Missing: Jennifer Kesse
One of my fellow chapter alumnae sisters from the University of Central Florida is missing. Few details are known.
Jennifer pledged ADPi in 1999 and was recently living on her own in a newly purchased condo in Orlando, Florida. She has a reputation for being punctual and checking in with family and friends. She didn't show up for work last Tuesday morning (was last heard from on 1/23), and her car was discovered, abandoned, one mile from her home. Please keep Jennifer and her family in your thoughts and prayers. We hope for her safe return. My thoughts are with you and the rest of her friends, as well as her family. Hopefully she is found safe and sound.
|
We will hope for the very best, although these situations seldom seem to turn out well.
Let this one be different. |
:( I hope for the best as well.

Best of luck... I've been seeing this on the news and in the paper every day. Horrible.
|
She was in my Rho Chi group and I had a couple of classes with her. She's a really nice girl and I was sad to find out about this (a chapter sister told me about this). I'll be thinking of her and hope she has a safe return.
|
Thanks to everyone. Attached is a missing persons flier. If you can, please print this and distribute it, even if you live 100s of miles from Orlando, Florida. It has been one week since Jennifer has gone missing.
Thank you again. http://www.ucfalumni.com/e-announcements/jennkesse.pdf |

Every little bit helps. I will pray for her safe return! |
You hear about this happening to OTHER people and you think it'd never happen to anyone you actually know.
Here's hopes for a safe return... |

Did you try PO? I did, with zero results. I hope that changes! |
My prayers are with her,her family, and her friends. :(
I hope she will be found soon. |
I sincerely send all my hopes and thoughts to her and her family.. I will be praying for them.
|
Hi Honey-- I did email Sally. PO is still so underused. A lot of local members and alumnae in Florida are standing in traffic intersections, handing out flyers and distributing them throughout their communities from Jacksonville to Miami. Again, it is possible she could have been taken out of the state; as it has been a week.
Thanks to the poster who linked to LJ. I also posted a message on my MySpace page and there are bulletins going around MySpace, too. Every little bit helps. Her parents have been active in the local and national media to spread the message in the hopes we will find her. Thank you again for your help and your prayers for Jennifer Kesse. |

What about contacting Nancy Grace? I haven't watched her show in a couple of weeks, so I don't know if she has already broadcast something about Jennifer's disappearance. If not, I think it's a good idea. Also, let her know Jennifer is an ADPi -- Nancy is one too!

Her father was on the show on 1/26 via phone. Here is a transcript (it is toward the very end of the show, so scroll down).

I will keep her and her family in my prayers. I posted the flyer on my myspace account. The more people that see her picture the better.
|
The family has launched a website: http://jenniferkesse.com/
ChildWatch of North America is now involved in the search, and a large search of Central Florida will be underway this weekend. Volunteers from all over Florida are coming to participate, including UCF Greeks and alumni. |

Any news?
|
I saw the flyers at every gas station I went to last night (around University and Rouse area), as well as at the Bennigan's on University... Good to see the word being spread.
|
I don't know how much it helps, but I will put some up in Indiana, and give some to law enforcement up here. Her friends and family are in my prayers.
I wish there was like a massive website/forum with a huge audience that people could visit to spead the information out really fast. Or Amber Alert emails daily to help get flyers out in widespread areas when you can. |
My friends were out distributing flyers in Orlando this weekend. There was a very large volunteer turnout.
The website for Jennifer is http://jenniferkesse.com/ You can sign up to volunteer, view or sign the guestbook, see updates and more. I've also signed up for Google Alerts-- search word "Jennifer Kesse" Latest update: As of Feb 6 ORLANDO -- The video images of an unidentified man near the spot where Jennifer Kesse's car was abandoned has generated dozens of calls, a spokesman for the missing Orlando woman's family said Sunday. Read the story here |

Jenn is still missing... Week 3....
SWAT Team raids this weekend following what seemed to be a credible tip didn't turn up anything useful. But there's still hope. ChildWatch is no longer conducting large-scale volunteer searches, but the police and the SWAT team are continuing to search. Local businesses are continuing to distribute literaure. More tips have been called in. Family and friends are confident that Jenn will be found alive.Natalee Holloway's mother, Beth Twitty, has been in touch with the Kesse family, to lend her moral support and advice. The story continues to get a lot of local media time on news stations and newspapers and even local colllege media at UCF. This weekend, a UCF newspaper op/ed writer, and a friend of Jenn, wrote about the disappearance and its effect on their circle of friends, and appealed to whoevever took Jenn to bring her home. The family has also been on national news-- Nancy Grace, Larry King and FOX News. The collegiate chapter of ADPi at UCF has added a page about Jenn to their homepage: http://adpiucf.com as has the UCF alumni association. The website jenniferkesse.com includes a link to a message board for people to post, discuss, offer ideas, etc. You can also make financial contributions to the search on the jenniferkesse.com site or at Bank of America. There's been so much support. Please continue your prayers and to pass along the information flyer and website... and hope that Jenn will be brought back home safely and soon!!! |
