DST's 48th National Convention in Philly
 

As we countdown ;) to our 48th National Convention where we shall gather from July 27- August 2 in Philadelphia, PA, I think it is time for this thread to appear.

Who's attending this year?

While at convention, we will be celebrating many many birthdays, including mine. Bring me a present for the party in Ladygreek's room. :D

This is the preparation thread and then the debriefing thread, but keep in mind not all things are meant for everyone to see. :D If in doubt, talk to your chapter Sorors first. :)

Le Sigh...I hadn't planned on going because I will be starting my internship this year and I gotta save $. But I really want to meet my GC sorors!! :(

I will be there since Philly is my hometown. :D

I am going to try very hard to make it. I had fun in Vegas...and I want to go to more workshops.

I would love to go but unfortunately I'm stuck in Germany and probably won't be making my way back to the States until next year. All you Lovely Lady Leo's party enough for me (July 31).

I will be there...my hubby is coming too...his chapter (he's a Nupe) is on the east coast. Needless to say we are both excited!

Now you know there are direct flights between Philly and Frankfurt. Just get on one of them, and tell your superiors you'll be back in a few days. J/K We'll give a special toast to you at the party. :D

I'm actually not in the service anymore- if I were it would probably make it easier to sneak away. For what a ticket costs ya know I need to be staying more than a weekend and that's where I run into my problem :mad:

I don't know yet. I'm currently looking for another job and may not have enough vacation time or money to go. I went to Virgina Beach on a wing and a prayer. I would love to meet all of my GC sorors! Pray that everything works out!

Soror, I've seen your chapter's website. It's very nice, and it looks like the sorors keep things lively way over there. :D

I plan on attending. Even if I do not stay the entire length of the convention, I will be there for our formal opening.

Thanks Soror! I just arrived in Germany in August so I've only been a part of the chapter for a couple of months but so far I'm happy with my new Delta home. The one down side is there is only one chapter in Germany and all of the meetings/events are held in one central location. Unfortunately for some Sorors, like myself, you may have to travel 3 hours just to get to a meeting or an event (to include committee meetings held during the week)! I'm not sure what the price of gas is in the States but you may have to sell a kidney to get enough gas money for the week in Germany (the cost of living is ridiculous)!

Soror, I hope everything works out! You are on my list of GC Sorors I HAVE to meet!!

Mama JocelynC cannot stop talking about it. Sounds like it should be a fun time for you guys. The last time she went, she had to get an extra piece of luggage to haul back all the stuff she bought. :)
