It played today. I recorded it on my DVR. It was very interesting.

Saw it on Friday! Finally played here in the Pyramids and it was GREAT! A true story of American History and how Alpha played in it.

RBL 03-09-2006 07:36 PM

This documentary is scheduled on UNC-TV

on 4/2/06 at 2:30pm

A historical documentary on Alpha Phi Alpha, America's largest and oldest black fraternity. W.E.B. Dubois, Jesse Owens, Duke Ellington, Edward Brooke, Thurgood Marshall, Andrew Young, and Martin Luther King, Jr. are among the countless Alpha men who have dedicated their lives to scholarship, manly deeds, and love for all mankind. The history of these men is the history of America, and their place in the vanguard of the Civil Rights struggle is unparalleled. This is the story of Alpha Phi Alpha's century of leadership and service

I am currently deployed in Iraq so I dont get to watch much TV. a Frat mailed me a copy yesterday and I thought it was abcolutely great. I learned a lot. I am a memeber of Eta Lambda and have met former General President Ozel Sutton many times. But I never knew he was in the hotel where Brother King was shot. That is real history there.

God has truly smiled on the bruhs.

You are right about it, OA. As I watched and saw A Phi A's national (and local) excellence demonstrated in so many areas, and how we're continuing leadership into the future, it just reinforced for me why it was Alpha or nothing at all.

Good Program very interesting..Big up to the Alpha's:)

I just caught the Alpha documentary this past Sunday. I was truly amazed and humbled at the experience, especially to see some of my chapter brothers in the film.

Eh Bruh, I don't know. I never knew how to do alot of the stuff some people here do. I wanted to know how to change the color of my font to old gold. Hopefully somebody will respond to this and we'll both learn how to put up pictures and thangs.

Help

Hello everyone. Does anyone know where I can obtain a copy of this DVD? It was going to be released around July I believe, but no word, and I'm understandably anxious after reading and hearing all of the positive comments. Any help would be apreciated. Thanks.

Solo_I 08-05-2006 11:59 AM

I spoke with a lady from MPT(Maryland Public Television) and she said she has been getting a lot of calls about purchasing this DVD. She said to continue to check there web site and whenever it is available it will be on the site. http://www.mpt.org/programsinterests/alpha/#video

Bahamaman 08-05-2006 02:24 PM

Thanks for the info. I'll keep checking.

sigmadiva 08-17-2006 12:51 AM

The documentary was on tonight here in Houston. I really did enjoy it. The one thing that I liked about it is that it was balanced - there was equal time spent on the Founders and the founding of APhiA, prominant members and the community service that your fraternity has done and is doing. I liked it a lot.

ProspeKt 08-18-2006 04:04 AM

Just viewed the documentary about 3min ago. Very informative. Props to the men of APhiA.

Lady of Pearl 08-18-2006 09:36 PM

I was fortunate to view it earlier- before the centennial, and recognized several prominent members of the organizatiion from my previous community.

ziasha07 04-06-2007 09:05 PM

I just have to say that I absolutely LOVED this documentary. I have just begun taking a serious intrest in NPHC organizations as I will be off to college in 3 months. Of course the first thing I was privy to were the sterotypes of the different organizations. I must say that this documentary portrays Alphas in the light that all of the organizations should be portrayed in. How involved in the history of our country Alphas were and still are! It is hard to express the amount of pride (to be black) and respect (for the Alphas) I felt in watching this video. It makes me want to learn more about the history of all the organizations.

Truly amazing. Ultimate kudos to all the Alphas out there!

1908Revelations 04-07-2007 06:47 PM

I went to school with a couple of guys in the documentary.

Phrozen1ne 04-01-2009 10:44 PM

Brothers-

I have been trying to find a copy of the documentary. I know its on youtube.com but I would like my own copy. I don't think that it is being sold through the Alpha shop anymore and I haven't had any success getting it from PBS. Any suggestions??

The Original Ape 04-26-2009 09:17 AM

I wish I knew!!!

Hey Bruh;

I just stopped in and read this. I wish I knew how to do alot of the stuff they do here. If I ever find out, I'll revisit this question and leave the answer with you.

They don't sell it anymore?!! That's too bad! Every brother should have the opportunity to own a copy of this documentary. I can burn a copy for you if you need one.
