Get this crappy music off my radio dammit!
[rant]
Seriously, how many frickin times can you loop Laffy Taffy, Don't Forget About Us, the Whistle Song, and Grillz? One time, Laffy Crappy was on 90.3, 93,3 AND 98.9 AT THE SAME TIME! As someone who appreciates REAL hip-hop (Mos Def, Common, Talib, Big Daddy Kane, KRS-one), I cringe at what's happened these days..... I mean, if the idiot pop masses like this stuff, then fine, play it, but don't play the same 10 songs every hour! Mix in some Tupac or Biggie or ANYONE credible FFS. I'm not an expert or anything, but something's wrong here. The fact that D4L has the number one single in America with a song WITH NO MELODY is sad.... [/rant] |
I like Ashley Simpson and Hil Duff on my radio.
-Rudey --And I admit it so up your nose with a rubber hose. |

I'll watch Hilary and Lindsay's videos....with the mute button on. |

that whole video/song reminds me of the "mother/sister" scene in Chinatown. I agree that Laffy Taffy is the crappiest song in a long while. |

2 words: satellite radio :D

Now that Howard's on and Snoop hosts his own show, that's a great idea now...if I can afford it. |
I just listen to my iPod in the car.

Hey Jubilance, is there a channel that plays stuff from WAY BACK, like Big Daddy Kane, KRS-One, Public Enemy, Biz Markie and Old School LL Cool J?
If there is, then I need to start saving up. |
Saving up? You can get satellite radio (xm or sirius) for under $50, often under $30 (mine before xmas at bestbuy was 17.99) including everything you need to hook it to the car, and then service is $10 a month. Hardly a dent in your wallet.

And no need to save...I got my direct unit for $50 w/ a $30 rebate, and its only $12.95/month. I believe the plug n' play's are also around $50-60 with a rebate as well... I have XM and so does my mom and we both love it. I don't know anyone who has Sirius, so I can't comment. |

yeah me too. My radio is broken so I have not been able to listen to the radio for about 4 months now. I'm not complaining, the radio is horrible. |
Here is the playlist for our local Top 40 station in Chicago last week. I thought I heard Mariah Carey almost every time I turned on the radio and I wasn't far off. They played "Don't Forget About Us" 103 times last week. That's almost once an hour!
This link is where I found that...they have playlists for all sorts of stations all over the US. |

I miss having two good hip hop stations -- damn you, Chicago. I stopped listening to the lame station here so I never hear anything new other than house unless I download it.

After listening since 8 AM (It's now 2:30):
Chris Brown: Cool, you got friends, I got friends. I hope your friends don't create music as crappy as you do. Black Eyed Peas: Great, she's got you spending. Did you have to pay for Fergie's dry cleaning after she pissed herself at Street Scene? Nelly: Even Travis Barker has a Grill, and his makes more people SCUUURRED than yours does. Enough already. It's played out. Now you and your stupid friend in the Phantom Of The Opera Mask go apologize to KRS-One for trying to get too familiar. WE'RE SCUUUURED, THAT'S THE WUUUUURD, YA HEEEERRRRD Mariah and Bone: WE CAN'T FORGET ABOUT YOU BECAUSE YOUR SONG IS ON EVERY HOUR!!!! Juelz: First of all, Dipset sucks. Second of all, when did occur to you that whistling was attractive? Dem Franchise Boyz: Go head, keep thinking we like you....we don't. Ray J: If I had one wish, I'd smack you hard so you can stop crying over your girl and start acting like a man. Gwen: You're one of the hottest and most talented women in music. Did you HAVE to sample Big Poppa (Which is already a sample of the Isley Brothers) and make a slow jam? Young Jeezy: My roomate thinks you named yourself Young Jeezy just so they could say the words "Young Jeezy" on MTV and we all share a laugh. "He said it! He said it!" |
Seriously... most of what's on the radio these days is crap. I used to listen to my iPod almost exclusively while commuting to my last job - 1 hour each way by car. Now I commute by train. It's a 10-minute drive to the station, so I don't bother hooking up the iPod... mostly I listen to my cassettes (my car is too old to have a CD player), then I pull out my iPod on the train (as does everyone else).
