Panthers vs. Bears

Who are you pulling for???

I'm torn, as I now live in Charlotte...but I grew up in IL, and the Bears have never in my lifetime had anything to cheer about before.

CrimsonTide4 01-11-2006 09:50 AM

GO PANTHERS!!! :D

GO BEARS!

(Well, okay, that's 'cause I'm a Bucs fan.)

I predicted on Sunday that the Panthers game was all I was going to hear about this week on the news. It was the same thing when the Panthers went to the SuperBowl a few years ago. Charlotte is such a "fair-weather" city.

Mr. AXiD670, however, is ecstatic.

I'm not a Panthers fan nor a non fan. I root like hell when they win. But it feels great to live in a city where a team has gone to the SuperBowl. @ The Cleveland Browns

So GO PANTHERS!!! :D

Yes, you're right. We did have that to cheer about....IN 1985!!!

Go Bears! This city will go crazy if we were to have two championship teams in one year.

I was 2 in 1985, so that doesn't count. 2003 (unfourtuatly) I was still mad at the Cubs for screwing up their season, so I refused to watch Chicago sports.

You missed out on the Super Bowl Shuffle? I pity you!

Hm, aside from what everybody else has mentioned, the Bears are too awesome to need fans who only cheer for them when they're winning.

Anyway, I don't think anybody will be shocked to hear that I'm cheering for DA BEARS. I'd love to see a Bears/Broncos Super Bowl.

Chicago Bears all the way!!!:D

Bear down, Chicago Bears,
make every play clear the way to victory;
Bear down, Chicago Bears,
put up a fight with a might so fearlessly.
We'll never forget the way you thrilled the nation
with your T-formation.
Bear down, Chicago Bears,
and let them know why you're wearing the crown.
You're the pride and joy of Illinois, Chicago Bears, bear down.

ETA: Scroll down to listen to the song

Do the Panthers have a song?

Do any of you remember the song the Patriots made in 1985 when they were trying to be as cool as the Bears? It was awful.

Actually that was 2001. 13-3 regular season and the last NFC Central division title. :D

GO BEARS! :D

Yes! My friends and I used to sing it as "New England Patriots...SUCK!" :)

chitownxo 01-11-2006 02:24 PM

First the Sox, now the Bears. It's a good time to be a Chicago sports fan!

I'm going to the game, and I will be cheering for my hometown team. Go Bears!

BobbyTheDon 01-11-2006 03:02 PM

I willl go against the Bears, until they bring Kyle Orton back in.

kansas13 01-13-2006 12:01 AM

GO BEARS!!

Who can stand it, two winning sports teams in Chicago!! This city will burst if the Bears get to the Super Bowl let alone win it.

amycat412 01-13-2006 12:33 AM

I was born in Chicago, so DA BEARS all the way.

They call me sweetness and I like to dance
When I run the ball its pure romance.

tinydancer 01-13-2006 11:46 AM

I'll take DA BEARS. Just because.

mu_agd 01-13-2006 12:54 PM

Go Patriots!

UofISigKap 01-13-2006 09:20 PM

Go Bears!

I so would love to see them in another Super Bowl! I was in second grade the last time around, and the teachers let us write to the players to wish them luck. We all had to draw names, and boy were the boys ticked when I pulled Jim McMahon's name. What a team they were, and what a treat it would be to see the Bears back in the Big Game!

GeekyPenguin 01-15-2006 02:09 PM

So I'm a lifetime Packer fan and was raised to hate the Bears. HOWEVER, I also hate the Vikings, and I live in Minnesota now. Therefore, I am going to grit my teeth and cheer for the Bears because I hate the Vikings even more.

The Bears used to train at the college I started out at and donated a lot of nice things to the campus as well. I think the only thing the Vikings have donated lately is sex toys. ;)

kansas13 01-15-2006 10:30 PM

OMG, I have been a life long Bears fan, but I will be the first to admit that they played a lousy game tonight!! If the defense would have played their game they could have won, but they stunk.

RedRoseSAI 01-16-2006 10:08 AM

Yeah, it was pretty terrible.

::sigh:: Oh well.

Sister Havana 01-16-2006 10:37 AM

No kidding. If the defense could have stopped them even once, we might have had a shot!

Xylochick216 01-16-2006 10:42 AM

Good for the Panthers. It was a decent football weekend, especially since the Deadskins lost :)

chitownxo 01-16-2006 02:46 PM

Yeah, the Bears played a lousy game, but it was exciting to watch it from the stands. In a way, it's probably better that they lost; had they made it to the Superbowl and actually won, a lot of people would have been convinced the world was coming to an end, and acted accordingly. This way, it's just another sad Monday.

I don't remember the song. What I do remember is the smoking that the Bears gave the Patriots. Final score 46 to 10.

BobbyTheDon 01-16-2006 03:44 PM

Wasn't Websters dad, and white dad on the Bears?
