Survivor 12: Panama Exile Island

It starts February 12! The official site is now up. Something different: there will be 4 tribes to start...Older Men, Older Women, Younger Men, Younger Women. The cast looks interesting. Lots of former college athletes this time around. One of the women (Tina) was actually supposed to be on Survivor Guatemala, but her son was killed in an auto accident the week before she was supposed to leave.

It should be a fun season.

Ruth Marie is a Chi Omega. :)

On another note, my hubbie knew the guy **** from UC Irvine & says that he's a cocky prick b/c he acted as if he was God's gift to women.

I like Ruth Marie, but I'm not sure they did the right thing by voting off Tina!

They literally shot themselves in the foot by voting Tina off. She looked like she was the only one who knew how to use a machete...how the hell you gonna keep the chick afraid of LEAVES who could barely get over the wooden thing during the immunity challenge?

NutBrnHair 02-03-2006 03:42 PM

Surely with 4 tribes there will have to be some type of merge soon.

AznSAE 02-03-2006 09:20 PM

i missed the instructions part. how does one get sent to exile island? is it when they lose a reward challange?

For the team that comes in 4th in an immunity challenge, that losing team votes amongst themselves who will stay on Exile Island.

i thought the immunity challenge loosers get sent to tribal council instead where one gets voted off the island. no?

I thought the same thing. Was it a reward challenge that the team lost and then sent the gal to exile island? I did not get to watch until the end of her exile. How long was she on the island?

CutiePie2000 02-04-2006 10:37 PM

Sorry, I meant REWARD challenge. This is what happens when you don't get sufficient rest.

NutBrnHair 02-10-2006 03:14 PM

I missed it last night. Who was voted off?

AGDee 02-10-2006 03:18 PM

Melinda... but it should have been Shane.

CutiePie2000 02-17-2006 01:39 AM

I quite like Bruce. He is the only one who has any sense. And I hope that Shane and Courtney both get voted off in a 2 for 1 deal. Shane reminds me of Tommy Lee, and no, that's not a good thing.

Sister Havana 02-17-2006 04:42 PM

Shane is so annoying.

Courtney was on the same college gymnastics team as a girl in my high school graduating class.

And I think Austin is kind of hot.

polarpi 02-17-2006 06:05 PM

Last night's immunity challenge was intense

I'm kinda glad Misty went home, but I will agree about Ruth Marie not looking so good - her face looked very gaunt last night during TC.

polarpi 04-14-2006 12:23 AM

Anyone still watching?

Do you think Terry can "win out" the immunities and keep the hidden idol a secret?

Is anyone else wanting to wipe the smug a** looks off of four of the Casaya members (Cirie and Ar as excluded)?

ETA: I had to space out the letters for him because the board took it to be a dirty word  :D

AGDee 04-14-2006 06:34 AM

I think he has a good chance. Ar as was his biggest competition. Cirie isn't going to win any challenges. I think his biggest competition is Danielle. Danielle and Bruce definitely know he has the idol. I don't know why Bruce hasn't said "Yes he has it, he showed it to me" to the rest of his tribe. Casaya doesn't seem too bright as a whole. But, if he makes it to the Final 2, will they vote for him to win the million? I would have to respect someone who won so many immunity challenges and vote for him, but will they just go along with their original alliances when it gets to that point? Will they be smart enough to realize that he will get to choose who leaves the week he uses the hidden idol if they don't vote for one of their own the week he doesn't win immunity?

I like the hidden immunity idol twist... although this pagonging is getting old after this many years. They can't seem to find a way to get them out of that. I can't believe they haven't gotten rid of Shane yet.

AznSAE 04-14-2006 10:41 AM

the hidden idol is not a secret anymore since terry showed it.

1. terry should not have showed the real idol. what he should have done was make one from rocks/twigs/hair or whatever to make it look like its the real deal.

2. then, in front of the others, he should have given the made-up idol to the girl who got booted last night to make it look like she would be safe because terry gave her the "idol."

3. as a result, the 6 from the other team would be voting between themselves as to who to send home.

am i making sense? lol

AGDee 04-14-2006 10:50 AM

You are making sense and that would have been a good strategy. I think though, that Casaya would've been ok with Ar as going home. They don't seem to hang with him much and he and Bruce never bonded.

Ooooh!!! That would have been a good one. Yeah, Casaya doesn't seem that bright. And I so agree...why haven't they punted Shane yet? He reminds me of some skeletal, drugged out, Tommy Lee'esque anorexic.

KDAngel 04-15-2006 02:32 AM

I'm sad Sally's gone. I really really liked her...

CutiePie2000 04-15-2006 11:52 PM

Cirie is really starting to grow on me. At first, when she was freaked out by the "leaves", I was thinking, PUH-LEEZE...you knew you were going on Survivor, not Big Brother!!! But actually, I really like her. I was laughing so hard when she had to examine Shane's 'nads. OMG...ROTFL!!!

I also like Terry...he reminds me a bit of Tom the Fireman who won a few Survivors ago (Palau).

I think they all hate Shane so much that they plan to take him to the final two. Who would vote for Shane to win the million?

AznSAE 04-16-2006 02:50 PM

if they are that "close" as a group, then they might want to take terry to the final two because then he/she would have all the votes from their tribe members.

KDAngel 04-17-2006 02:04 AM

I watn Cirie to win now. Terry's like that one guy (maybe last season or the one before) who was just too good. I'd like someone less obvious to win.

Shane and Courtney annoy me to no end.
I can't see Karate or whatever guy going too much further either...

blueangel 04-20-2006 09:26 PM

Oh! Poor Bruce! As a fellow martial artist, I was rooting for him. He was my absolute favorite. I hope he's going to be alright.

I'm surprised that the Survivor staff didn't intervene a little earlier. They're just lucky that Bruce didn't die. Blockages like that are VERY serious! As would have been a ruptured appendix.

Bummer. Just hope he's OK.

polarpi 04-21-2006 12:19 AM

I felt so bad for Bruce as he was lying in pain - I hope everything worked out so he could return to the jury.

It was so bad, but I had to laugh at Shane - "Does it have to be NOW?"

I'm still rooting for Terry, just because he's the "underdog" in this game now, and Cirie and Ar as are the only two that I can tolerate from "Casaya" (newsflash, people, Casaya is no more :p)

I'm guessing that they were monitoring him more closely than they showed on TV but make it look like that was the first time he was looked at. I hope he can make it back to be on the jury.

It bought Terry an extra 3 days without having to use his Immunity Idol though.

The challenge did a good job of revealing the true alliances and got them to realize that they have to start turning on each other soon. They were too cocky during that previous IC where 5 of them chose to eat instead.

ADPiShannan 04-21-2006 11:25 AM

Thats what makes me sooo mad is how they just think they run the show. I mean they've done good, but they annoy me.

I was annoyed that Arras was like Terry for everything and when he told him he didnt think he could stick it out in the wild much longer. Does he realize that Terry is beating them at everything and being in the CIA he is awesome.

I just want Terry to move forward more. He deserves it. I mean come on Danielle and Courtney are both horrible..... Neither does anything. It was horrible they all sat and ate chesseburgers at the last challenge.

I feel bad for Bruce. He is such a nice guy. I wish he would have gone with Terry a long time ago though, I mean that luxury challenge really should show you how people feel.

I swear each year I say they should do the same thing and its like noone goes in there thinking I need to make it to the end. They all stick to their alliances. It wont get you far.

I say Shane and Courtney go with Terry and vote off Arras or Seri.

All I want is Terry to get immunity so he doesnt have to use the idol, one more time. Then we'll see how that tribe goes.

It will be so boring if Terry is gone too. I cant take this tribe too much more.

AGDee 04-21-2006 01:05 PM

I think Arras got that question wrong on purpose. He knew that Cirie only had to get it right to win, whether he was right or not. He also knew that Cirie was going to take him along on the Reward trip. However, this way, Cirie was the one who had to alienate people by sending someone to Exile Island and by choosing who to take on the Reward trip. He didn't have to become a bad guy to anybody.

I think he's quite bright and if Terry doesn't win, then I think Arras should

I'd agree that I thought Arras threw the reward since he knew he'd still get to go.

I completely agree that he probably threw the reward on purpose since he knew he'd be taken. I'd much rather see Cirie win over Arras in the end though. That is if Terry doesn't. And if Terry makes it that far he'll have more votes because the other tribe is going to have to turn on it's own members and tick them off for him to continue on.

ADPiShannan 05-12-2006 10:51 AM

I wish Terry would win, but they say it will be a close call on the votes, so I say its betweem Cerie and Arras. Neither I want to win. Arras acts like he is so much better than everyone else and hes not.

Cerie annoys me too. She is the one pulling all the strings.

I want Terry to win. Everyone has wanted him out from the merge, but hes fought hard and he deserves the money. Of course, he wont get it.

That's why I'd like to see her win. For someone who seemed to be afraid of a leaf in the first episode, I'd say she has the "Outwit, Outplay, Outlast" criteria downpat.

ETA: To the extent that he has continued to win immunity, Terry has Outlasted and Outplayed others. He's also been useful around camp. But I haven't seen much Outwitting from him. He's blown some useful opportunities to capitalize on having the immunity idol. Instead, he wasted it.

Still, if Danielle beats Cirie at making fire, and if Terry can win immunity in the next challenge, he wins the game.

How do you figure that when most of the jury is from the other tribe?

Because the jury hates Danielle. Did you see the glee on Courtney's face when Probst announced votes for Danielle? Assuming the final three are Terry, Arras and Danielle, and assuming either Terry or Arras wins immunity, either would be crazy not to take Danielle into the final two, and I think either would win against her. Other tribe or not, I think most of the jury would vote for Terry before they'd vote for Danielle.

We'll see Sunday, I guess, if my guess is right.

And I see know why people have been spelling "Arras" with two "r's" instead of one. Weird.

ADPiShannan 05-12-2006 11:42 AM

I dont think Danielle will be the one who wins the fire game.

As far as if it were Cerie vs Terry This is how I see the votes and I may be wrong.

Terry gets
Austin
Sally
Bruce
Shane

Cerie gets
Arras
Courtney
Danielle

I know Terry would get Austin and Sally. I think hed get Bruce because Bruce respects him and thinks highly of him and I know Shane is mad about Cerie and Arras going against him.

I hope you're right. My gut would be that Cirie would get her fire going faster (and in the brief preview clip she did appear to have the bigger fire), but the editing last night seemed to set up a Cirie loss. Maybe the editors are toying with us.

Not sure how I see the votes breaking down between Terry and Cirie, especially Shane's vote.
