Have you finished Christmas shopping?

The countdown is on. Have you finished Christmas shopping? I'll be honest; I haven't even started. I'm a last minute Christmas shopper. Some people are hard to shop for so I decided last year that those people will get gift cards, so they can get what they want.
Some say it's impersonal, but I'd rather be impersonal then give them something they really don't want. (and I think we've all been there.) ;)

CrimsonTide4 12-12-2005 10:04 AM

I've only bought one present this year so far. I will do the rest Friday night online after my hair appointment. :D

StarFish106 12-12-2005 10:56 AM

that's what I'm talking about, playa! Your Special Delivery Christmas Skyline Chili package is soon to be on its way to the N.O. :p

mom's gift? You know them AKAs have everything already :p so they are hard to shop for. Maybe perfume, or jewelery, but if a certain N.O. paraphanlia vendor had his business "online," I coulda thrown some dollars his way. ...but maybe he is preoccupied with big and more important thangs in the 06? :p :D

...check your pm

starang21 12-13-2005 11:44 PM

CrimsonTide4 12-14-2005 09:41 AM

I had already settled on a gift for my mom, something she needs but just came across a present -- Old School Concert with the Manhattans and a few others -- that she will loooooooooove. :D

southernelle25 12-14-2005 03:25 PM

Anyone else have a tax-free weekend coming up? :p

That is when I will finish my shopping.

Speaking of gifts.... I need ideas on a Christmas gift for a guy who's not yet my boyfriend but we're really good friends and recently started dating.

DirectorDST1999 12-15-2005 12:36 PM

I'll probably start my shopping this weekend or wait until the 23rd...that's the best time!!

buy him a book, but not Zane otherwise he might think you want to get freaky under the mistletoe. :)

dstdoll97 12-17-2005 11:39 PM

lol. :) Thanks CT4.

DC_Zeta1920 12-19-2005 01:50 PM

I finished mine Saturday. I walked around the mall all day long and boy were my feet aching afterwards and I wore comfortable shoes at that.

jitterbug13 12-19-2005 01:54 PM

I just started. I ordered my sister an AKA bag a few minutes ago from Greekgear.com. I'm going to by my mom a camera, maybe some elephants and a gift certifcate from Dillards. My brother and grandma will also get gift cards to their favorite stores. I may get my dad either some coglone (sp again or a model car (or 2 depending on the price). I have no idea what to get my stepdad.

SummerChild 12-19-2005 02:37 PM

Does she like crystal? If so, maybe you can get her a nice piece of crystal. If you go waterford or swarovski, these can be expensive so you might ask the store rep if there are any discontinued pieces on clearance or in the back room. I have gotten at least one deal this way. the rep brought out several waterford pieces that were not out b/c there was not room and they were discontinued.

Steeltrap 12-19-2005 02:38 PM

Have only bought one gift. Besides my family, the only folx who get gifts are four babypeople, and I have a reprieve on two of them because I don't see their moms (sorors) until January.

Highm8ness1 12-19-2005 03:10 PM

No, I have not even started yet. Every year I say, I am going to put things in the layaway and be prepared for school. Lo and behold I am still shopping the last few days of Christmas.

Last year, I shopped Christmas Eve.

rho4life 12-19-2005 04:58 PM

No! I need help with my brother in law. he likes to drink, so I'm thinking about something wine related. I need suggestions for a 40 year old white guy, who's a computer geek.

Does he have a bar at home?

Is brother-in-law the white guy too or is this another person?

Sorry, :) My bro-in-law is the 40 year old white guy. They don't have a full bar at their house. He enjoys drinking wine and beer. He's got the basics, ie white and red glasses and reliable bottle openers. I don't know what to get, I don't want to do just a gift certificate, b/c it feels like a cop out.

kiml122 12-19-2005 09:49 PM

Yup, I have been finished since 11-12-05...he he he:D

ykimber 12-19-2005 10:03 PM

I started shopping online the day after thanksgiving! I only have Arch Cards to buy for my nieces and newphews!

dstdoll97 12-20-2005 06:48 PM

I bought the last of my gifts online. The only two people left is my mother (who has everything) and a guy friend (want to get a nice gift but not too personal).

I'm thinking a day at a spa for my mother. Any ideas on the guy friend?

Wonderful1908 12-21-2005 12:22 AM

Mostly which is way ahead for me. I just need tobuy the baby somethings, I have completed my husband, son, Mom, brother, etc. I need to buy my niece and nephew something as well.

christiangirl 12-21-2005 01:59 AM

I finally finished all my shopping only to find out that my sister's best friend bought her the same gift! She bought hers first, so I have to take mine back......I oughta be like, "SHE'S MY SISTER, YOU TAKE YOURS BACK!"
