Jennifer Aniston is "Man of the Year" According to GQ Magazine

I heard this on today's broadcast of Steve Harvey's Morning Show.

Here is an article: http://www.nbc11.com/entertainment/5329185/detail.html

excerpt: Jennifer Aniston earned the honor because the magazine said she showed a lot of poise, grace and good humor during her breakup with Brad Pitt this year. The acting couple's divorce was granted last month after four years of marriage.

WTF?!?!?? So why wasn't Shar Jackson given the same honor last year when Kevin dumped her while pregnant with his child for BRITNEY "NOT THAT INNOCENT" SPEARS?!!?! Was it because said child was illegitimate? Was it because Shar is less pristine as Jennifer?

The other 2 Men of the Year are Vince Vaughn and 50 Cent.

Go support her movie Derailed! It was really good, plus I feel bad for her.

However, there are some sistas who have been through much worse:rolleyes: (i'm feeling you CT4)

Since 50 Cent and Vince Vaughn are the other "Men of the Year", I would say that's an accolade not worth having.

blueGBI 11-16-2005 12:24 PM

Unlike Jennifer, Shar also put a lot of her business out in the street. She just said recently that both her and Britany were going with Kevin at the same time.

Did GQ get the memo that 50's popularity is waining? I know just the rapper they can replace him with. And he's always dresses like he's in GQ, too!:D :p

You talking about Kanyeezie? Well, dirty-butt Jim Jones clowned Kanye's clothes:

Now I don't have any feelings about Chinnifer Maniston either way, but it seems like she's being rewarded for taking some from Bradgelina. Vince Vaughn -- umm.
Fiddy --

I think some of it has to do with how good their publicists are . . . Why else would some people get certain wards and some people get skipped?

Rant

Bid deal - she went through a divorce. Like she the only person that has experienced heartbreak.

Other than that, now why is she Man of the Year again???

**no comment ** about 2 quarters...opps I meant 50 cents.

They must aint get it, and maybe I should be the one to send it to them. Not trying to be funny, but I just don't understand why this fool is still on tv. I mean, WHO  is buying his albums? MsSweetness aint and that's for doggone sure. Why does he have a chain of books coming out? He can barely talk, who in the hayle is he gonna convince to read a gangsta novel? Not MsSweetness, because I DID get the memo :o

DELTABRAT 11-17-2005 01:26 PM

Yeah, she's not the only person who's had her heart broken but many of "us" don't have to go through it in the public eye.

Also, let's not pretend that Brad Pitt ain't fine as hayle (sad for her), plus they were the "golden couple," not to mention that they are both really popular, which added to the drama (not to mention Angelina's popularity). Meanwhile Kevin Federline and broke azz Shar Jackson? Cmon...they don't even compare in terms of popularity, net worth, power, etc. And as someone else mentioned, Brad, Angelina and Aniston's publicists are working overtime to not only protect the images of their clients but also to put them in the spotlight at the right times to increase their popularity, etc.

Meanwhile, you have broke azz Federline and his crew...blah, blah, blah...I mean, there really is no comparison. Nor are the Katrina victims. I mean really. I hear what folks are saying but we are talking GQ here, not Ebony or Jet or something...really.

On another note, it is a little  that she'd be named "man" of the year, but people like her and it's a slap in the face to say...Brad...whose humanitarian efforts are more seen as a "follow-the-leader" type of deal then genuine concern for whomever the efforts are helping.
