Fox's "Reunion"

So I did a search and didn't find a thread on this TV show so I thought I would start one. Has anyone watched this show? What do you think about it? Ever since it started up again (after the World Series) the episodes started getting good.

I am totally hooked now that we finally found out who was murdered. I will definately continue watching!!

ms_gwyn 11-11-2005 03:12 PM

I watch it when it comes on.

It was very rough in the beginning of the season, but it really has gotten better.

I forgot about it last week and only saw the 2nd half of the eppy and I have to bt it to see the whole thing. But I am glad that the cop now knows who killed his father.

I have yet to watch this weeks eppy (taped it), but I have a strong feeling I know who it is....but we as least know it is a chick....big surprise there

I just hope Fox doesn't cancel the damn show now that it getting good.

kansas13 11-11-2005 06:55 PM

Oh, last nights show was the best yet. Not only because we find out who gets murdered, but the stories are getting much more interesting.

In the first episode I was surprised to see how girlish Carla was in the past, because in the present scenes she looked like such a hard ass. Last nights show surely shows how she begins to change with the situation she got herself in.

It says that Fox signed on to do at least 13 episodes. If the ratings are low and they decide to pull the show before the 20 years (20 shows) is up, I heard Fox is just going to fit all 20 years in just 13 episodes. Even though that would suck, at least we would know who the murderer was.

norcalchick 11-12-2005 02:25 AM

which one was killed?

kansas13 11-12-2005 03:50 AM

Samantha was the one that ended up being murdered, but at the beginning of last nights episode they made you think it was Jenna all the way till the end. I truely thought it was Jenna until they showed you it wasn't.

What I want to know is why they would kill her? A few theories that I have heard is that the daughter she gave up for adoption, Amy, killed her and the rest of the friends are trying to cover it up for her. Another one I heard was that Samantha commited suicide and instead of her family finding it out, they covered it up like it was a murder.

ms_gwyn 11-12-2005 10:45 AM

I kinda figured it was Sam during last week's eppy...

afterwards I thought it through and figured it was very obvious, because the show is basically all about her.

But I am enjoying it nonetheless....

kansas13 11-18-2005 12:38 AM

Tonights episode was a really good one. We finally found out how Carla became such a hardass. She pulled a gun out on the guy. I thought that the plan to take Amy away from him was brilliant. Can't wait to see next weeks episode!!

last night's episode

Can someone tell me what happened last night?
Thanks!

Well, Carla was still with Amy's adopted father after a year. Samantha figured out that he was abusing Carla and told her to leave him, but she said she couldn't because it was to complicated. Then Amy goes to her first day of Kindergarten and when Carla and her dad are their to pick her up she doesn't come out. The father suspects his ex-wife kiddnapped her and then mentions to the police about Sam. The police go to Sam's and tell her that they have to interview her husband, so she ends up telling Craig about her pregnancy with Amy, but not who the father was.

We find out in the end that Carla was the one who kidnapped Amy and sent her away with her adopted mother where they could hide from the father. The adopted father catches Carla taking to Samantha and when she comes home he is ready for a smackdown, but then Carla pulls a gun on him and threatens him to never come near her or anyone else she loves.

Aaron and Craig are in the internet business together and AOL wants to hire Aaron, but not Craig. Aaron agrees, tells Craig and he gets pissed. Aaron then thinks about it and decides to stay with Craig.

Will goes to Calli to give a letter to an Army buddies sister after his buddy dies.

In the end all 5 of them are in the present day at they loft. Jenna says they are all in it together and to keep it quite and they agree. She then says to Craig that while they are in it together she will never fogive what he did. Next weeks previews shows that Craig cheated on Samantha.

Hope that was clear and it helps!!

THANK YOU FOR THE UPDATE!!

KDAngel 11-27-2005 04:27 AM

It was so slow in the beginning that I stopped watching it, but some girls at the house said it's really good now so I guess I may give it another shot since I'm already watching the channel for the OC right before it. :D

I figured out it was Sam early on too. They were focusing on her so much and there were a bunch of hints about her as well.

Funny thing, I went to see the new movie "Yours, Mine, and Ours" with Dennis Quaid and Rene Russo and the oldest boy of Dennis Quaid is played by the same actor that plays Craig in Reunion. Of course in the movie he plays a MUCH nicer character and is a teenager...but I was pleasantly surprised to enjoy his work in the movie.

mu_agd 11-29-2005 11:19 AM

I just read this was cancelled and will only air through episode 13. I wonder how they'll wrap up the mystery now.

kansas13 11-29-2005 09:32 PM

It's Offically Cancelled!!

I heard they might cancel it, but after I saw your post I did some investigating and found this online at tvguide.com:

REUNION OVER, HOT IS NOT: On the heels of reports that CBS' Threshold, pulled for the remainder of November sweeps, has halted production, comes word that Fox's Reunion and ABC's Hot Properties each have had the plug pulled after 13 episodes. Thus far, there is no word on whether Reunion will wrap up its central murder mystery before vanishing; Hot Properties will air through December.

So it is offical, they have cancelled it. Could it really kill them to show 7 more episodes to make it the 20 that they promised?!?!

jitterbug13 11-30-2005 02:48 AM

Kansas13 and other Reunion fans,

If this helps, there is a petition on PetitionOnline.com to try to show/make all 20 episodes. I didn't watch the show but I do know how it is like to watch a show you love just to be canceled and you're left hanging. I hope this helps!:D

litlbear1072 12-20-2005 04:39 PM

Reunion is Over

I just read on MSN that the episode of Reunion last week was probably the last one they are going to show. I hate not knowing how a show ends!

ETA I have no idea how to post a link or I would have done it.

SSS1365 12-21-2005 07:07 PM

NO!!! I thought they would at least let us know who the killer is! That sucks!!!

ETA: I just found the link, so here it is:

litlbear1072 12-22-2005 09:45 AM

Maybe they will give a synopsis of how it ends? I know that's wishful thinking because when they cancel a show they don't care about the people who actually watched it. It's just gone, leaving us to wonder where the story would lead.

Quala67 12-22-2005 09:53 AM

**screams**

That just sucks. 100% sucks. I was SO into that show! The plot, the character development, the accuracy of the times portrayed - it was a great show.

Like Sam, killed before it had time to flourish.

They have stated they are not doing that since there are characters and storylines not introduced yet so it would be too confusing. There were rumors that the WB would pick it up and start where Fox left off. However, with Fox not airing the last three episodes that have already been filmed, that will most likely not happen.

Oh but I hope it does!

I read on some other board a good point that someone made: Doesn't Fox realize that doing something like this just alienates fans of whatever show they do it to, and that those fans are going to be less likely to invest their time in any future new show that Fox comes out with? I know that's true in my case. The last thing I want is to get into another show only to have it end abruptly with no conclusion.

Quala67 12-22-2005 12:53 PM

Can anyone say "Firefly"??

Fox has lost my 'vote' when it comes to trying out new shows.

This is why I attempt to avoid new shows on FOX....they have done this to me a number of times...at least I can now see them on DVD...it started with Kindred: The Embraced and Profit, a few other shows and then Firefly...

grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

That stinks!! I knew the show was going to end early, but at the end of the last show I thought maybe I would learn who ran over the cop!! Why does FOX do this?!?

I heard too that the WB might pick up Reunion because it is made by them. I have heard that people have even emailed the WB execs begging them the continue the show.

Quala67 12-22-2005 02:34 PM

Profit!

Yes, another show I followed on FOX that didn't get a chance. Hmmm...three strikes for FOX for me. Time to play ball somewhere else.

litlbear1072 12-22-2005 02:58 PM

Definitely makes me a little hesitant to get interested in any new FOX shows. Think I'll keep The OC as my token FOX show. I really hope that the WB will pick up Reunion but based on one of the other posts in this thread that doens't sound likely now either. :(

Grrrrrrr is right!

kansas13 12-28-2005 04:39 PM

Thought I posted this here, but I guess not. Found out that someone posted the synopsis of the last shows that were made, but are not going to be aired. Here is the explanation of shows 1995 to 1998. If you don't want to read any spoilers then this isn't the link for you.

Summary of Reunion Episodes 1995 to 1998 **Spoilers**

WCUgirl 12-28-2005 05:13 PM

What bums me out about only reading the recaps is that I don't get to listen to the awesome music they scored for each episode. :(
