The Circle Grows
After many different experiences and travels in my life I was finally initiated into Alpha Gamma Delta last night. I am an alumna member of the Delta Theta chapter at the University of Idaho, and couldn't be happier. Ever since I came here as a student, and now working as a staff member, I have always had friendships with the women in the collegiate and alumnae chapters. It is difficult to choose just a few words to share how I feel, but I'm so proud to call the women here at Delta Theta, the women on GC, and all the women to have come before me sister. I've never felt more love than I have from my sisters, even when they weren't my sisters but my friends and women I've admired.

Congrats hun, I know how long you've wanted this! I'm happy for you. |
When I saw that GC's newest member was VandalSquirrel, I knew right away that it was a sister from Delta Theta!!!
Congratulations on your Initiation. It's a sisterhood that I've been very proud of for the past few years, and I am walking proof that your Alpha Gams are always there for you -- I don't know how many times I've needed help, and yet they were always, always there. I don't know where I'd be today if it weren't for my sisters. Welcome to the Circle of Sisterhood! |
Welcome to our Sisterhood! May it bring you all the happiness that it has brought so many of us over the years!

I've had a great past few days.
I sat with a chapter founder/AI at Feast of Roses and she told some really wonderful stories about her life in the past eighty five years. She is absolutely hysterical and has lived in Idaho for over fifty years but still has her Georgia accent. I'm sure some of you big squirrels have heard stories about her, and Maria has heard me retell a story using an accent. She is going to get the AGR house mother to screen men with her so I can find a suitable husband :P .One really great part was when a chapter advisor and the current president told us the differences between now and then, such as clothing, lunch hour, and curfew. Can anyone imagine not being allowed to wear pants unless it was below zero and the Dean of Women gave the okay? I also helped chaperone the Initiation dance Saturday night, and the girls have made such an effort to include me and get to know me. I've been doing all kinds of other busy work to help out, like folding tablecloths or napkins for professor dinner, but we always have fun and the tasks aren't unpleasant because we're being silly and having a good time. I have to attack my mountain of laundry now, I haven't stopped going since Friday morning. |
YAY for my girl!!
So happy for you Anne... You've wanted this for so long. :) |
Congrats Annie... I am so glad to see an AI so involved. We had AIs initiate when my chapter opened and never heard or saw them again. Congrats!

So...uhhh...how far down the stairs into the study (now the TV room) are my composites?? LOL BIG HAIR ROCKS
When is DT's 50 year coming up? I know it is soon. The 100 year celebration (spring '04?) was a good dry run for DT to start to gather information. I enjoyed your story about sitting next to our dear house asscn. adviser. I have always LOVED her--she rocks! I think we are going to try and bring the kids over next year for the BSU/IDAHO game or Homecoming. Things just get so overwhelming with my kids and their sports. |
I just sent you a personal message asking who you were! I didn't actually think to look at the message... :)
