Its Snowing! :(

It's October 25h and there's 3 inches of snow on the ground in Morgantown, West Virgina. And we're supposed to get 4 more today.

THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE.

sorry, just felt like ranting. anyone else have snow?

CrimsonTide4 10-25-2005 10:36 AM

ISHT!!!

I thought I was tripping when I had to scrape FROST off of my car windows this morning. :(

Yes, it was quite chilly this morning. We went from 85 degrees to 36 degrees in a day.

*dances a sun dance*

I decided it was only necessary to go to one of my three classes today after I nearly busted my ass walking to my first one. For some reason, WV hates clearing sidewalks and I think the university's main goal is to see how many students break bones during the snowy months.

Sistermadly 10-25-2005 01:14 PM

Man, I'm in Canada and we don't even have snow yet.
(Granted it's Vancouver, but still!)

AOX81 10-25-2005 01:14 PM

That sucks! I'm sorry :(

LOL I fought with my roommates last night over the heater. They insisted and it was only sixty degrees. And these are the same people who love to have the AC at 60 in the summer. They're wierd.

I love it!

There's like 5" or so on top of my car.

I had a legit reason to skip class for once. Stayed in bed until noon listening to sirens and transformers blowing up all over town, and found a snowman in our front yard.

The roads aren't bad at all, I went driving around for a little bit.

LightBulb 10-25-2005 03:09 PM

It's pretty cold (wind + that dang pinprick rain) in southwest Virginia too, but no snow here yet *knock on wood*. Good luck up there, neighbor.

We had visible snow falling late yesterday morning and early afternoon in Central Ohio. No accumulation, but it was snow.

DeltAlum 10-25-2005 04:07 PM

70 degrees and slightly overcast in Denver.

It's warmer there than it is here. :(

ZTAngel 10-25-2005 05:01 PM

It's currently 54 but it's windy so it makes it worse. It's supposed to get down to 34 tonight!!! It's not supposed to be this cold in October. The odder part is that it was 86 degrees here last week.

Made my escape just in time!

ADPiZXalum 10-25-2005 05:52 PM

Oh man, it was about 40 today and raining and they are expecting snow soon. This South Texas girl is going to have fun with a real winter in Montreal!

Haha no trust me, after 2 years here I'm well aware that the weather is bad, the only reason for my complains now is that it's OCTOBER. And I'm probably going to freeze to death on Halloween in my tiny costume. The past 2 Halloweens it's been in the 60s, so this snow completely caught me off guard.
Plus, I'm from Maryland and for 18 years I was used to school being canceled for two inches of snow.

Two inches? Heck, we cancel school for the chance of snow! At least if it's early in the season we will....later on, you have to watch the tv until the last minute call at 7:00am. My students are already whining it's cold. "Hey! You don't know what cold IS!...Back when I was in elementary school in Illinois we bundled up in snow suits and waddled around looking like Ralphie in a Christmas Story, and we LIKED it." ::fist slam::

C'mon snow in Virginia!!! (Monday works best for me, so how about a snow day then?)

RioLambdaAlum 10-25-2005 08:43 PM

EEEEWWWWW DON'T PASS IT OVER TO OHIO I DON'T WANT IT!

aephi alum 10-25-2005 09:07 PM

It's too early for snow! :(

We are forecast for wet snow tonight, and we could hit a low of 32 tomorrow night / Thursday morning. And my tomato plants just set new flowers. :( (No big deal, actually - I will be pulling them up in a few days anyway, as I am about to move.)

My commute starts with catching an early-morning train out of Nowhere, CT, just before dawn. What's the coldest part of the day? Just before dawn. :( *hunts for warm pashmina shawl*

AGDee 10-25-2005 10:15 PM

No snow in Michigan <very smug grin>

tinydancer 10-25-2005 10:45 PM

Well, no wonder I haven't heard from the King of West Virginia. He's either stuck in the house or out playing in the snow.

Deeeeeee don't jinx!

I'm hoping it gets a lil warmer for Halloween. My niece's costumes aren't that cute with a jacket on top!

Sorry about the snow guys. :(

Jill1228 10-25-2005 11:49 PM

Ahh Montreal in the winter...gotta love it! NOT! I hope the weather is not too cold when Mr. 1228 heads there in 3 weeks!

We have rain...I hate rain

ZTABullwinkle 10-26-2005 02:01 AM

No snow here...but we did get the twenty-degree drop overnight (last night). Plus it has been overcast and rainy.

The only problem around here is that it is cold - so you wear a sweatshirt, but then you get to the University where it is hot. So, then you take off the sweatshirt. Shortly afterwards the sweathsirt goes back on because it is too cold. This is this part of the weather I hate around here.

For those of you with snow, I think a snowball fight is definitely in order!!!

Exactly.... now you might understand why many prefer winter to a wet fall - snow is much easier to deal with than a cold rain day after day after day.

Here's hoping for snow!

Buttonz 10-26-2005 07:02 AM

I'm so happy that up in RI we have yet to see snow..but I rather see the snow then this rain, I can't take anymore rain!

Oh man, for real, it's been raining for DAYS. I'm so sick of it!! I've been sick for two weeks and everytime I step outside it's stinking 40 degrees and soaking wet. Not a good combo!

PinkRose1098 10-26-2005 11:35 PM

Snow! I thought that this was October - really colorful leaves, football, hot apple cider. Not snow forts and being able to see my breath when I walk outside at noon. This is the weirdest thing to me. I know that this Southern belle is not ready for a Northern winter.

Awww I saw you're in Pittsburgh, get used to some nasty winters. A lot of my friends at school are from there and think a couple inches of snow are nothing.. not me!

Especially since rain can turn to ice and that is way more treacherous than snow.

PM_Mama00 11-23-2005 06:49 PM

It's sooooo purttttty out! It snowed a tiny bit the other day, and it started like that this morning. And nowwwww it's really comin down! Of course I'm liking it more cuz I don't have to drive in it yet, but I always love the first snowfall.

AGDee 11-23-2005 07:15 PM

Yeah, love it, only took me an hour and 15 minutes to get home (usually a 30 minute drive). I have to go to the grocery store and go buy gas and really should go do it before the car is covered again and has to be cleared off again. There's more down here than in Detroit. Ugh. I hate this stuff. But, it's still better than hurricanes, so I'll deal with it...

And now Delta is out in the mid-Atlantic. One more week to go before the official end to the Atlantic hurricane season. *sigh*
