I had a really hard time with this because it depends on whether I'm at home in teeny-tiny Hometown, Tennessee, or in the city of Memphis in the hospital (because I try to sound more professional and watch what kind of words I use). But....

Although all four of my grandparents moved from the deep south to Detroit, they were sticklers for proper English. If my grandmother had a premonition that I was going to utter anything less than proper English, I would get that mama look and quickly reiterate the correct saying. Yeah, I took a little teasing in school but as a 6th grader I was competing in oratorial contests on a high school level and actually won a few.
