The Colbert Report

Does anyone know if and when this might get picked up in Canada. My husband and I were looking forward to watching the debut last night after the Daily Show, but, alas, the Comedy Network is not yet airing it. Not sure if it might have followed the Daily Show on CTV - couldn't stay up that late.

Monday was the debut, and it was very funny.

Stone Phillips was a major guest, and he was funny too.

Suspect this will hurt Letterman/Leno, but it's also repeated at 10:30 am and 2:30 pm - so you can see two of the three.

Hope they can keep up the level of writing.

Its also repeated at 8:30 pm as well right after the Daily Show repeat at 8...thats when I normally catch it.

It is a brilliant at the Daily Show with John Stewart.

Stone Phillips was more funny than Leslie Stahl...Cobert is a HOOT!

Definitely worth watching!

Just found out this week that the Colbert Report will begin airing in Canada on Monday (Nov 7) on the Comedy Network and CTV following the Daily Show.

The show segment with Kens Burns was great.

The critics are panning Cobert, but it has a lot of good parts.

Did anyone see the paddle he has in that bookshelf? It had the greek letters: Tau Gamma Rho...

I was sitting there trying to figure out what it stood for and I think they were trying to do The Colbert Report but someone needs to tell them that Gamma isnt the right greek letter to use.

i saw a "best of the colbert report" dvd at bestbuy yesterday.

we just bought his book, but my son is hogging it! he says it is brillant.

I never knew there was thread for this show on GC. This is one of my favorite shows. His book is hilarious esp. the little notes in the margins that are kind of like "The Word" is on the TV show.

Nu_Pi_Sinfonian 01-24-2008 02:57 AM

so apparently you dont know your greek alphabet. Alpha is A. Beta is B. Gamma however is translated to G. there is no greek translation for C. although its stands to reason that is why they used gamma for his paddle, you should probably know what you are talking about before you call people retards

BabyPiNK_FL 01-24-2008 12:35 PM

He could have easily used CHI which is like "CH" (We do Pi Chi for Panhellenic Council at my school). Or if he wanted to do it phonetically then he could have used Kappa. Ka is ka no matter how you say it.

Drolefille 01-24-2008 06:37 PM

I don't know that it must have a deep motive behind it. Either the person who made it didn't know better, or they consciously chose Gamma for some reason. Possibly because it looked nice and even those unfamiliar with the Greek alphabet usually know Alpha, Beta, Gamma
