New 007 Revealed...

...looks like the rumours from the past few days are true. The new Bond is Daniel Craig, who'll be the first blond 007...maybe I'm just used to Pierce Brosnan, but I don't think this guy "looks right"

LONDON - Blond. James Blond.

Daniel Craig, a 37-year-old, sandy-haired Englishman was introduced Friday as the new James Bond, ending months of speculation.

His selection was revealed as he was whisked down the Thames River aboard a military Rigid Raider boat to a news conference.

Boooo... I wanted Clive Owen.

Am I the only one who doesn't think this guy is attractive AT ALL?

Ok, good. :)

I second that....yuk

Give me back Pierce Brosnan or as someone just mentioned Clive Owen.....

I will reserve judgment, but so far this man does not seem attractive at all.

Sistermadly 10-14-2005 12:30 PM

Or if they had to go blonde (meh), Ewan McGregor would have been an interesting Bond. Or Sean Bean (yeah, I know he was 006, but work with me - he would've been AWESOME!).

And I'm glad to know I'm not the only woman who is interested in Bond flicks. I've seen every single one of them, and I'm always in the theatre for opening weekend when a new one comes out. :)

Glad to know I'm not the only rabid James Bond fan who follows tradition... :D (Been doing it since Moonraker.)

Kind of a change of pace, but let's at least reserve judgment on Daniel Craig until we see him actually perform in a film or two. (Yeah, yeah, George Lazenby had the looks, and was a diamond in the rough, but taking bad advice and pissing off Cubby Broccoli in the process doesn't help your budding acting career.)

Sorry, James Bond will always be Sean Connery to me.

I'm with you. Roger Moore is the runner-up for me.

I never liked Pierce Brosnan -- just can't see him as anyone but Remington Steele, and I didn't like Remington Steele.

Ditto! SOOOO sexy. Goldfinger is by far my favorite Bond film. Pierce is runner up for me.

I'm not a huge Bond fan though.... I won't watch one that isn't either Sean or Pierce. :)

They should do a movie with Sean Connery as a "called back from retirement" 007.

Now I think that idea has some merit. I'd go see it!

Man, Lazenby was the Best. Bond. Ever. It didn't hurt that he had Diana Rigg in the movie with him, but On Her Majesty's Secret Service is the most awesome old school Bond movie.

Of the new ones, I'd have to say it's a toss-up between Goldeneye and Die Another Day.

They have - 1983's "Never Say Never Again".

Which, technically, is a remake of Thunderball. The story of the legal wrangling over Thunderball can fill a book and would bore anyone but a rabid James Bond fan.

My takes on the Bonds:

Sir Sean Connery - The original, the best. There is no substitute.
George Lazenby - Diamond in the rough, had potential if he didn't take bad advice and piss off Cubby and Harry.
Sir Roger Moore - Not bad in his first outing (Live and Let Die), went downhill rapidly until he hit rock bottom in the slapstick comedy that (IMNSHO) Moonraker was. Slight improvement noted until his last film (A View to a Kill).
Timothy Dalton - Deadly serious approach to 007, but people weren't quite ready after years of Sir Roger.
Pierce Brosnan - A mix to please both the Connery and Moore camps, but the movies relied on way too much CGI special effects to carry the movie.

Sorry, I meant using Connery at his present age...

He's still a damned good actor...and a great voice.

LOL, my mom would probably camp out overnight to get tickets for THAT movie!!!

I can't believe Pierce Brosnan has been de-Bonded. He is so freakin' hot. I know, I know I tell my kids they're not to say "freakin" this or that but I can't help it; the man is freakin' hot.

His likeness and voice are featured in the upcoming video game by EA Games of From Russia With Love.

Just blows me away at how lifelike these video games are!

Pierce Brosnan IS Bond. After Sean Connery of course. I think they should have kept him.

Well, there's always the short films Owen did for BMW - "The Hire". http://www.bmwfilms.com . They're to be released on DVD soon, so they're only available for viewing until October 21. Watch "The Hostage" and tell me he wouldn't have made a fantastic Bond!
