High school class ring
Do you still wear yours? I wear mine pretty much every day.
I went to a Catholic high school, and everyone has the same design (tradition - same design since before class rings [it was on a pendant]), except for different initials, graduating year, and whether it is yellow or white gold. When I'm in my hometown (Memphis), strangers occasionally recognize it. PS - My ring now complements my sorority pin well. ;) The center has a black triangle with the school's initials in Greek, and the triangle is surrounded by pearls. |
I wear my hs class ring every single day!!
It's one of the squarish ones (but it's small and delicate looking) with a rose zircon stone (my birthstone) and it's two-tone-- the ring itself is white gold and then the stone is bordered by yellow gold. Maybe I'll take a picture of it later if I'm not too lazy:D |
I didn't wear mine too often, and I knew I wouldn't. Mine is white-gold plated with a filigree design with a blue stone, with my grad year on one side. It has since done nothing but sit in my jewlery box ever since I graduated.
(Edited because my grammar was horrible.) |
Never got a class ring, for either high school or college. About 50% of my high school class got rings, but I didn't think I'd wear it much once I got to college.
What I almost got was a letterman jacket; however, it would have cost quite a bit for the jacket, and I didn't think I'd wear it in college. I was correct. |
I really liked my high school ring...it was small, and really cute. Unfortunately I left it in my long-distance ex's dorm room while we were dating and somehow the idiot lost it...he never would explain to me what happened to it. I think it was stolen along with his wallet one time.

My ex from high school still has my ring...and I have his somewhere...

I don't really ever wear mine - it has always been a little bit too big and I just don't wear a lot of jewelry. Not surprisingly, I didn't buy a college ring.
|
I don't even know where my HS class ring is...?
|
I bought mine in Grade 9 when they were still selling the older, bigger model. I never wear it because my hands are so tiny that it overwhelms it! Most of my friends got their rings in Grade 12 or 13 (yeah, we used to have a fifth year of high school in Ontario) when the school changed companies that made smaller ones.
|
I stopped wearing my high school ring when I went to college. Haven't worn it once since then, but it is still packed away somewhere safe and sound.
The Aggie Ring is a HUGE deal at A&M, and getting mine was a big accomplishment. I still wear that one every single day. :) |
I wore mine every single day until I got engaged, reason being that the ring I wore on my left ring finger now occupies my right ring finger, which is where I wore my high school ring.
Mr. AXiD670's hs girlfriend of six years still has his ring. He attempted to get it back from her about a year ago or so, now that she's married. She was rather uncooperative and he was not successful. |
I still have my high school class ring. In those days all Columbus Public high schools had the same ring, with only the letter representing the school being different.
I wore it until the future Mrs. DA bought an Ohio University class ring for me, which I still wear every day. I've thought about having DTD letters added to the stone, but never got around to it. It looks pretty much like the top one below, although in 18k gold. One one side it has my graduation year and the a replica of the bell tower on Cutler Hall at O.U. and on the other side, my degree, BSC, the Great Seal of The State of Ohio and a Bobcat head. Around the stone, it says Ohio University 1804 which is our founding year. http://www.artcarved.com/portalimage...moring_img.jpg The stone is green for the College of Communication. |
Until I got my college ring (which wasn't till a few years after graduation because the ones they had the year I graduated were fugly) I still wore my HS ring every day. Not so much from love of high school, but because it's a pretty ring.
The only thing I don't like is it has a rainbow effect under it and so I had to take it off every time I washed my hands - another girl had the same thing on hers and left it on and her stone turned brown. |
I loved my hs class ring, but lost it one day when I was helping an ex dig his back tires out of the mud( we had gone mudding, and he had gotten stuck, and it was after my curfew, and I was a bit drunk, and it sounded like a good idea at the time)-and at some point in the night I lost it.
I never got a college ring either. |
My high school class ring fell down the garbage disposal, and as I was reaching my hand in to get it out, my brother (who claims he was teasing me) turned it on!
What's left of it is in my jewelry box, and is the reason I didn't bother with a college one. |
I wear my H.S. ring on some occassions - Msgr. Scanlan ('93)
|
I never got a high school one. I knew I probably would never wear it. I might get my college one when I graduate because I like the way it looks.
|
I had a high school one, that I didn't wear after i graduated. So it was tucked away in my jewelry box until those cheal *ss burglars carted off all my good jewelry - including the high school class ring (not tomention family heirlooms).
So some person in the area is wearing my ring or they melted it down for the gold.... |
I have absolutely no idea where mine is - I think I stopped wearing it halfway through freshman year of college.
|
I haven't worn mine since high school, but I love it. It's white gold with a white stone. It has my name and swimming on one side, and 2002 and the fine arts on the other.
|
I had 2 HS rings....
the first was small square design in white gold, with a blue stone and our mascot.....it got stolen right under my nose during dance practice. - bought by mom...never told her it was stolen 2nd ring same exact design except in yellow gold, I hated the white gold, b/c it looked funny to me, besides our colors are blue and gold, so it look "normal".... bought by my father, I wore it everyday for over 10 years...never took it off, until it just got too tight on my finger, I wore it on my middle finger, it looked better than my ring finger, I put it one of my jewelry boxes and lost it. I've been thinking lately about getting a new one. |
My mother has my HS class ring and I haven't worn it since I was in HS. She put it in this display along with my latter jacket, my medals and my other patches and all that other HS stuff.
|
I stopped wearing mine the day I graduated from high school. I really wish I hadn't gotten one because it was such a waste of money.
I have it somewhere in a jewelry box at my parents' house. |
I think my husband has mine somewhere. I only wore mine for a few months before we exchanged them. My college ring, though, I wear daily. I love it. It doesn't have a stone, it's just white gold with an E and an oak leaf on the front.

I stopped wearing mine about three years after I graduated. I have a University ring that I love, but I don't wear much anymore, mainly because I tend to only wear rings on my left hand. These days I only wear my engagement ring and wedding band.
|
My high school class ring is sitting in my jewelry box. I haven't worn it since my sophomore year in college.
|
I didn't bother with an HS class ring. Most of my class didn't. They cost alot, and I knew I wouldn't wear it after high school.
I do, however, plan on getting a college ring. |
I got mine freshman year of high school and LOVED it.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...schoolring.jpg 14k gold, Pirate on one side and tennis with my name above it on the other, and my initials on either side, with a Pirate ship on the garnet stone. I loved that ring. I lost it once, found it. Now, just like every sentimental piece of jewelry in my room, it has gone missing. I'm sure it'll pop up one day in the same exact place I've been looking all these years, just like the other jewelry. It was $200some at that time in 1995. I wore it every day in high school, and sometimes after graduation. (I was the first in my class to get my varsity jacket freshman year, and I wore that all the time too. I dreaded having to put it away for the season) My college ring I'm in looooove with too. Traditional style Michigan ring with the blue stone and gold Phi Mu letters on the stone. One side has my degree, Communications and B.A. The other side says Wolverines and has this really ugly wolverine. Around the stone on the gold part it says University of Michigan. That one was $600. My high school ring was far nicer, but I guess in 10 years prices shot up? |

I wore my high school ring up until about 2 months before I separated from the navy when I got a "navy" ring. It looks like a high school ring, except around the top it says "United States Navy" It has the december birthstone and it's got my rate symbol for IT(my job) etched in the stone. One side of it has AOE-7 (which was my ships hull number) and "Operation Iraqi Freedom" and the other side says "Operation Enduring Freedom". One day I'll get a college ring too, but I want to make sure I'm actually going to graduate the year that i get put on it first.
My high school ring had a bulldog (our mascot was a Hoya - like Georgetown) on one side and the otherside had marching band. Stone had a saxophone in it. |
I didn't get a ring because at the time you had to have the school mascot on the side and an activity on the other. I could have cared less about my high school's mascot. I wanted the two activities I was most involved in on either side. The ring rep said that wasn't doable. I bought myself a ring with just my birthstone and plain band.
Of course after I graduate, the ring trend changed to where you could have that option. It figures. |
I think my ring is in my jewelry box somewhere, but I haven't worn it since I graduated high school.
|
Mine's yellow gold with an onyx stone on top with a gold cross etched into it. Onone side is soccer, with my number, on the other is volleyball and basketball.
I wore it till about halfway through my freshman year. I just decided I was over it one day, and left it in the jewelry box where I keep sentimental jewelry (like things that were my grandfather's, and some pendants I've received). Everynow and then I'll pull it out, just to look. But that's it. |
I quit wearing mine my sophomore year in college. However, I've recently started to wear mine again for old time's sake due to I'm back at my high school doing some hours for my education classes.
I LOVED my ring :) I was one of the few in my class that DIDN'T get my birthstone, I got my school colors :) http://www.artcarved.com/images/rings/LCAME_S.jpg This is what it basically looked like except it had "GAHS" on the top, which had a blue stone. It has "Devils" w/Tennis on one side w/"Kayla" and band on the other side. I loved my ring :) |
