Dear Angela Simmons & Mrs. Run - STOP CRYING! Its Not. That. Serious! Shoot - some folks can't afford to have a party - AND YOU WANT TO SPEND $100,000 for some fireworks, $10,000 to cover a frickin' pool?

Oh and

PS

PSS

Run - if you just have $$ to throw away like that - you can come pay off my house. I'd reaaaaalllllllllyyyyyy appreciate it.

***sidenote - why am I just remembering that Run & Russell Simmons are brothers?

You said everything I wanted to say, Soror. I don't think Angela is spoiled though. It seems like she really appreciates everything her family gives her.

The girls' accents are ridiculous. :o
I was :D when the oldest son said "You're on some Paris Hilton, Nickie Ritchie stuff". Tell 'em!

I really liked this first episode, so I will definitely be tuning in.

DSTCHAOS 10-13-2005 11:29 PM

I was entertained.

I laughed when the girl thought Funk Master Flex (or whoever) would DJ her bday party.

I also laughed when Run said "DJ high school" and "lunch buddy." :D

This show was hella interesting. I marvel at the lifestyle of the rich and famous.

I am curious though, the oldest 3 have a different mom, where is she? Who is she? etc etc etc

Yes she wanted a LOT for her graduation party.

ladylike 10-14-2005 09:53 AM

Is the step-mother a little "challenged"? She seems so...:o

Diggy and Russell are killing me, especially when they were playing in the pool and Russell got bopped upside the head. It reminds me of playing with my brothers when we were younger.

The family seems pretty tight-knit. :) Taking into account her grades and how she conducts herself, Angela appears to be raised right.

Anybody know if Rev. Run has a church?

Man, I thought the same thing. Like maybe she was valedictorian of the SPED kids. :o :p

LOL :D :o

Since we're both going to hell on a scholarship, you wanna be my roommate? You bring the phone and answering machine and I will bring the t.v. and refrigerator. :D :p

Question: If Russell is the uncle, why is the youngest named Russell, Jr.? Can a son be named after someone other than this father and still be a "Jr."?

Again, I wondered the same thing. But maybe that's his way of loving his brother. If I have a son and named it after my brother, he would not be Brandon, Jr.

You'll also need to bring the DVD player for the DVDs I will be providing.:p

ladylike 10-14-2005 10:24 AM

^^That's what I'm saying!! I wouldn't name my child "Brandon, Jr.", either (is your brother named Brandon? I have a younger brother by the name of Brandon).

I found myself lookin' at the lil' boy to see if he looked like Russell. :o All trying to determine if somebody was [Bobby from "The Proud Family"] "Creeeeeepin, ya'llllllll" [/Bobby].

This might be my new show right after MTB3.

Okay seriously, are you me? I did not want to throw out there that Russell, Jr. might be Russell's son, but LMAO, yes, Creep creep creep.

Yes, my only sibling is Brandon. :) We wrestled, played Dukes of Hazard together, down the man, and that wretched Star Wars with L.D. :p

ladylike 10-14-2005 11:14 AM

I'm looking at lil' Russell but I can't tell because he has that oblong head just like his daddy(Rev. Run) and his uncle-daddy (Russell).

My brothers and I used to wrestle (just straight Jimmie "Supafly" Snuka my little brother), race in the streets (which is hard to do when you're wearing jellies), play school (they didn't really want to do that but I beat it into 'em). :D

My favorite game was "Just to see what would happen".

Me: Brandon---stick all these pennies up you nose, you know, just to see what would happen.

Brandon: Uhhh, okay.

Me: Brandon--swallow these buttons, you know, just to see what would happen.

Brandon: Uhhhh, okay.

the two younger boys seem to be "touched" also. All those kids, except the oldest one need braces.

I love this show! I wonder if all episodes will be like that, but I enjoyed how the show opened and closed with Rev Run and Mrs. Simmons in bed a la "The Cosby Show". Rev Run is hilarious. That "DJ High School" name was too funny!

Angela Simmons was bordering too much on a brat. She's been watching way too much TV thinking she's supposed to have a fabulous party a la Super Sweet 16. :o Dad wasn't so cheap after all when she got the keys to a Benz. Shawty..... I wish I could've gotten keys to anything at 16...

I'm looking forward to watching this. My brother and I watched it three times over the weekend.

Was that the first show? I watched it this weekend too and thought it was very funny. They accent reminded me of my cousins from NY/NJ that used to come to Georgia every summer and we would tease them about the way they talked, then try to pick up the accent. LOL

I didn't think Angela was that bad. I thought she was a typical slightly dramatic teenager. I remember the fight my mom and I had about my sweet 16 birthday party because she wanted it to be "invitation only" and in my home town, the best parties were the ones where everyone just kinda showed up, and there were people from all of the high schools, even ones that you didn't know. I thought my mother was trying to ruin my social life and she was afraid of thugs! LOL After some dramatic histronics on my part, she agreed with me and there were no thugs (well, not real bad ones) at the party! LOL

CrimsonTide4 10-20-2005 10:35 PM

Diggy got 50 Cent's teeth.:o :p

nom d'plume 10-20-2005 11:00 PM

Did Run's wife say that she needed could use a Slim Jim?

Yeah, before that she said she was hungry.

Diggy and Russell, Jr have perpetual raspiness to their voices. I am wondering if Chloraseptic spray or a Halls would help.

Conskeeted7 10-23-2005 02:15 AM

This show is so funny. How did I miss it the first few weeks? I just saw 2 episodes over the weekend. Run was hilarious when he was planning the birthday party for Angela. I agree that they need to get a sponsorship from Halls to clear the little boys' throats. I'll definiltey be tuning in.

Then you're all caught up. There's only been 2 eps so far. Thursday nights right after Making the Band. :)

ladylike 10-23-2005 09:14 AM

The sex talks with Diggy and Russy had me cracking up.

Run didn't know up from down after talking with Russy. One minute the boy has a girlfriend, then he has a girl that's a friend, then she's his friend who told him she liked him, but she's his girlfriend and he doesn't have her phone number. *whew* :D :p

I love this show.

Lady2000 10-23-2005 11:22 PM

Totally Ashamed!

Okay I didn't know Run and Russel Simmons were brothers. Or did I misunderstand.

What's up with the white rappers and why did they remind me of Beastie Boys 05.

PhDiva 10-24-2005 12:32 AM

Okay, so am I the only person kinda turned off by the way Russell (Run's brother) talks and conducts a business meeting? Was all that cursing necessary? Granted, I thought those white cats looked and sounded like clowns but they didn't need Russell talking like "he ain't a business man, just a n**** with a business" to figure out those fools didn't have any talent.

Run's talk with the boys about sex was hilarious. The "help me to help you so I can give a report back to mommy" line was too funny.

kiml122 10-24-2005 08:48 AM

I am so hooked on this show since the first ep that it's not even funny. I remember when Run was married the first time, and I remember him getting divorced and marrying Justine. I was saying the same thing to one of my friends when we were watching it as far as the first ep and the mom not coming to Angela's graduation. Did I say that I am so hooked on this show. The first ep I must have watched over at least a minimum of 4 times.

I said the same thing as far as why Russell was name Russell Jr. Run having the sex talk was hella-funny....Ummm did I say that I am hooked on this show...for real I am so hooked.:D

AKA2D '91 10-24-2005 01:57 PM

I really enjoy this show too. Run and Justine (from the outside) seem to have done a great job with the kids. It's not all of the madness we saw with Bobby and Whitney.

Ok, so Angela isn't Justine's child? I thought they kinda looked alike which is why i asked. Is it just me or is Run kinda out there sometimes? I mean, when they were in the bed and she said she was hungry she asked him if she could get somethin to eat and he was like "naw, it's too late for that". I was like WTH? I c i'm not ready 4 marriage. Then she got the rubbish guys some water before she got him his and he lost it! I was LOL when the white guy made his little smart alec comment tho!

I believe that only Diggy and Russell Jr. are Justine and Run's kids together. Joey, Vanessa, and Angela are from his previous marriage.
