Beautiful Pin on EBAY

http://cgi.ebay.com/Antique-10K-Lamb...QQcmdZViewItem

The sister's name is also on the back (with the date).

The link isn't working for me right now, so I did a search and found this.

WTF? I'm assuming it's not ours, but who knows. It's great for a faternity/sorority pin collectoer -- LOL @ faternity.

Hey ladies, sorry to crash! But right now there is a beautiful jeweled lazy phi badge on Ebay. It is engraved on the back with a name and the date 1891. I don't know if Alpha Phi has a badge rescue group, but I really hope that this badge gets back to archives at your headquarters or at the very least is purchased by a sister.

Katmandu 04-12-2008 08:01 AM

Sorry to crash also, but was browsing ebay today and WOW, the antique lazy phi pin currently listed is one of the most beautiful sorority pins I have ever seen, from any organization. Best of luck. I sincerely hope you keep it in the Alpha Phi family.

Is this just an old style?

APhi4Ever 04-12-2008 09:45 AM

Those are older styled badges.

APhi4Ever 04-12-2008 09:45 AM

Also, you are not crashing, you are all more than welcome to post :)

The pin I was refering to is this ebay number shown above. Sorry, couldn't figure out a link....

It is an 1891 lazy phi with 3 diamonds and 23 rubies on the Alpha. It is stunning.

AXi1257 04-13-2008 08:21 PM

The lazy phi pin bid is up to over $500, but it will go for so much more! I hope an A Phi ends up with it! I did notice the seller is raising funds for autism- another great reason to bid!

Maharet 04-14-2008 08:40 AM

Yes....yes it will go for so much more.....;)

SthrnZeta 04-17-2008 11:40 PM

I just saw the lazy phi pin is above $900. I was stunned to see it go for so much but realized because of its rarity and age, I'd be surprised if it went for less than $1,000! I sure hope a sister gets it...

I guess this is a kin to us seeing a ZTA Honor Ring on Ebay  I hope y'all are as lucky as us (a Zeta got the ring).

How is it that your badges can be sold on eBay? Are they not exclusively for members only?

It's over $1,000 now. How is it that this same dance company obtained at least two really rare and really old Alpha Phi pins?

Maharet 04-18-2008 05:22 PM

I am in near tears - I was outbid and the pin was won by a collector and not an Alpha Phi...$2300 + I feel sooooo sad right now.

SWTXBelle 04-18-2008 05:54 PM

I am so sorry - it hurts when a collector gets them. :(

Katmandu 04-18-2008 07:23 PM

I am so sorry. I was hoping an APhi would win that beauriful and historic pin. It is a sick feeling to have these treasures go out of the family. It takes some pretty deep pockets, though, even to attempt a rescue.

RaggedyAnn 04-19-2008 07:05 AM

That is a bummer. I'm glad they had to pay a lot for the badge. Collectors suck!

I feel horrible. I was watching this one and was really sad to see a collector got it. They got one of our badges last week but I know how special this one was due to its rare design. At least they had to shell out some serious dough for it but they obviously knew how valuable it was. :( That just sucks though.

MReed1081 04-25-2008 09:12 AM

I thought "technically" Alpha Phi owned that Pin?

Xidelt 07-25-2008 05:25 AM

There is a piece of the stair rail from the first Alpha Phi chapter house on ebay:
