prayers for my dad
 

I just got back from the hospital where my father just had a triple by pass surgery. Went into his Kaiser Dr last thursday complaining of shortness of breath and mild chest pains ...she admitted him that day and had a cardiac catherization performed and found damage to the heart......they peformed surgery today in Los Angeles and they had a hard time stablizing his Blood Pressure in recovery...so the next 24 hrs will be critical.


trying to keep my mom's spirits up the kaiser in LA was on Sunset ( Hollywood for non locals) and right accross the street was the entrance for the scientology complex.....my sister in law and i were like every 5 minutes... "Mom .... hey look Tom Cruise no wait Its John and kelly travolta" anyways if you all could send prayers this way i would really appriviate it!:)

I'm sorry you're having to deal with this. I hope & pray he comes out of it strong & healthy. Prayers being sent your way.

Thanks everyone soooooo Very much for your prayers and good wishes! Today they did remove the vent and actually had him sitting in a chair.........WOW is all i have to say from what i saw the day prior right after surgery. His Blood Pressure they fially got stablized. The nurse stressed a lot about the pain he was exp.....well heck yeah i told my mother ....chest was cut wide open.... but they also went to three diff sites for veins. I guess my understanding those sites are even more painful than surgery.

I told my mother if all goes well and he comes home on time ( sunday can you imagaine that ) it is like a baby all over again no strength and dependent on everything....but now all is repaired and caught early enough to cause no more damage.

How's he doing now? Did he come home on Sunday?

I didn't see this thread until today. I hope your dad is doing well and will keep you and your family in my thoughts. My maternal grandfather had a triple bypass in 1982 and had another 22 very happy years before we lost him last year.

Here's to hoping he gets well soon!

Hello all! he came home last night ( oct 18) he was in Kaiser in hollywood for a long time ( they also performed the bypass there) and they released him home he was hme and after 2 days he was re admitted to a local kaiser perm near us in Fontana.....my mom took him to the ER at midnight because he couldnt breath he felt like his heart was racing a mile a minute he caught pneuomina and being diabetic he had an infection at the site where they took the vein. Most of all he lost so much blood they have been transfusing him this past week in the hospital.

BUT the extreme antibiotics they gave him kicked the infection and pneuemonia , he is still dealing with filberation of the heart , he is on blood thinners and is sooooo very weak. in the 3 week time frame of everything he has lost 25 to 30 lbs.

I just came from the house after work and he says he feels better today but didnt sleep good last night.


But thank you everyone for keeping all of us in your prayers that means sooo much to me!
