Shippensburg University 6 new AM's Fall 2005

Lenoxxx

ZetaPhi708 09-27-2005 09:58 PM

University of Tennessee at Chattanooga= 31 Associates

According to Vanderbilt's website, they have 7.

jcloud_lca 09-28-2005 02:19 AM

We have 18 down here at Oklahoma State!!

Restructuring and should have more numbers next year.

EM1843 09-28-2005 09:22 AM

I believe we have about 25 at UF. I know my family just got 7 new additions.

Tennessee rush results

32 associates at Tennessee. The rush numbers for all fraternities were lower this year with only one fraternity (Pike) getting over 40 rushees. The way they did rush was stupid with 2 days of walk throughs and it turned a lot of guys off to rush because they did not want to sit through boring walk throughs for two days.
This rush class is top notch, one of the best on campus and the quality is through the roof. We are extremely happy, best class we have had in 3 years and our chapter has been doing very well right now with over 100 members.

lifesaver 09-28-2005 12:28 PM

The guys at UIW associated 9 new AM's. Their goal is 15, so they arent done recruiting yet. There was about 14 guys that went through formal rush. The chapter cut hard for grades.

I think they did pretty good considering they are on defered recruitment and cant sign first semester freshman.

There are quite a few guys who want to rush but have to wait till the spring. I think they are set as future AM's. They come to the chapter meetings.

HONKY660 09-28-2005 03:43 PM

University of Texas-El Paso

At UTEP we associated 15 on thursday, and we possibly will associate another ten on monday. This will double our chapter size. I think we will have the largest new member class on campus, beating out Kappa Sigma who ranked in the top 10 in recruitment among all Kappa Sig chapters.

As some of You Know, LX Z has fallen on tough times.:(

But some good News! 3 Brothers who dropped out because of circumstances I dont want to go into are coming back with Our 1 Active which will give us 4 again.

We do have 2 PNAs and am hoping for a few more.

It will take some time and with the Help Of IHQ, We are going to come back as a # 1 Chapter on Campus again.

Congratulations so far to all of the Brothers with some Fantastic Numbers!

Roy, this is great!!!!!:D Andy, Fantastic, You Brothers have done a Da Great Job.

lenoxxx 09-29-2005 10:02 PM

Tom,

As probably the guy that cares more about his own chapter than anyone else on here, or for any Greek on here (any school, any time, any age etc. for that matter) I hope that all your dreams come true at Pitt State LCA and that you have a great rush this year and an incredible house in which to put all of those young brothers in for many years to come in a few months. If we could put your dedication in a bottle, we'd all be better for it.

Pitt State- get it done for Tom, he deserves it! Please let us know how it turns out Tom!

UNC has 7 associates thus far, and 2 outstanding bids, and more interested members....not a bad class for UNC's greek system.

iMAX386 09-30-2005 03:27 AM

Theta-Delta Zeta at Oklahoma City University got 20 new associates during Fall rush.

Considering the small size of the Greek system at OCU, this is an amazing class quality and quantity-wise. It's the biggest class our chapter has had since 2000.

We still have one guy who's showing interest in taking a snap bid, but his parents are holding him back right now. We're trying to pick him up this semester, but if not, he'll be a lock for Spring.

Our High Delta did an awesome job this recruitment season. We only lost out on about 2-3 guys that we really wanted. Otherwise, we got all our rush crushes and most the kids off our wish list.

Florida State

Florida State set a chapter and school record with 64 associate members. That is way too many if you ask me but congratulations because that is quite an accomplishment.

I would be dreading initiation with that many....wow.

Tom Earp 10-04-2005 04:38 PM

You can say that again!!!

Wowie, Hats off, be prepared for a long night or toatal weekend. Was there for 14 and butt was draggin for sure. But When You Have a Ritual such as Ours Well What does one expect.

Some good news for LX Z. Three ex Actives are joing back in to the Ranks.

We are slowly picking up PNAs as I typo! Granted, a New House Helps, but they will find out soon that LXA is more than a House. Kids today have little Money and dont understand what a Fraternity for Life is.

:)

Lenoxxx I was remiss in saying that there is not a Member Brother on Site Who is no different than My Self including You, Otter, Jono, lifesaver, Etal!

iMAX386 10-04-2005 05:02 PM

I know Gamma-Rho Zeta at University of Oklahoma got 69 guys. From what I hear that was #1 of all houses at OU. Their class included starting OU quarterback Rhett Bomar.

EM1843 10-04-2005 07:08 PM

FSU, UCF, and other "huge" chapters have created a system for initiation. We used some of their methods for our largest classes.

HONKY660 10-04-2005 09:27 PM

For the FSU LCA 64 AM's great, since there biggest competition out there is PIKE and they have been fraternity of the year for 3 yrs straight, so horray for FSU and there new house. Most large chapters like that have rituals teams.

NSUCHOP302 10-07-2005 05:32 PM

Here at Northeastern State University we got 28 New Associate Members, and for the record from what I have heard from someone is that OU got 85 along with Rhett Bomar but don't quote me on this.

lenoxxx 10-07-2005 06:30 PM

85 associates? That is unreal!

Congratulations on your 28 at NSU, a great accomplishment.

Seems like overall from what little we see on here that rush is going comparatively well at all of the zetas represented based on campus and prior years and results ( keeping things like FSU's & OU's incredible numbers in comparison to there relative size etc.)

I wonder how the fall will shake out for the fraternity as a whole?

boz130 10-07-2005 06:36 PM

According to chapter members @ Illinois State, they gave bids to 16 guys-all but one accepted (the rugby team held sway).

Mooch279 10-08-2005 10:37 AM

Well I went to our AM ceremony last night, UMBC got 13 new members. That is the highest rush for us in 12 years. and the guys are trying to pick a good number more with a second round of events.

lenoxxx 10-08-2005 10:56 AM

That is great for UMBC, I always recall recruitment being a weak point for the chapter in years past.

Awesome for Phi Delta Zeta

University of Akron (Gamma Alpha Zeta) proud to have 14 new Associate Members this semester

lenoxxx 10-09-2005 02:40 PM

Stephen,

Welcome to the online LCA group. Hey Since you are from Syracuse, what ever happened to that chapter? Will it ever come back, with almost 2000 alumni and at one time a huge house (I saw it in the Ped) I was always curious to what when on and if it will ever come back? Was that house sold, does it get leased to someone else?

Lenoxxx

Tom Earp 10-09-2005 05:12 PM

Stephne, just want to Echo My Fellow Brothers. Welcome aboard. MANY Neat Brothers on Site!!!

Congratulations on Recruitmemt!:D

Oh, and to each of You!

au891 10-14-2005 10:44 PM

Syracuse Chapter

Unfortunately gentlemen - Syracuse chapter folded in mid 1990's --- there has been much talk from national about getting that chapter started back up again --- there is a base group of alumni that would be interested in seeing a recolonization, but they are spread out across the Northeast US right now. I do not think there is a strong enough group of Syracuse area alumni that could actively support the efforts....

I relocated to the Akron, Ohio area for work this past spring and have connected with the local (Univ of Akron) chapter here. Outstanding group of men!

New AMs

The Colony at Sam Houston State University just started up this semester, Fall 05', and we already have 32 AMs that are going to be members on Nov. 18. We are very excited to get initiated and get our charter. :D

HONKY660 10-23-2005 07:44 AM

How big are the other fraternities at Sam Houston?

Ryan400z 10-23-2005 12:18 PM

Looks like the average size is around 35. Two or three fraternities have 40-49 members but most have around 22-30.

NSUCHOP302 10-23-2005 03:24 PM

With our 28 new guys it jumped us up to 66 guys strong, Im loving it!!!

jcloud_lca 10-24-2005 02:10 PM

My big is from the Delta Beta chapter at NSU. DB 279. Don't know if you know him, but he is pretty cool.

NSUCHOP302 10-24-2005 03:40 PM

Shane Reid Huh? Yeah I know him.

Tom Earp 10-24-2005 03:58 PM

John, not only do I know your big brother Shane, I also know HIS big brother Andy Reibenstein, DB 257. It is, indeed, a small world. Glad to hear you guys are doing so well at Oklahoma State.

Jono

zero445544 10-24-2005 04:35 PM

The usual size I would say is maybe 20-50 members per fraternity. We are bigger than some that have been around for a while. We are the new fraternity on campus and we are turning heads everywhere we go. We even got ourselves on Fox Sports when SHSU played SFA supporting our newly made letters and the founding fathers t-shirts. A few of the guys painted themselves in orange paint with SHSU on the front and /\XA on the back they made sure to get the camera man to get a shot of our letters.

jcloud_lca 10-25-2005 02:46 AM

Yea Andy is one smart cat. I think our family has knowledge running through its vains. Me and my big are prob. the two smartest in our house when it comes to knowledge dealing with history. I am going to run for Sigma next year. I figured it is the best way to get going. I would be on exec, and be involved with everyone. CI week is next week and then followed by I week. I can't wait.

Soon to be in ZAX

jcloud_lca 10-25-2005 03:07 AM

Well Brian i guess my big knows you also. I hope you are doing good things with your chapter down there. Pres. better keep up on his stuff. Don't be to hard on my buddy adam down there. I am planning to come down pretty soon to check it out. See ya soon.

fsulxa 12-30-2005 01:12 AM

I am a brother at Florida State and we did get 64 new AMs but they are all high class guys and we were known to easily have the best class on campus. although it does sound like way to many, we all know that because of the way Lambda Chi alpha opperates we have easily created strong bonds with every associate. There is now about 50 assoiciates.
