The Gilmore Girls airs on your local WB station every Tuesday. Depending on where you're at, it's on at either 7 or 8pm.

LightBulb 09-20-2005 08:31 PM

Yea, it's on now (on the WB).

Hi, can someone give me a recaplet? I set my VCR (I'm so old school) to record last night but turned off the cable, so I recorded nothing. Awesome!

Private I 09-21-2005 02:25 PM

well you know that Luke and Loralie are now engaged. Rory doesn't live with Loralie anymore, and they don't even speak anymore. Rory has to pick up trash on the side of the road for community service when she 'borrowed' the yacht. She resides with Emily and Richard, and is taking time off from school.

Episode starts with Sookie and Lorelai standing in front of the old mansion that Luke just bought. That house is friggin' huuuuuge! Sookie jokes that now Lorelai will have enough space for a sewing room. HA. Sookie also questions Lorelai about her track record with engagements -- and makes sure that she won't be bolting anytime soon.

Luke's in the diner while his brother in law TJ's installing shelves. TJ thinks he did such a great job that he starts handing out business cards, only they already had stuff printed on them and he just crossed out their stuff and wrote in his own information.

Lorelai tells Luke that the house he just bought was too big, and that she didn't want to move out of the house she loves so much. They talk about keeping the house and what it could be used for, and Luke gets guys to help him make Lorelai's house bigger.

Meanwhile, in Hartford, Rory's bored. That and she begins her 300 hours of community service. They show her in a room with all these funky looking people for her CS orientation.

They show her watching some show on TV about diving and man, she's really bored. She goes to the main house and starts chatting in Espanol with the maid of the week. I think she was from Guatemala. Rory's so bored that she even helps the maid polish the silver. Emily walks in and freaks out. Dumb grandma even asks what language they were speaking in because she didn't know it was en Espanol.

Logan doesn't appear in this episode, btw. Neither does Laine.

In Stars Hollow, some adopt-a-pet thing is going on, and dogs and cats and pot bellied pigs are everywhere. Lorelai decides she wants a pet, even though Miss Patty tries to convince the adopt-a-pet lady that Lorelai's not the best pet owner because her turtle and hamster died.

Lorelai gets a dog, and she names him PAUL ANKA. How cute is that??

Rory accidentally walks into Emily's DAR meeting. These hoity toity bitches are all tipsy and discussing which of the ForeFathers was the best lover. Names like Alexander Hamilton, James Madison, and George Washington are thrown out. Emily tells Rory that a job with the DAR has opened up, and it's really flexible so she can work at home while she's doing her 300 hrs of CS. In order to work for the DAR, though, she has to join the DAR. The papers are filled out for Rory.

Lorelai goes home and finds that there's a huge ass hole in her bedroom. Luke's sister convinces Luke to let TJ help with the renovation. TJ went crazy and knocked out a friggin' hole.

Paul Anka, doesn't like stairs, so Lorelai has to carry him down the stairs. He likes jumping out of her jeep, though. And he even managed to get back into the jeep, close the door, and lock it. I like Paul Anka.

Emily drops Rory off on her first day of CS in the Jag. Emily got Richard's secretary to print out info regarding interaction with prisoners and goes down the list. She even gives Rory a pack of smokes because that's what they use to barter in prison.

Rory's fellow CS don't like her off the bat and she offers them the smokes. Fast forward to later and they show her picking up trash on the side of the road and she gets into a shoving match with another chick and they get into a chick scrap. Rory gets called in and lectured by the head dude in charge and he tells her to put her fight face away.

She realizes there ain't shit to do in Hartford so she goes back home to Stars Hollow and visits Luke at the diner. He pours her some coffee and he lets her know that he and her mother are engaged. She doesn't even take a sip of her coffee when she says that she has to go.

Lorelai's pissed that Luke told Rory, but he defends himself and calls her out, saying that both she and Rory are stupid and they need to work it out. Lorelai goes back to her whole "tough love" speech.

Final scene has Lorelai driving down the highway and she spots Rory picking up trash. She pulls over to the side of road and they exchange words. Rory thanks her mom for letting her know about the engagement. And Lorelai just takes off.

Next week they have Rory shacking with Logan and gossiping with Emily. Lorelai also tells Luke that they can't set a date for the wedding until everything is good again with Rory.

YOU ROCK. Thank you!!

Lindz928 09-21-2005 03:38 PM

That was a freakin AWESOME recap!!!! Now I don't feel nearly as bad for missing the episode last night. Thanks!!!! :)

HBADPi 09-21-2005 04:02 PM

Seriously great recap, I should have asked you for a recap last week when I missed the premiere...something about bid day and celebrating making quota with the other advisors afterwards prevented me from making it home by 8.:)

BobbyTheDon 09-21-2005 04:20 PM

Dude. This show is another one of my guilty pleasures. I don't know why but I think Rory is hot. Maybe it's her personality, and I always liked chicks like that.

But I think her mom is hot too. I don't know why. Maybe its cuz I know she'd give it up. heh heh heh.

but seriously, I like this show.

And it comes on ABC family like 2 times a day :)

So true.... I think this makes Bobby a GC stud. :p

BobbyTheDon 09-23-2005 02:10 PM

I do a great impression of Lorelai's mother.

LORRRRELAAAAAAAI!

I do it so good, it's scary.

KDAngel 09-30-2005 03:14 AM

Rory needs to go back to Yale already. I'm so over this crap. BLAH!!

I still totally <3 the show though, don't get me wrong!

dzrose93 10-05-2005 10:37 AM

I was at my alumnae meeting last night and missed GG. Can someone give me a recap please?

Thanks!!!!!!!!

Lindz928 10-05-2005 10:51 AM

Sorry, I don't have a recap.

But, I did watch "Sin City" last night..... It was strange to see Alexis Bledel in a role like that. A little bit weird to hear sweet little Rory Gilmore cussing and talking about being a whore. :p Good movie though.

valkyrie 10-05-2005 11:07 AM

Sookie needs to STFU. Her character is so annoying. She's always YELLING and RIDICULOUS.

The whole episode was pretty much about how Sookie manipulated Rory and Lorelai into being godmothers for her spawn because she thought OMG YAYZ if they're both at church for the baptism they'll become BFFs again because you know NOBODY will figure out your stupid ass plan. It didn't work. There is still a rift, although they talked for a minute -- it wasn't pleasant. Sookie also bugged Luke about the wedding date.

I'm sure OTW will do a REAL recap. ;)

dzrose93 10-05-2005 11:13 AM

Thanks, valkyrie! That's the Cliff Notes version, and I appreciate it. :)

OTW, where are you with my full recap? ;)

Thank you!!! I hate Sookie. She always annoyed me.

Sookie found a wedding cake topper at a flea market and thought it was the perfect one for Luke and Lorelei's wedding. When she started harassing him about when the date was, he said that they decided not to get married until things were better with Rory and Lorelei. So Sookie decided to take matters into her own hands.

I agree on one hand, but I must say she doesn't bother me nearly as much as Lane does. I wish that whole story line would just go away. Blah- so boring.

And I wish Rory was back in school already- I miss that part of her life. Next week looks awesome though because it will FINALLY come out why she's not in school, and maybe something will happen about it!

He told her that she doesn't have what it takes to be a Journalist. What a jerk!

and, it's all coming back to the surface on next week's epi, according to the previews I saw.

rhochi2002 10-06-2005 01:16 PM

I like Lane and Paris; they are funny...
I have night classes on tuesday nights, so I have taken to taping it also. (I am old school also.)
I do wish that Rory and Lorile would make up already!!

valkyrie 10-06-2005 01:23 PM

I don't know -- back on my being annoyed by Sookie kick -- I do love the show, but some of the characters are just too, I don't know -- oversimplified or something. Lorelai, Rory, Luke, Lorelai's parents, Logan and Layne are all awesome. But Sookie, Jackson, Taylor, Kirk, Paris, the loud neighbor women like the Sally Struthers character (shoot me now), the dance lady, Luke's brother-in-law, etc. are just too unrealistic and annoying, I think. Michele is somewhere in the middle. It's like they need to either get rid of some of the supporting characters or develop them more.

Lindz928 10-06-2005 01:47 PM

I don't know why, but I don't really like Luke. I always wanted to see Lorelai get back together with Chris. He was cute.

rhochi2002 10-06-2005 02:51 PM

I think some of the characters are a bit 2 dimensional. But in a small town sometimes people are really weird like that! personal expirance!
I am glad they got rid of the ex and all

I agree with what you are saying. Most of the supporting characters are very predictable and BLAH. I think that they should cut out some people or make them ALL a lot less annoying. I definately think that the most annoying thing is to know what the supporting characters are going to do/say when they come on screen and in reaction to what is happening in the plot. They really do not ADD anything to the show that is worth having. I do miss the guy on the corner who would sing and play his guitar. FOr some reason I always liked him.

My VCR cut off scenes on last night's show. Can someone tell me what's happening next week please? Thank you!

The only thing I remember is something about Rory and Logan's relationship getting really serious. Her grandparents are going to go snooping in her room for something. They made it sound like something crazy is happening with Rory and Logan.... Like they're gonna get engaged or she's pregnant or something. Of course, most of the time show's make previews sound like that, it turns out to be nothing. Who knows.

I really liked Emily last night... The way she told off Logan's mom without even raising her voice. I liked her. :)

That. was. great.

dzrose93 10-12-2005 11:23 AM

I loved Emily's monologue to Logan's mom. I'm so glad that the real story is out now and that Richard realizes that Loralei was telling the truth about the Huntzbergers.

I think Emily should have shown Logan's mom to the door instead of to the center table, though. ;)

jess_pom 10-12-2005 11:46 AM

Why so many commercials last night? It seemed like there was a break every 5 minutes!

I LOVED that the grandparents both finaly know the truth. I hope they can see where Loralei is coming from now.

I really want to see what they find in Rory's room. I bet it is something like condom wrappers, because they made it all serious and you know how the granparents overreact to things like that.

KDAngel 10-12-2005 04:10 PM

Yeah, that was the best monologue ever!

Unregistered- 10-12-2005 06:44 PM

I don't know why, but I've always been fascinated with the war-era. If I could go back and live in another part of time, I'd want to go back to the days of dancing at the USOs.

The Paris now being broke story was pretty funny.

And honestly Rory, please grow a spine. You're starting to piss me off. The Huntzbergers aren't shit.

Yay for Emily and Richard sticking up for her though. Can't wait till next week when Richard finally tells Lorelai she was right!

Taualumna 10-12-2005 10:48 PM

Watching last night's episode gave me crazy ideas for our Junior League fundraiser (which will have nothing to do with the 1940s/WWII)!!!! :)

Unregistered- 10-13-2005 09:03 PM

I just watched it again (I'm weird about watching shows twice just in case I missed stuff) and I couldn't believe how many times they used the word RECTIFY!

Private I 11-09-2005 01:41 AM

can I get a recap from tonight? I called up my sister and all she could tell me was that Logan was being a bia to Jess and Jess totally put him in his place and has written a book?!!

He and Rory are so made for each other=)
