Why did you come here?


I came here because my chapter was struggling, and not only did I want to find ideas to help my chapter, but also, I wanted some Greek community, because my chapter was focused compleatly on recruitment, so I missed alot of the social aspect of Greek Life

Why did I come to GC? I was a new adviser and did a google search one night to see if I could find resources to help me support the chapter. That was over 3 years ago, right? Sheesh, time flies!

My psychic super powers told me that lifesaver, AXO Alum, carnation, et.al. needed my special smackdown methods because there were fires started by those who shall not be named that needed some putting out.

And that is why I came to GC.

I came to listen to grown women with obsessions over Japanese cartoon characters provide political commentary.

I stayed for the free beer.

There was a rush thread at a school where I was the Recruitment Advisor. I read that when it was going on to see what she said about my chapter. Then a few months later I came back to see what the site truly was and never left!

I thought this was a Greek voyeur website.

I came b/c some douchebag was spreading lies about members of some GLO's on my campus so I came to patrol his whiny ass.

Found it surfing one day, decided to stay, because I love talking frat.

Our chapter's webmaster had a link to the site on our webpage, and I missed being involved (I had graduated and moved back home, and hadn't gotten involved on the alumna level at that time), so I clicked on the link....and I've been here ever since! :)

I came in search of fellow Sigma Kappa girls. :)

My friend sent me a link to a thread about obnoxious tshirt slogans, and since I had just finished my freshman year of college at the time I was still incredibly amused by such things. (Ok who am I kidding, I still think inappropriate shirts are funny but I digress)

Anyway, I looked around the site more after reading that thread and never left. :D

I was looking for information on Greek hats, but I spelled the URL wrong.

Jk, I was about to rush. Nobody in my family was Greek and I wanted some advice.

A friend of mine told me to check out the site. I've been semi-lurking since.

I came here to meet people who are French and refer to their Greek pet cats as "chats".

I was looking for help on starting a local sorority (when i decided i want to) and I came upon this site. I've been here since then, and y'all have convinced me to go National...instead of Local! lol

I was looking for info for a friend's daughter, who was going to rush. She ended up not rushing, but I found my home!:)

found the site by accident really...then found my ebay screenname in a thread...apparently I needed to meet my sisters and assure them I was in fact an A Xi and not a pin collector stealing all of the quills! Now I'm here lurking almost daily and posting on occasion. :D

I was doing a search for something APO related and found the site. I lurked for a few months before I registered.

I was doing a search on sororities, and I found myself sucked in by the GC vacuum.

I was searching for Alpha Chi recruitment songs for skit. I lurked for about a year before I finally caved in and registered, and it's been an addiction ever since :)

I stumbled across GC when I was surfing online one day, and I stayed because even though I was a newly initiated sorority member I still didn't know jack diddly about Greek life.

I heard about the drama from livejournal ;)

I work at night and 3 AM can be a lonely time-so I surfed the web and found GC.

I love GC! I came here when I was looking into starting a new sorority on my campus. I stumbled upon this site during my research and found alot of helpful tips!

I'm glad I stayed and learned alot about Greek Life that I didn't know about before, and also about Orgs that dont have chapters in my school. Now, I am a proud colony founder!!

So yeah, thanks GC!!

I really don't remember how I found GC ... I stuck around b/c I got addicted to the rush threads.. I think S&S and GP were rushing around the time I found GC.. is it weird I remember that? I thought it was super helpful when I decided to do rush myself and had already read a bunch about things to do, etc. b/c none of my family was ever Greek and I was at a whole new school that was way bigger than the one I transferred from

That's around the time I came here. I remember they were in the Fall 2003 'Who's Rushing' thread.

oh how time flies when you're having fun...that's so crazy it was 2 yrs ago!

It was my freshman year of college. I was interested in learning more about sororities, even though I never planned to rush (go figure :p ) I lurked until the beginning of my sophomore year, and joined GC when I joined an honor fraternity. I actually found out about Delta Gamma colonizing at Auburn on GC before I heard it anywhere else! I posted my rush thread here, and have stayed ever since! :D

A friend of mine who had always known of my interest in Greek life had mentioned that some groups now did alumna initation and encouraged me to look into it. That was over a year ago, and I've found some wonderful friends, soon to be sisters, and a great sorority home.

Okay, now my real answer. :)

I was searching for dangles for my badge (I wanted to see if anybody had more selection than MoD). My search brought me to a thread on here, and I started reading. I've been hooked ever since!

I accidentally stumbled across GC while searching for information about a related topic. It hadn't really been my intention to be a long-term user, but some of the discussions were interesting. Also, I admit that some of the drama was entertaining because it was like reality TV with some audience participation allowed.

I came here looking for advice on recruitment.

Was on a few msg boards at the time, mostly general interest like chickclick etc. I think I had just joined Zeta & was looking for more information about greeklife as a whole, not just my campus.
