The Pickles Post

Let's talk about pickles. Love 'em or hate 'em?

I hate pickles. They're gross.:p

CutiePie2000 08-27-2005 02:20 AM

Depends on my mood. I like them but I don't love them. But if I want one, the sweet kind.

WCUgirl 08-27-2005 02:41 AM

I LOVE pickles. Bread & Butter are the best. I like the pickle chips, not the slices.

Fried pickles are awesome.

OrigamiTulip 08-27-2005 09:23 AM

Pickles are literally my favorite food. :)

aephi alum 08-27-2005 11:53 AM

Pickles are disgusting. http://www.clicksmilies.com/s0105/wu...smiley-007.gif

Pickles are YUMMAY!

Sliced pickles. Whole pickles. Kosher pickles. Pickles in a jar. Pickles in my food. Pickle juice. Frozen pickle juice (a great summertime treat!).

I'll have to give that frozen pickle juice suggestion a try. It's like a pickle popsickle!

I love the smell of dill pickles... I think Pottery Barn should make THAT into a candle...

Buttonz 08-28-2005 02:05 AM

Pickles are yummy!

trojangal 08-28-2005 07:57 AM

Love 'em...and almost anything "dilled". Grandmother used to make "dilly green bean pickles" that were so good. Also love bread and butters as well. Can't eat hamburgers or chicken sandwiches without 'em anymore!

AOIIsilver 08-28-2005 09:10 AM

I eat pickles instead of meat!!!

I heart pickles, especially the dill pickles my grandma used to make. I don't think I'll ever taste pickles like that again... :(

AOII_LB93 08-28-2005 05:58 PM

I love pickles. I used to like the sweet ones, but now I prefer dill, specifically Claussen. I also like the little mini pickles called cornichons.

Kind of on the pickle front, have any of you ever had pickled watermelon rind? My nana used to make it and it was the bomb!

blueangel 08-28-2005 07:04 PM

Ick!

ZTAngel 08-28-2005 07:10 PM

I only like the Kosher sour kind. The sweet kind make me nauseous.

KSigkid 08-28-2005 07:32 PM

Pickles are great, especially on burgers. I'm a fan.

Rio_Kohitsuji 08-28-2005 09:49 PM

As long as the pickles in question don't come from a gas-station freezer, I'm all for 'em ;)

copacabana 08-28-2005 10:03 PM

mmmm I love pickles! By themselves, in burgers or with some turkey, cheese and mustard!

I second that, except I go a little further. I will only eat Vlasic Kosher Dill Spears. I don't know what it is, but those are the only pickles I like. And oh I love those pickles.

honeychile 08-30-2005 01:59 PM

I love the kosher dills, and the bread & butter pickles.

And in Chicago, at Super Dawgs, they make the very best green tomato pickles! They're worth the trip alone!

*drools*

I love pickles. If course, the more sour the better. I love dill pickles.

33girl 08-30-2005 03:04 PM

I like pickles by themselves.

I do not like pickles on sandwiches of any sort.

OtterXO 08-30-2005 04:50 PM

So I have a pickle question. I went to this French restaurant for lunch today and my Salad Nisoise had these really teeny-tiny pickles on it-like literally an inch long each. They tasted normal but looked so weird that I couldn't eat them. What the hell were they!?

Well, I didn't know that we had been separated at birth!! That's what I like, too. Catfish Sam's in Arlington has green tomato pickles that are so good they'll make you slap your daddy!;)

They are called cornichons...they are basically miniaturized pickles. I'm not quite sure how they came about, but I mentioned those earlier. I love them.

mmcat 08-30-2005 11:43 PM

i can and have made them...good gifts.
but i really don't eat them. sorry guys.

My mouth has been watering all night, since I read your post! Everyone keeps telling me that they're just there for "decoration" but o.mi.goodness!! I just like the green ones, though, not the red.

And I like those little ones, too - the ones slightly larger than a Pickle Pin! This is about to scale:
