Well the time has come to finally post my rush story! I can't believe how fast time flies by. I remember being on this forum even before i knew where i was going to school for sure. Anyways.. i will be rushing at Florida State University. Our first meeting is this Sunday at 8pm and Rush officially starts the following day. I'll name the houses after my favorite stores:

1. Tiffany & Co.
2. American Eagle
3. J. Crew
4. Abercrombie & Fitch
5. Victoria's Secret
6. Vera Bradley
7. Anthropologie
8. Gap
9. Banana Republic
10. Lilly Pulitzer
11. Nine West
12. Hollister
13. Saks 5th (haha if only i could afford it!)
14. Ann Taylor
15. White and Black

Aww...if only I could afford most of those stores *TEAR*. I guess i'll have to stick to Ross..lol (too bad you dont have that store up there).

I hope your rush goes well...I know your gonna have a blast! Remember to wear cool clothes...I hear that its really humid in Florida!

I'mma have to root for Victoria Secret, Hollister and Banana Republic! LOL...those are the stores that (if i had a little bit more money to spend on clothes) i'd shop at! lol.

Thank goodness! I've been waiting for an FSU rush thread to feed my addiction! My daughter went through rush at FSU last year and I vividly remember how excited and nervous she was right before it started. I think she's almost as nervous going through it on the other side this year. Keep that in mind if you get nervous - the members are probably just as nervous as you are!

Laugh a lot...have a blast, watch the goings on and keep yourself entertained, dress well, keep your feet comfy and enjoy the ride.

i just moved in today! wohoo!! i was approached by 3 sorority girls at diff. times asking me if i was going to rush! they were wearing jean skirts, blue shirts, and pearls. so cute. anywayyyss tomorrow my roomate and i are going to a Rush Fashion Show at 5:30 that will tell us what to wear to rush and at 8pm we have a Rush meeting. eeek i'm so excited (and nervous)!!!!

Enjoy your Sunday - rest up for the week. It's been blazingly hot here, so don't overdo. Drink PLENTY of water.

Remember to wear sunscreen during the week - there are tents, but not everyone will fit underneath them all the time. You don't want to be remembered as the lobster-red PNM.

oh my goodness girls! i went to the meeting tonight at 8pm and it was so intimidating! all the girls there were so gorgeous. i think there's something like 1,211 girls rushing this year. i have to meet my group tomorrow at 9:45!!

And you are just as gorgeous! No need for intimidation, just confidence and you will shine!

Don't worry about feeling intimidated Laugh....I'm sure all 1211 of the girls there tonight felt the same way you do.

Try to get a good nights sleep tonight and enjoy all the new people you're going to meet tomorrow...both members and other PNM's.

Today i visited 8 sororities...

Tiffany & Co: This house was really gorgeous but i didn't really click with the girls. The girls and i didn't really have much in common.

J. Crew: Again, this house was beautiful but i couldn't see myself in here. I know it's horrible, but i asked to go to the bathroom in this house because i really had to go and i didn't want to ask to go to the bathroom in a sorority i really liked!

Abercrombie & Fitch: I loved this house! i talked to 2 girls and they were so nice. They were dressed very nice and the conversations flowed. i could definitely see myself in this house!

Victoria's Secret: I really liked this house a lot.. the girls were amazing and the house was gorgeous. i would love to come back to this house.

Vera Bradley: This house was great too but it was the first one i rushed and we were their first group too so it was very overwhelming because i wasn't sure what to expect. i would love to come back but the conversation i had with the first girl (i talked to 2) was awkward and uncomfortable so i would be surprised if i got asked back.

Gap: i had a horrible experience before coming to this house. me and another girl accidentaly followed the wrong group for 2 blocks! we had to run all the way back to find our group and we got there just as they were walking in! anyways.. all that running and i didn't really like this house. No conversations or anything stood out.. i don't remember much about it just that i wasn't impressed.

Banana Republic: This was a great house with gorgeous girls! All the girls were really nice and i felt at home.

White and Black: MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE!!!! i talked to one girl the whole time.. we talked about everything.. we had so much in common!!! we talked about our boyfriends and how we're both business majors. it was great.. i would LOVE to be in this house. i felt the most at home in this sorority than i did in anyother one.

That was it for today.. tomorrow we visit 7 more! so another long day of rushing awaits!

That sounds absolutely exhilirating.

Sometimes I really wish that I had gone to a big school with a big rush like that... what an adventure!!!

I would always hear that from Miami freshmen. You would think they would know what hot is, but you really don't until you experience Tally in August. I hope rush continues to go well for all.

I did the restroom thing too. Don't feel bad. What is funny though is three rounds later, that house ended up being home.

American Eagle: i love this sorority the girls are great and so are the houses!!! wow!! they were very down to earth too! me and the girl that rushed me talked about how were were both only child and always wanted to have sisters.

Anthropologie: i was impressed by this sorority, i wasn't expecting it to be as good as it was because it sort of has a negative reputation on campus, but i'm not going to listen to other people.. i'll make my own decission.

Lilly Pulitzer: i love this house!! they were like stepford wives living in a beautiful mansion. i thought we clicked, hopefully they did too.

Nine West: don't like.. girls don't really look like fun. the house is nice though.

Hollister: nice house, but the i couldn't see them as my sisters.

Saks 5th: wow!! beautiful house and gorgeous girls! the girl that rushed me was great she kept introducing me to people but rushed me the whole time. she introduced me to the president and her best friend too.

Ann Taylor: i don't really like this sorority. the girls were nice but i just don't think it would be the place for me.

**i'm so happy Florida State has so many great sororities to choose from. my heart isn't completely set on one.. so we'll see what happens!

I'm waiting to hear, too. I have a friend's daughter that decided to go through at FSU at the last minute and she was supposed to update me all week, and I haven't heard a thing!

I've only gotten dribs and drabs from my daughter all week. I think she much prefers being the "rusher" to the "rushee" but she has still had some very painful moments. She called a couple of hours ago to say they were getting ready for a ceremony. I'm assuming I won't hear from her again tonight!

I'm sorry things didn't work out for you. I rejected a bid from one group on my campus my freshman year. I wondered all year if I did the right thing, and I now know I am where I'm meant to be :) Good luck with school!
