Delta Sigma Theta Proud of history, services

(as they should be!)
Black sorority meeting in city (Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Aug. 12, 2005 )

Nice article!

"About 1,500 women of Delta Sigma Theta are expected to attend the 45th Eastern Regional Conference which began yesterday and continues through Sunday at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center, Downtown."--- It's going to be a sea of red! hehe.

I agree CT4. I only wish I too could be in Pittsburgh with our SORORS.

I missed this article in the paper today. My office overlooks the convention center, I would've taken some peeks out to try to spot ladies in crimson and cream!

mmcat 08-12-2005 08:38 PM

congrats ladies...here's to lots more success in everything you do.

Good Article Sistergreeks. I hope y'all have a good time at your conference!

mccoyred 08-14-2005 09:59 AM

VERY WELL WRITTEN!! Many articles about Greek orgs are written by non-Greeks who have no clue and often use incorrect terminology and inaccurate information. This article is the exception. This writer is either thoroughly educated on Greeks or has a source who is. Kudos to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette!

Soror, I thought the SAME THING. It read much differently than most other articles I have read about Greeks. I was most happy to see the change.:)

Plus, it could be possible that the writer's editor (or someone who is highly placed at the PG) is Greek. That's the beauty of having people in a newsroom who have differing experience, values, etc.

Good article.

Great article!

I saw some Deltas last night when I was at the William Penn - they were proudly sporting their DST tote bags. :)

The P-G always has good articles on the Divine Nine groups when there is something happening here and they're usually written by this same author, so I'm betting that he is an NPHC member.

Here's an article from today's PG Magazine section, the "Seen" column
http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/05227/554033.stm

(PS, yay for good accurate press! Perhaps there will be some letters to the editor)

sunday's service

Bishop Vashti is ON POINT. I met her at the MLK Jr. Program at the institution where I am completing my masters. Her dialogue was extremely introspective.

You're quite "familiar" with her, I see.

I have a protocol issue with both articles, but the first one was very well written.

RedAngel 08-15-2005 04:07 PM

I agree 100%. Somebody definitely did their research!

It's been nearly 20 years since Delta Sigma Theta sorority has held a regional conference in Pittsburgh, but the Delta drought ended last week as the 45th Eastern Regional Conference floated into town on a wave of sisterhood and service.
This quote was cute but I agree the second article had many discrepencies

The B Girl 08-23-2005 12:05 AM
