High school:
Liked most of my classes. The only one I didn't like was AP English, and that was because of the teacher. If I had to pick a favorite, it would probably be AP History or AP Government. College: Favorite: Presidential History (Professor Dallek was great) or Sports Journalism (professor was a writer for SI, so his advice was excellent) Least favorite: Sociology - the professor wasn't very good; I believe it was the last class he taught for the college. |
High School
Favorites: American Lit and Dramatic Interpretations Least Favorites: Advanced Chemistry and Algebra II College Favorites: Feature Writing and American Lit 1945-present Least Favorites: Statistics, Sociology, and British Modernism |

High School
Loved: French, Biology Hated: Economics College Loved: Organic chem, Adversity and the Human Spirit (freshman seminar), and Francophone Cultures and the Immigrant Experience (the fact that this course was taught in Paris helps ;) ) Hated: Calculus, Calc-based Physics (and I had to take 2 semesters... uggg!!) |
High School:
Favorite- Psychology Least Favorite- Stupid filler classes. I only needed one credit to graduate, and they made me stay for 4. So I took Child Development. Worst. Class. Ever. College Favorite- Western Civ I. Made me realize that I really did want to be a history major. I love history too much to not take classes in it. Least Favorite- Econ 101. Our professor was from India (couldn't understand him), senile, and hated women! He would call on me (or any other girl), I'd tell him the right answer, he'd tell me it was wrong. He would call on a guy, who would give him my answer verbatim, and the prof would tell him yes and how smart he was. I went about 6 times after the first day, took the tests, didn't listen to him in class (he was really confusing) and passed with a B. |
High school
favorite: anatomy/physiology, calculus, accounting least favorite: phys. ed with Mr. Bate (a bad, bad, bad man ) College favorites: mycology, plant physiology lecture, french fairy tales, dinosaurs, Latin 101, prehistory of the NW coast (mainly for the field trips), intro to microeconomics, foundations in evolution least favorites: o chem, plant physiology lab, principles of ecology, molecular cell biology, pretty much every business course that I took  the moral of the story is: a good teacher can make a class, while a bad teacher can ruin one's interest in a subject FOREVER |
High school:
Favorite: All computer science classes, chemistry and AP physics (had the same teacher for both, he was great!), pre-calculus (another great teacher). Least favorite: AP English, hands down. The teacher worked us like dogs, with no respect for the fact that most of us were taking 3-4 other AP classes plus 2-3 other senior-level classes. And she had this thing for Tess of the d'Urbervilles. I have a thing for Tess of the d'Urbervilles too - it's called nausea. College: Favorite: Holography. That was a fun class. We learned about the principles behind holography, and had a weekly lab. My lab group rocked. :D The only problem came with my final project - I was trying to make an animation, but my master hologram plate broke :( so when I gave my final presentation, my topic was Murphy's Law. I still got an A+ :) Least favorite: - Circuits and Electronics, a required course for all CS majors. Resistors, transformers, capacitors, inductors, all that fun stuff. We had a sadistic professor. For example, one day there were 5 minutes left in lecture, so he said, "We have a few minutes, so I'm going to talk a bit about some research I'm doing." Since it wasn't on the curriculum, nobody took notes... However, it was on the test. - Mechatronics, an elective I signed up for. Two lectures in, the prof took me aside and told me he was going to fail me if I didn't drop the class, because I was a CS major, not EE or ME. I hope he didn't get tenure. - Philosophy, a humanities class (we had to take a certain # of humanities classes). We debated controversial issues like abortion. There were weekly papers. The problem was that if you didn't agree with the professor, he docked you a full letter grade! |
High School:
Favorite: Yearbook - I got to get out of class early and get into games for free AP English - the teacher was really awsome. AP Calc - The best teacher I ever had. Least Favorite: Honors Biology - Biology didn't do it for me. To boring AP Chem - Way to much work and harder then the chem class in college College: Favorite: Anthropology - the prof. made it fun Circuit Analysis - the prof was great and she made it easy to understand Labs for Electromagnetics and for Circuit Analysis - hands on lab. I built and antenna and a light sensor. Least Favorite: Physics 1 and 2 for engineers- way to boring Electomagnetics (Lecture) - just a little to hard. The prof. was great but this class was hell Microelectronics - Couldn't understand the teach. |
High school:
favorites -- Creative Writing Workshop, Speech II least favorites -- AP Calculus (which would be why I only took one semester of it), Concepts 9 College: favorites -- Introduction to Creativity, History of Rock and Roll, History of American Journalism least favorites -- History of the Great Plains (grad-level class I took as a sophomore, not a good idea), Accounting. |
Favorite High School: Home Economics (Yes my high school--all girl's) still teaches that! I loved it! I even took a second year of Home Ec II my senior year! I can actually sew and cook!
Least Favorite HS: Chemistry, sophomore year--my teacher was crazy! I ended up with a C in the class but gosh, it was so hard. The only thing I remember from that is that Noble Gases don't like to mix with other chemicals. Favorite College: Southern Literature! It was great and I took it during the summer so we went to the Faulkner Conference and that was amazing. I also loved all my Marketing classes! So much fun! I actually like group projects! Oh and I took an entire literature class about Samuel Beckett, he is an amazing writer! Least Favorite College: Accounting! Are they kidding? It was so freakin' hard. Yet I could make A's in Finance & Econ Stats I & II classes! I realize they have it hard to weed out the actual accounting majors, but they could have an accounting for non-majors course! The test were all at night in this big room with all of the other accounting sections. I hated it. |
favorite : structural steel
least favorite : english |
High School:
Least Fav: Spanish I-II, great teacher but I just wasn't any good at it! Most Fav: International Studies and Sn. English College: Least Fav: Math for Educators I & 2 (HORRIBLE PROFS) Most Fav: Anthropology, Native American Anthropology, Educational Technology |

OleMissGlitter - I've heard WONDERFUL things about the Faulkner Conference!! You are soooo lucky!! In fact, I get Oxford Magazine, which I think is from your school? I love it - especially the Blues edition!! |
High School:
Favorite-- Theater, Calculus, AP Biology, and Senior AP English (English Literature) Least Favorite-- US History, Integrated Physics and Chemistry (freshman year), and Freshman English College: Favorite--English Literature (2nd semester freshman year), Political Science Least Favorite--Calculus 2, General Chem 2, University Seminar |
High School:
Favorite: Sophomore Honors English--a really funny teacher who I still pester taught that one, and the inside jokes from that class are still around today. "Balls? Gothic Spam? LOL!" Least Favorites: AP Calculus Lab (a study hall for AP Calculus AB students where the teacher disliked me so much that he banned me from saying "chicken") and AP Physics (dropped it at semester because the teacher played favorites and unless you were one, and I wasn't, the class was hard and boring as all heck) College: Favorites: Rhetoric I&II (the prof let me make coffee runs and sleep in class! both semesters!) and Environmental Studies (the prof told fun stories about getting kicked out of Texas Tech for partying too much, making moonshine, and was a hilarious lecturer!) Least Favorites: Spanish 1412 (two semesters in one, only you still have two semesters worth of work to do, and it was at freaking 8 in the morning! I like Spanish, but I can't get up to save my life) and Political Science 1305 (? I think that's the number? Anyway, the professor was an old fart who gave all m/c tests with answers where I thought you could argue it for multiple ones and he was always so condescending to his students! arrgh! definitely made me want to change my major from poli sci because he's the old fart of the department and I didn't like dealing with him at all!) |
High School:
Favorite: Spanish. My teacher was excellent, we had a huge, fun and involved Spanish Club and we went to Mexico City for a week long trip which was the experience of a lifetime. Least Favorite: Calculus. It was the first time I ever had to work at anything in my life and I hated it. I tried to drop but the teacher said that I had to learn to be challenged before I went to college and wouldn't let me. I told him it was going to ruin my GPA because I had all A's going into my senior year. I ended up with a B+ and I was crushed :( College: Favorite: All of my OT classes. I was so excited to learn everything I was going to be doing as an Occupational Therapist. We had awesome profs and a great class (we took all the same classes together for two years straight). Least Favorite: Gross Anatomy. Aside from the huge amount of memorization, which was tedious, the cadavre lab made me sick (emotionally and physically) twice a week. I'm not cut out for that kind of thing. |
High School:
I had many favourites, so here are a few: Most math classes until Grade 11; Keyboarding (typing); OAC Music (small class of 6 people), Law, Philosophy and Writer's Craft. Least favourite: Media studies (Grade 11). The teacher was a radical feminist who hated skinny girls. University: Favourites: East Asian History, Musical Theatre, Shakespeare's Comedies, The English Country House (the last two taken abroad in a medieval castle in England) Least favourite: Intro women's studies (prof was a radical feminist and the TA even more radical) |
HS FAVE - Journalism, Band
HS Hate - any math class College Fave So far - Theatre History, Acting, Bugs 101 *not actual title, but that was basically the class* College Hate So far - ENG 252 - Fiction writers from 1900 - to present, only b/c the prof made everything relate to sex and homosexuality, and rape. wtf?, |
High School:
Favorites: Spanish, Orchestra, Newspaper Staff, Math Least favorite: PE College: Favorites: Medical Microbiology, Intro to Ethics, Philosophy of Gender, Race, and Class, Plant Virology Least Favorites: Organic Chemistry, Physics 101, Math 107 (what a waste of time!) |
Hmm...
Favourites: School - Honours French 5 and Anatomy & Physiology University - Italian Renaissance Art, and Evolutionary Biology Postgrad - Giorgione seminar Least Favourites: School - Pre-Calculus and Honours Calculus (maths and I do not mix) University - Public Communication (he tried to indoctrinate us and kept us an hour late after a three hour lecture/seminar) and the second term of Calculus based Physics (E/M badness mostly), as my prof. was an evil little man Postgrad - Art Historical Research Methods (aka. How to Ruin and Destroy your Thesis and Research Prospects) |

This prof was my academic advisor and brand new to the school. She challenged us and made her class very interesting. I still got an A- even though it was pretty hard. Least Favorite - Phonology! It's the reason I changed my major. I took it twice and couldn't get it. |
High School:

So I was reflecting on this subject the other day, and realized I must revise this lol. High School Favorite: Calculus Least Favorite: Physics (or IPC which I took freshman year) College Favorite: Law of Mass Comm and TV Production/Direction Least Favorite: Calculus 2 & American Fiction (because of the profs) I was gonna add Intro to Religious Studies to the 'least favorite' list but I realized that after having several in-class arguments w/the prof (who was also a local pastor) and realizing how much of a complete buffoon he was, that I knew A LOT more about the subject than him. All the defending of my beliefs helped me strengthen my faith. And really, as a pastor of a local church I expected MUCH MUCH more than what he did. Really? I understands all the sects have slightly different views on things, but when you can't even get down the most basic beliefs, how can you call yourself a pastor? |
Graduate school:
Least Fave: Statistics. Favorite: Everything else in the program. |
High School:
Favorites: English, World History, American History, American Government, Biology 1 & 2, Geometry, Latin 1 & 2, Anatomy & Physiology, Banking Hated: Algebra 2, Chemistry, Geography, Trigonometry College: Favorites: Interpersonal Comm. Weirdly, one of my least favorite classes is the one I use the most in real life, Pharmacology.
Loved: American English Linguistics Oral History Journalism Hated: Latin American History French 3 Oceanography (why on earth did I even take that?!) I can't even remember the name of a history class that involved a specific computer program, but was nasty. |

My least favorite subject in highschool and college both were English and writing courses.
My favorite subject was Physics/biology/zoology. The biology in highschool and college was fun, but the physics in highschool and part of college was dumb, basic, and very boring. It's just that they had us doing dumb, boring things like finding out how much force a one pound rocket exterts on a sled or something to make it go if it were travelling over ice at one foot per second or something dumb, and basic like that. |
