UN vs. IHoP

Which is more important? Which is more effective? Why?

RedRoseSAI 08-04-2005 02:17 PM

The United Nations vs. International House of Pancakes?

I'd say IHOP

omegamcgee 08-04-2005 03:53 PM

IHoP. They can actually give you the pancakes, rather than pass a sanction saying you should have some.

While the UN "strongly encourages" pancakes, IHoP delivers. UN loses. Badly.

KillarneyRose 08-04-2005 05:46 PM

I prefer IHOP because you actually get something for your money.

bekibug 08-05-2005 12:46 AM

A friend of mine would say draw, because IHOP does not have girlsenberry syrup, only boysenberry, and he has asked repeatedly that they find some. They cannot, which comes off looking like the U.N.'s search for WMDs.

KSigkid 08-05-2005 08:28 AM

I'm not sure how good Kofi Annan's egg sandwiches are, so I'll have to say IHoP for now.

If he and Bolton could throw together a big breakfast, though, I could change my mind.

Lil' Hannah 08-05-2005 08:46 AM

Until UN can trump the Rooti Tooti Fresh and Fruity, I think we all know the winner here.

DeltAlum 08-05-2005 09:32 AM

I've been working at the UN for the past five weeks.

I won't comment.

That's better than working at an IHOP, don't you think?

AGDee 08-05-2005 09:53 AM

I originally thought this thread was a poll about where DeltAlum should work!

Kevlar281 08-05-2005 11:51 AM

United Nations

- Numerous Flags...check
- Pigs in Blankets...debatable
- Chocolate Chip Pancakes...no
- Affordable...no

International House of Pancakes

- Numerous Flags...check
- Pigs in Blankets...check
- Chocolate Chip Pancakes...check
- Affordable...check (kids eat free nights and senior specials)

I could go on but I think it's pretty clear.

33girl 08-05-2005 11:57 AM

I don't have an IHOP around me. I want an IHOP. The fact that I have no IHOP makes me sad.

I cannot say the same about the UN.

Aaaah, quit yer bitchin' Sheila ;) You have Eat-n-Park. I am sad because we don't have Eat-n-Park here :(

sageofages 08-05-2005 02:31 PM

Hmmm good question....the UN has remained consistently...well...UN-ish

The IHoP on the other hand is NOT the IHoP of my youth. Where did the fun varieties of pancakes go? Where did the sloped roof fade away to?

So so so lost in the memory of my younger days....

JenMarie 08-06-2005 12:04 AM

The UN doesn't make very good crépes. Therefore, I chose IHOP.

Here's how the United Nations does is:

Here's how the International House of Pancakes does it:

I'm only seeing one smiling face.

I would have to agree

midwesterngirl 08-06-2005 12:48 PM

I just had a funnel cake at IHoP.I enjoyed it tremendously. I don't recall anyone from the UN offering me or anyone else I know, a funnel cake with powdered sugar and cinnamon before.

FHwku 08-10-2005 09:13 AM

IHoP

don't forget that IHoP also serves lunch and dinner.

optimizing cost control also helped boost IHoP's shares 9.4% since last year, nearly doubling 2nd-quarter profits.

April-June last year: $4.4 million
April-June this year: $11.9 million

that's like 270%.

The UN spends billions trying to feed people, fails, and then spends billions investigating why, and who's at fault. The UN should appropriate those billions to IHoP, who will complete the job more efficiently.

Internat'l House of Pancakes' Productive Emergency Relief.

honeychile 08-10-2005 10:28 AM

People go to IHoP and are happy.
People got to the UN and are cranky.

I think IHoP has a better concept of World Peace.

DeltAlum 08-10-2005 01:35 PM

In fairness, I must say that a couple of the dining rooms at the UN serve outstanding food.

Better than IHOP.

But they don't have armed guards and magnatometers (metal detectors) at IHOP either.

Tom Earp 08-10-2005 05:32 PM

WELL, NEVER have Eaten there, Like Some Swell Peeps, (OH Welcome BacK To Reality):D , I did a super breakfast at ISlop and got charged 10.95 for a early brekfast (3.95)after a night on the town, Never Went back!

The UN, still Like a Govt. I am here and I will do what it needs to make $$$$$ :(

Leauge Of Nations sound Familiar? Where was their HQ? Who was the President that presented it into existance?

alphaxikt 08-10-2005 08:01 PM

Does John Bolton go to IHoP? Because if he does, I'd say that makes it a draw. :)

Geneva, Switzerland, Woodrow Wilson, but the United States wasn't a member.

Just out of curiosity, what was this thread originally supposed to be about?

Does it matter?

Not really. I started this thread and I forgot what it was about.
