What's the Highest Math Course Did You Take?
Mine have to be Cal II.
|
In high school, I took up to Algebra II, but I did it a year early (Algebra I in 8th grade, Geometry in 9th, A II in 10th) so I didn't have a math my junior and senior year.
In college, I took Statistics, just because it counted as my math credit, and for some odd reason, a credit toward my poli sci minor. And it was taught by a psych teacher. So it wasn't that difficult. I'm never taking another math class again. Ick. |
Precalculus in high school, statistics in college. I'm dumb in math.
|
Multivariable calc. I started out life as a math major.
|
The highest level of math I took was AP Calculus. The highest level I COMPLETED was a "regular" OAC (OAC--the fifth year of high school in Ontario that now no longer exists. OAC and AP Calc are now offered to Grade 12s) Calculus because I couldn't keep up. The "regular" course is slightly slower and covers slightly less material.
|
AP Calculus for one semester in high school.
Statistics 101 in college -- the only "math" class required by my major. |
In high school I took through AP Calculus... In college I went through Differential Equations... Which means I took Calc 2 and 3 in college as well... I was a Physics and Astronomy Major... Also I had to take a Mathmatics for Physics Students class... I almost ended up taking more math, but I decided against the math minor...
|
College Algebra...sounds pathetic but i hate math
|
Math 101, in college. I'm horrible at math - I'm an artist, not a number cruncher.
|
Differential Equations. I was ready to stop after Cal III but my advisor made me take DE since it was part of the scheme. :(
|
I took up to Cal 2 in college. The teacher was an asshole and failed 75% of the class. Fortunately i was able to pass with a "C" and that made me realize that although i'm good at Calculus, i'm not going to risk my GPA trying to take Cal 3. lol.
|
It is horrible that I don't remember excactly, but I think in high school it was Pre-Calculus. It college it was Trig. I only had to have algebra and trig for my major.
|
I only have grade 11 advanced math (under the older Ontario curriculum).
I barely passed that course. I went to 2 classes of grade 12 math then dropped the course. I did take statistics in university (but barely passed that too) As you can see, I suck at math. |
So far I've taken Calc. I, II, and III, along with Differential Equations, Vector Analysis (with Introduction to Electromagnetics), and I still need like 2 or 3 400 level course. Electrical Engineering Major so i need to take a lot of math.
|
AP Caluculus in HS senior year, Calc I & II in college. Statistics as well in college.
I liked math, it just wasn't in my major field and I didn't need more than that, and I didn't have the extra $$ to take it as an elective ;) |
AP Caluculus AB, junior year of high school--and that means I'm done with poli sci's math requirement and I'm very happy that I can avoid math in college! Blecch, math is not fun to me.
|
AP Calc in high school... we had the bet teacher. It was one of my favorite classes :)
In college I took a few mat courses. I think calc II was the highest I took. |
Stats in HS (both at the local college and AP), and Calc in college.
|
High School: Algebra II, took it in my senior year. I was supposed to get done with math in my juinor year, but I've got held back at my freshman year when they placed me out of my Algebra I class and put me in Pre-Algebra. I did pretty well in math until Geometry came along.
Freshman Year: Pre-Algebra Sophmore Year: Algebra I Junior Year: Geometry Senior Year: Algebra II College: Psych Stats (Junior level course). The first time, I made a D and I had to take it over, becasue I can't take the research course with a D in stats. The second time, I made a B. I took the course with the same professor. Also, in Elementary Calculus, I barely passed that class and College Algebra. That's what I get for stopping at Algebra II at my senior year. I can't understand why people like math. I hate math! |
Business Stats at AU, and I was damn glad to get out of it too. I don't remember my grade, but it wasn't a good one. Thankfully, I do remember what I did learn and understand what I didn't.
I hate Excel. |
I actually JUST finished my LAST math class! Discrete Math. I passed with a D for DONE. I dont set my standards very high for math classes...I dont have the patience for them, but I'm finished now. Well, I still have to take accounting 1, but thats not a "math" class.
|
Stats I in college
And I have to place out of the Math requirement in order to graduate. I have one semester left, and I haven't taken the exam yet... Oh well.. |
Had taken Statistics as the highest. Now I have to take two Liberal Arts Math Classes to complete my lower requirements to graduate.
|
AP Calculus in HS.
Linear algebra and differential equations in college. |
2nd quarter calculus in college. I started quarter #3 of college calc, but dropped it because it was summer quarter, the TA who was teaching the class didn't speak English, and it was "recommended but not required" for my major. Kinda wish I had finished the course now, since I would like to be able to teach middle school math but I don't have quite enough coursework. Oh well.
Oh yeah: I took statistics too. If anyone is planning to go to grad school in science, education, or any type of social science, taking stats as an undergrad is a VERY smart move. I didn't realize just how helpful a basic descriptive statistics class would be in a Masters-in-Teaching program. My dad was right, as hard as it is to admit it. :) |
Trig in High School... Math 1 in college (kinda like college algebra.)
Major didn't require math so I didn't take any beyond freshman year. |
Let's see, in High School I took Algebra I in 9th, Geometry and Algebra II in 10th, PreCalculus in 11th, and Calc./Stats in 12th. Then, my first semester in college, I took Calc. I.... then I ran as far as possible away from any math class ever again =)
|
AP Calculus (BC) in high school. I had the world's worst teacher. He'd taught the AB curriculum for years. He spent the first four months of the year going over things we'd covered in pre-calc. On the day before the AP exam, he said, "Well, we didn't get to integrating over a circle, but don't worry, it hasn't been on the test in the past twenty years." Guess what was question 1 of part 2.
In college I had to take multivariable calculus and differential equations, plus a bunch of statistics classes. I HATE STATISTICS. Plus, there was a lot of math worked into my engineering classes. May I never see another z-transform. |
Statistics in college..
|
differential equations.
|
In high school I went up to Honors Geometry in 12th grade.
College- I'm an English major so I only needed Intro to College Algebra. :D |
Calculus as a soph. in college-I loved this class ( the only math class I took and disliked was geometry in H.S.) I would have taken more but did not need it for vet. school and has way too many other classes to take.
|
hehe...
I'm a math and computer science major... This past year (my first year) I took multivariable calculus, linear algebra, and differential equations. And now I'm starting my upper div math classes... |
In undergrad, I took pre-cal Algebra/Trig and a stats class.
In grad school, I have to take one stats class. |
calculus 3
i took differential equations after calc 3 but decided to drop because 1) it was too hard 2) the professor sucked 3) i didnt need it for my major. |
High school: cal 1
Undergrad: Differential Equations |
In High School, I went up to AP Calculus (I took the AB exam).
In College, I only needed one semester of Psychological Statistics for my major, so that's all I took...figured I paid my dues enough with Calc in high school. |
High school: AP Calc - was taught to the BC exam, but I took the AB because I was lazy
College: Calc II with the most evil prof ever, after which I changed my major. At least I passed! |
Def.EQ.
The hardest math class I've taken was an upper level stats class. It's bad when you are sitting in class confused and you don't even know what questions to ask to try and understand the material. |
