I'm a pageant fan, too. I'll be watching Miss Teen USA.

I'm much more partial to Miss America, though, since I'm a volunteer at the local and state level. Miss America has just launched a teen program called Miss America's Outstanding Teen.

Should be interesting...

Is it me, or do a lot of these girls look like they are practicing their Playboy faces?

My husband was in Baton Rouge this past week and happened to be staying in the same hotel as the Junior Miss contestants.

I'm a nut for pageants, too . . . could be that the Miss Mississippi pageant is held in my hometown!

Miss Alabama is very attractive.

LOL, my little sister models prom dresses and she ended up modeling this dress. We called it "The Heniously Ugly Dress."

I heard that they were doing away with the Junior Miss program because they could no longer afford to keep it going...?

Anyway, I too volunteer with the local MAO prelim circuit and attended the Outstanding Teen luncheon. I hope things get better because it seemed like most of the girls were just carryovers from the Hawaii Teen USA program. :rolleyes: I was not impressed.

Being from Ohio I have to support Miss Ohio...what a pretty girl she is!! She looks way older than 16 though!!

ETA: Her evening gown and swimsuit pictures are much more natural-- but she is still very pretty overall! Go OHIO!

Maybe my husband was mistaken about the organization--he wouldn't know one pageant from the other! They probably were the Miss Teen USA contestants. When I went to the Miss Teen USA site, I thought it was kind of odd that they were in BR as well. I assumed that the pageants were both in BR but at different times. Thanks for the info, OTW.

If you go to Cover Girl you can vote for the girls in swimsuit, personality, and evening gown. You might have to sign up, but you get good make up info as well. I just did it. Some of the girls look 30. Some are not cute.

I would say that the chances she's been frog-gigging before are pretty damn minimal...just a ploy to make her look like a good ol' KY girl

My bets are on Miss Teen Alaska, Florida, and Illinois...but I kind of wonder why they are posing in the smallest shirts possible? They definitely do not look like teens...especially the ones making Playboy faces!

Yes, unfortunately. :( The last national program was held in Mobile in June.

What can I say--I called it from the beginning!!

GOOOOO OHIO!!!!!!!

She's only 16? Wow. That's nice to see that a 16 year old won against all of the 18 year olds.

Although I thought Miss Michigan had it...I thought Ohio would be runner up. Michigan seemed so "un-pageant" like...she would have been a refreshing one to have as Miss Teen USA.

No matter...either one would have been great!

I too picked Ohio from the start - what a cutie! :)

I was surprised each time Miss Michigan made it to the next cut just because she seemed less pagaent like. Miss Ohio was gorgeous and very poised and did a great job. Congrats to both of them!

I called Miss Ohio too. Miss Michigan was not a good candidate in my opinon. She was too tall, too lanky, she did not fit into her dress, it looked like a sack on her. She was not shapely! Miss Ohio was elegant, poised, sweet, and fit the role much better. (Although I always root for the black girls first) :D
