Latest music purchase?

What is the latest CD you have bought?

for me, The Decemberists-- Picaresque. It's amazing. "16 Military Wives" is on there, but the rest of the CD is INCREDIBLE and sounds nothing like that song.

It's simply absurd -Slug (from Atmosphere) and Murs, produced by ANT . . . a high-concept hip hop album about getting laid for being an indie icon, and it's maybe the best album that's been released all year.

The Decemberists album makes me want to whine then reference some bad poetry from the English Renaissance - that said, it's very solid, much better than their earlier work.

Anna Nalick- Wreck of the Day

The soundtrack to the Big Chill.

Before that it was Jack Johnson.

Usually, I let my husband buy CDs but that means we end up with a lot of "angry" music. Though every once in a while he will surprise me.

Five Times August- Fry Street

before that - Dave Matthews- Stand Up

I don't buy CDs much, but yesterday I went with my boyfriend to get Jason Mraz's new disc. It's not what I expected...some songs are similar to what's on his first CD, but others are...well, a little different. I haven't decided if I like it yet or not.

I rarely ever buy CD's but actually the last one I bought was Mariah Carey's Emancipation of Mimi... all my friends make fun of me cuz I'm a huge Mariah Carey fan... although I tend to like her earlier music better... but this CD is a lot better than some of hre later ones!!!

Motion City Soundtrack, I Am the Movie.

I've actually had all the mp3s of it for years, and I rarely buy CDs anymore, but I figured I should stop being hypocrite and start giving my money back to the artists I like in ways other than buying concert tickets and merch. It was the first CD I've bought in a LONG time.

I will occasionally go out and buy a bunch of CDs...My last trip ended with:

Jay-Z - The Black Album
50 Cent - The Massacre
Eminem - Infinite
Bizzare - Hannicap Circus

I recently downloaded Gwen Stefani's Love Angel Music Baby and I love most of it. It's not the kind of thing I normally listen to, but it's perfect for singing in the car on a hot day.

Yay it's an ASA thing, I just got this too. I finally feel like I'm listening to a Mariah album again (like the first two).

Label: Intrada Special Collection Volume 21
Date: 1978
Tracks: 26
Time = 56:32

World premiere of actual soundtrack to Peter Hyams political thriller/sci-fi triumph with James Brolin, Sam Waterston, O.J. Simpson, Elliot Gould, Hal Holbrook. Legendary action score by Jerry Goldsmith was previously issued as impressive but truncated 36-minute re-recording made in Europe. Intrada proudly presents complete score from original session masters made at MGM. As recorded for film, Goldsmith originals offer totally different listening experience: greater complexity, expansion of rhythmic ideas, more orchestral detail - plus numerous sequences not included in re-recording. Unique film editing of action scenes gives "pause and effect" feel. Goldsmith mirrors pace with "start and stop" action setpieces. "Break Out" remains crown jewel of his action career. As re-recorded for LP, composer re-writes tour-de-force, edits all sustained ideas. Film version offers dramatically different experience. Towering above all is greater dynamic range and presense of justifiably famous low brass ostinato. Previously unavailable highlight: brief but imposing trombone/tuba figure for initial appearance of killer helicopters. Through combined efforts of film licensor, American Federation of Musicians and Intrada, exciting special limited CD presentation offers complete score in dynamic stereo plus detailed liner notes by Jeff Bond, dramatic graphics by Joe Sikoryak. Jerry Goldsmith conducts. Limited edition of 3000 copies.

I've bought a lot of cds this summer

Doves: Last broadcast
Jack Johnson: In between Dreams
My Chemical Romance: Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge
Jeff Buckley: Grace
Ben Folds Five: Whatever and ever Amen (lost my previous copy)
Smashing Pumpkins: Rotten Apples (greatest hits compilation...mainly b/c I'll be damned if I am going to pay for the horrors that were Machina and Adore)

My latest purchase was the new Lifehouse cd, the one with "YOu and Me". I love that song, and I really like this cd - which is rare for me. I almost never can listen to a full cd without going back to the couple of songs I like. But I recommend this one.

Also Doobie Brothers Greatest Hits. Great cd.
