"See you next Tuesday"

A friend of mine says that saying to a girl, "see you next Tuesday" is the same thing as calling her a not-so-nice name.

Has anyone else heard this?

RedRoseSAI 07-22-2005 04:57 PM

Yes. It was actually one of the first episodes of American Dad - the alien said it while on the phone, filing his nails.

33girl 07-22-2005 05:03 PM

That's been around a lot longer than American Dad!

If you see Kay, don't say this to her. :)

ISUKappa 07-22-2005 05:35 PM

Doesn't Charlotte use this on SATC because she won't say the actual word?

Oh, I know...I just thought that was a really funny scene.

Phigirl04 07-22-2005 06:05 PM

Okay, I'm slow but what does it mean?

Also Can't Understand Normal Thinking

Ok...I listen to too much Tom Leykis! :D

Phigirl04 07-23-2005 12:50 AM

Wow, never would have guessed. I just can't say that word either. I always knew I should have watched SATC.

LOL.....I would've never thought that

I actually learned this acronym from our own 33Girl! Prior to that, I'd never heard it. It's clever so I liked it at once, plus the *C* word is probably the only word in the English language that I can't say.

You didn't miss much.

A great show, but very dated.

Interesting euphemism, to say the least. :D I, too, dislike the use of that four-letter word to crudely describe the female anatomy.

I've never heard that before! I'm like you, KR, it's one word I simply cannot say.

dude, when was that?

One of my friends went on a campaign our senior year for us to "own" this word, which pretty much got us all over our squeamishness of it.

Dionysus 07-24-2005 02:43 AM

What strange fudgekerzoids think of stuff like this?!?!?!!!??

lifesaver 07-24-2005 02:50 AM

My oldest sister was raised in Europe and grew up with a whole different set of mores and folkways.

She has no problem with using the c word. In fact, she calls her cat that as a nickname. "Come here Cunt!"

its vile.

Peaches-n-Cream 07-26-2005 12:40 PM

I heard this about 15 or 16 years ago. It's funny. I see my eye doctors on Tuesdays so I say it at the end of every appointment. :p

When I heard "emo" for the first time, I was surprised. It meant something entirely different to my friends and me. I'll give you a while to figure it out. ;)

krystle 08-04-2005 02:16 PM

*small bump?*

In the "Vagina Monolouges" they have a whole monolouge dedicated to the word, which ends with the actor getting the entire audience to scream it & attepting to get them over their fears of the word cunt.

I was fine with it...until I realized that I was watching it with my mother & godmother. And then I was just like..."ummm oops?"

:]

Jill1228 08-04-2005 03:44 PM

Try explaining it to a 75 year old lady!
My mother in law (who is VERY Pentacostal, no drinking, no wearing pants, no swearing, etc) was watching Dr. Phil and apparently he was counseling a couple. The man was guilty of calling his wife the "C" word. Of course the crowd was showing disapproval.

MIL came to me and told me about the show and asked me what the C word was and what it meant. OH SHIT!

I started by saying that it is worse than calling a woman a bitch and if Mr. 1228 ever called me that, she would have a dead son. That is when she KNEW it was bad. I told her what it was and she damn near had a stroke!

Mr. 1228 laughed his ass off when I told him that his mom actually asked me what the word was.

ZTABullwinkle 08-06-2005 04:05 AM

EMO = what????

Okay, someone help the blonde out....I may regret asking this, but what does "emo" stand for. It is probably overly obvious, but I can't figure it out!
