In this thread, we mourn RedRoseSAI's iPod

Dear iPod,

I miss you. It's only been a few days since I cruelly forgot about you. As you watched while I collected my carryon luggage, you no doubt wondered when I would pull you from the airplane seat pocket in front of me. I am so sorry that, in my sleepy state, I neglected to take you. The person who has you now can not possibly be a good person, as they did not contact American Airlines Lost & Found to facilitate our reunion. I am so sorry if they fill you with crappy music. More likely, you are sitting in a pawn shop somewhere in the Las Vegas area. If that's the case, I hope your next owner appreciates you and your cute pink case as much as I did. Your replacement might be bigger and sport a color screen, but it will never be the same. Farewell, my little electronic friend. Good luck out there.

I hope that one day you and your iPod will be reunited.

Unfortunately, the same thing happened when my bf left his first iPod in the back of a taxicab. He chased after the cab only to watch it disappear. Poor little iPod. :(

Taualumna 07-19-2005 11:45 AM

Poor iPod! :(

APhi Sailorgirl 07-19-2005 12:05 PM

So sorry, I mourn for you and your iPod.

Was it engraved? It could end up on ebay like one i saw in the news.

PureGoldF2K1 07-19-2005 02:03 PM

Oh no! I would be lost without my pretty blue mini!! I feel for ya.

vanda 07-19-2005 03:21 PM

I solemnly swear to equip my ipod with a GPS system so I will know where it is at all times. Heck, I may just use it only indoors.

Sadly, no. I was a poor iParent.

I totally understand your sadness. I too have left my iPod before. It is very sad. But just think about how happy you two will be to have each other back again soon!!!:)

I've been wanting an ipod connector. How much do those cost and how difficult is it to install them?

PM_Mama00 07-20-2005 12:14 AM

Aww I just bought a cute lil pink mini today and after one day I duno what I'd do without it!

PureGoldF2K1 07-20-2005 01:35 AM

its not exactly a lost ipod, but my mom reformatted her computer, and with everything that was wiped out, my itunes program was lost! Does anyone know if there is a way to reload the program and put new songs on it without wiping out the 500 songs already loaded? Everytime I would plug in the ipod, it would automatically update, and I dont want to lose everything!

I'm honestly not sure, this is a factory option for my car...the connector is hidden in the armrest and there is also an aux out plug so I can plug any mp3 player through the stereo to play, but only the ipod can be controlled by the headunit (and steering wheel controls... :D)

I have a connector I got at Best Buy that goes through your radio on a certain frequency. It was really cheap. It is good quality (but probably not as good as a direct connection) but I hate my car and want to get rid of it ASAP, so I couldn't see spending the $ on a nice connector.

You have to change your settings to "manually update ipod" and then everytime you want a new song added to your ipod, you have to move it over to it.

AchtungBaby80 07-20-2005 09:19 AM

Ohhhhhh...that sucks. :(

ragtimerose 07-20-2005 10:41 AM

Awww, poor little iPod. :(

I have a Zen, (Creative Labs) and I use it for traveling. Other than that, it stays home on my nightstand.

I thought that once you buy a song, it stays in the library? *confuzzled*

How do you do that? When I set it up yesterday it put tons of songs on there that I didn't want, and also put about 20 doubles of files on there that I had to go back and delete.

That's awesome. I've had a friend offer to wire one for me, but I don't know if I should let him or if it would be better to let a professional do it.
Are those pictures of your car, or just pictures you found? Good song by the way. :)

docetboy 07-20-2005 04:08 PM

I found the pictures on www.scionlife.com

I've yet to take delivery on my car, it's still on order from the dealer :(...atleast when I get it, it'll have 1 miles on it :)

When I got my brand new car back in 2001, it had 70miles on it when I got it...only because it had to be driven a ways to get to me. :) They're nice cars. Hope you enjoy yours!

I am sooo sad for your iPod. Sadly, I must say I haven't been giving mine the attention she deserves, as her friend, charger seems to have disapeared, and she's just not the same with out herbuddy. she turns on, then off again, won't play music, just sits there looking all pink :(

GeekyPenguin 07-22-2005 10:47 AM

My iPod died and has been sent back to Apple. I am a lonely little girl.

You can get the songs off your ipod this way and then not have to worry about losing them.

Or, if you've got Windows, you can get songs off your iPod like this:

1. Plug your iPod into the computer
2. Open Windows Explorer
3. Tools - Folder Options - View - Show hidden files - Ok
4. Your iPod should show up as a drive on your computer. Click on it, and you will be able to click and drag folders onto your computer. They'll probably be in some strange folder structure, but your iTunes can reshuffle all that.

ephpod is a free program and does more than get the songs...

RedRoseSAI 07-22-2005 12:23 PM

I see that it's free, which is why I edited my post. I was thinking of another program which is not free. What else does ephpod do?
