Highs and Lows
 

Because not too much is going on in this forum, I've decided to start a new Highs and Lows thread. We need something to keep us busy until rush starts again!

Highs: I started a new blog Shirt Snob http://www.shirtsnob.com, and I'm terrified of it. But so far it seems to be going well, and I'm really enjoying writing for it.

Also, my Alpha Phi highs are that I'm getting an alum event worked out for the summer, when we don't seem to have events. We're going to invite the local collegiates too, and I really hope they come. Also, I have a really good feeling about COR at the school I advise, I think we're going to have a good rush this fall.

Lows: I'm not working right now, and I feel guilty for it even though the people that matter most in my life support this 100%, especially my husband. I just wish my friends were a bit more supportive.

I'm so glad that you started this again, Laura!

Highs: I am having a wonderful houseguest this week. This is someone who I enjoy having around and won't wear out their welcome.

Lows: This day is not going fast enough. I can't believe it is only 2 pm. It feels like it should noon tuesday. I know it is becaue I am looking forward to Harry Potter on saturday.

Highs: Only 5 more weeks of grad school left and a very good job possibility.

Lows: our server at the internship is down, so there's not much to do

work is crazy and because of that I don't get enough time with the baby or my husband
i feel like summer is slipping by!

Highs: I only have a half day of work tomorrow.Since I work 6am-2, that means at 10am my work day is done tomorrow.Plus my book is coming out and I am attending a book release party.

Lows: I get to come home and clean my house and run errands so I can have my weekend free to read.

Highs: Harry Potter in less than 9 hours!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lows: I spent the night at my grandparents' house in RI where there is *NO* a/c. It was humid as hell by the beach, so I didn't sleep at all. So no midnight party for me. I'm hitting the gym and then bed by 7pm.

low:john left for ireland for a week today
low: working 80 hours this week on a project that isn't going well

High: an unexpected call from LD in the middle of the day

Aphigal, I'm always in RI. Do you want to get together for a drink at the Mews? I'm planning on going down the weekend after this one, but since I'm not working, I really can at any time. I'd love to see you!

High: My husband's company released some big thing today, so it looks like he'll continue having a job that allows me not to work this summer.

Low: I am so upset over the ending of Harry Potter. Like really really upset. As in I now think I hate the series and want to cry.

High: Had a blast in Kelowna, BC. Very pretty place

Low: The kids didn't do too well in the baseball tournament. Mr. 1228's arthritic knee was hurting him badly. (He has had a bum knee since being ran over by a bus as a kid)

High: Justin (the step kid) got MVP for the first game (he plays 1st base)

Low: Gotta finish reading Harry Potter 4 and read 5 before I can read the new one (I bought it in Kelowna)

High: Mr. 1228's birthday is today

Low: gotta go back to work tomorrow

High: Exec meeting for my alum chapter. I am so excited to get back into the swing of things, I hate how nothing happens during the summer. I have a ton of programming ideas, I can't wait to share them! I also have a finance meeting to get the budget done (finally) for Bentley. I can't wait for Sept!

Lows: Someone I used to work with at Barnes and Noble was in a serious car accident in ME. He'll be ok eventually they think, but I feel so bad for him.

Low: The kid's team lost so they are not going to the provincial tournament. I had taken the time off for the tourney

High: We are going to use that time off I took to go to Las Vegas!

High: Matthew starts school tomorrow.......Kindegarten!!!!!!!!!! BEFORE IT WAS PRE KINDEGARTEN....NOW THE BIG TIME!

Low: It is sooooo stinkin hot and humid!

High: I am pregnant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just found out this morning!

Low: I ate too much dinner and may not have room in my belly for the celebratory sundae.

WHOA! Now THAT is cause for celebration! Congratulations to you.:D

Must be something in the water...3 girls at work just found out

Uh oh, two soon to be mommies in the BAC. Congrats, now definitely a reason to come visit Boston next year!

High: I will be done with grad school friday and back home in MD on Sunday.

Low: Today is my last day at my internship. I've been here for 8months, it's going to be hard to say goodbye.

And we didn't have an online candle pass??? :D

Low: I am on and off nauseous now. The bad waves are really bad. Haven't thrown up yet, but I don't get how women work while pregnant, or with other children that they have to take care of. I can barely get out of bed.

High: My email is back after being down for over 3 days. I was curing gmail all weekend. But now I have it back and had a great email from my Dir. of rush telling me that she's prepared for the fall!

So excited for you!! Shopping for expensive diaper bags is even more fun than shopping for expensive purses!!

We should hold an online shower for you!!!

Around April 17. My first appointment is for Wednesday, so maybe I'll get an accurate one, not just the random one they give you on ivilliage. I really hope the doctor gives me some good ideas for food. I just made myself a big bowl of mashed potatoes from spuds, and I feel good for the first time in a week. I need more ideas like that.

No one needs to buy me presents! I am going to buy myself a very expensive baby bag, that's one of the best parts of being pregnant! I started looking before I got pregnant. I'm thinking of making one at 1154 Lill and then buying another one somewhere else.

High - This past weekend's Rush Retreat which Sistermadly invited me to (thank you thank you thank you!) It revived my love of this sorority and has made me so proud to say that I am a member of the UBC chapter of APHI! Those women are so amazing and dedicated and strong and they are going to ROCK at fall recruitment!!!

Low - my long summer off is over as of Thursday and I have to go back to work! :(

High - I still have 2 full days off before I have to go back to the office. :) Lots of time for another frapuccino.

High: Seeing YogiPhi and Sismadly at the Rush Retreat! Man, it was good seeing y'all again

Low: I am not feeling so hot and called in sick today

High: Parents in town today, but...

Low: They are here because I am having surgery tomorrow. :-(

You have done an awesome job for the Gamma Iota chapter's website, not to mention other help you provide. J.S.-VPM is my daughter.
I am a TTU alum and officer with the Tech Parents. We welcome new freshmen and their parents to our University, host Family Weekend and award 56 scholarships each year.
I attended the chapter's amazing "Mock Party" and helped during Pref Night. All of the girls and alum were wonderful... They were so full of energy and high spirits.

Again ~ wishes for a speedy fast recovery...
