People on here think they're in elementary school, and thus create fake screen names, so that they can keep their "rep" while letting go of some GC agression.

I think it's pretty funny, but maybe that's just me.

For a mother phucker whos been on here for 5 years I am way outta the loop. I dont chat, so I never know whats up.

I still have no idea who the sheetcake, gluestick or the grapist is. I have no proof, but I believe that valkyrie is behind one of them. I have no proof or anything, but she likes to fuck with people when they get all big for their britches so I could see that shit going down that way. That whole I found a new home in a restauraunt shit was pretty funny.

lol, it's not even so much people creating usernames to start trouble. It's people who were GCers and switching to an "anon" username. It started with AnonAlumna, then Kasis-anon, and now JenMarie. And the funniest thing is, they're not saying anything all that contraversial! It's not like they're posting about their sex life or something that arguably shouldn't involve your letters....

If you're going to hide behind a username...at least try and be funny gat-dammit.

Another thing about these usernames, these people's sigs basically say that they're doing it so they can contribute better, etc. Why on earth can't you do that under your real username? It's more of a contribution when you have SOME credibility. Don't you want to admit what org you're in, aren't you proud of it?

Sorry you don't approve, kddani. My personal decision was based SOLELY on the fact that the National offices of my GLO monitor this board and members of my organization have gotten reprimanded for things said in this board. I don't care to participate in anything controversial and I tend to avoid the isht starting threads, I didn't before either. To me this is just easier than having my letters attached to my opinions and comments.

Again...sorry if this bothers anybody...if you need any further information you can PM me. If you want to figure out the GLO, you can probably look at members who've been deleting a lot of their posts! I'm not trying to be super-sly or hide, BetaRose, and if you know who I am that's great. In fact, I've already told a few people who've PM'd and asked. It's NOT that big of a deal!

It got deleted. Some moderators got their panties all up in a wad, probably because they know that the last good looking woman their husbands ever saw naked jumped out of me. ;)

First of all, I don't see why anyone cares that people are making up anonymous screen names. Many of the people on GC have more than one screen name already, but nobody has said anything about it before.

Second of all, I want to comment on what ariesrising said here (not trying to single out ariesrising, just using her quote to make my point). Everyone in this thread agrees that people need to not hide behind a new screen name, nobody is going to base their opinion of a GLO off one person's comments, etc. But why, then, do we blast the PNMs who come on here and say the stuff they say? We tell them they need to be more discreet and/or more anonymous. Perhaps these new anonymous posters have a reason to feel they could be singled out a bit more than other members of their GLO on here, such as being national officers, or running for a chapter office, or whatever. Or perhaps they feel they've become too "un-anonymous" and want to start fresh. I don't know.

I just think that there's a bit of a double-standard on GC and everybody needs to just chill.

Well I advise the PNM's to be discreet because there could be women on here who they will meet IRL who will remember what they said. First impressions can be a bitch. I know that I will meet very few of you IRL and I could care less what you think.

Besides, I've said worse to members of our IC than I've said on here...............they all know my opinions. And if I cared, I wouldn't point out threads to them that I thought they should read regarding topics that I know they are also debating (AI being one).

My thing is (and I may not be the only one) that I have no respect whatsoever for any of these anonymous posters. If you want your opinion to matter to people, you should be willing to put your name to it. Otherwise you're just wasting your time.

That's why I went from one name to another. I had to change it. Apparently, what I had once posted wasn't cool with some people so I was "asked" politely to change my name as well as delete an old LJ account & start a new one under a new one. :rolleyes: Some people need to get lives.

EDIT: It's not that I ever posted something negative about my GLO. It's more that since PNM's might check the boards, some comments I had posted might reflect negatively on my GLO so it was decided that I should change my info.

Word to all of this.

I don't know whether or not my IHQ has people reading this board, but I've never been reprimanded for anything I've posted here, and there's probably some stuff that was out of line.

Inter/National Officers are only going to care if you make posts about your last gangbang, drugs that you did, crazy parties that your group was a part of, or otherwise really negative stuff. I would hope most of our NOs have much better things to do with their time that go through someone's GC posts to reprimand them for saying that recruitment should go back to being called rush.

And as for PNMs.... that's a whole 'nother ball of wax. Yes we're not judging orgs by their GCers, but a PNM only represents herself, a PNM. Not any particular group. So it's not like we're judging a school's entire group of PNMs by the dimwit posting a rush thread.

And for those who have changed their names previously... well, they had obvious reasons for doing so. Some people made some pretty wild/crazy/stupid/etc posts with their letters blazing in their sig and screenname. But then again, most of those people are pretty open about what username they used to be and aren't really hiding who they are. They learned from their mistakes and started over.

Is it that difficult to change your screen name? I thought that right was reserved for mods and such.

Nope, Delta Sig Stan just did it and he's not a mod. tnxbutterfly changed hers before she was modded. Lots of people have done it.

I have no problem w/ anyone changing their name, but when you go on & on about how you're doing it to be panhellenic or promote unity or whatever, it really makes me wonder what sort of nasty things you said in some of your old posts. If you want to be "discreet" then just stay off GC till John can change your user name for you, and then start posting again. The bigger a deal you make of it, the bigger of a deal it will be, and it will kind of ruin the "discreet" thing.

Barely posted/came on excepted to read the AGD forum. Didn't really post there either. I've been on GC since 98 or 99 or something ridiculous...
I used to post stuff I wouldn't dare post now (older, wiser, more discreet) but the ONE post I got bitched at by my IHQ was for something totally unrelated to anything sexual, nothing about drinking, nothing about boys- it was a post about a badge.
My name has never said my GLO and if I post something I think may reflect poorly on it I don't use my sig anymore.

And I have never had a problem saying what I think. Some tell me that is my problem...

But I still don't get the name changing thing, unless someone asks you to do it..
I mean if you have multiple personality disorder, I totally understand... but why else?
