Who else is anxious to get back to school?

I know that I complained nonstop about all the homework, paper, and assignments, but I REALLY MISS MY SCHOOL!!!! I love my jobs (all 3 of them), but I just miss seeing my friends, studying together, chatting at the cafe between classes, meeting people at the library (where I know all the guards by name I'm there so much), choir practice, org. meetings, I MISS IT ALL! I know that summer breaks help slow down the years and college will pass me by in a second, but I really want to get the grind started again, even if starting it sooner means it'll end sooner. I want to get back to my other life. Does anyone else find that you get antsy mid-summer and start missing school?

DeltaEtaKP 07-08-2005 01:46 AM

I have been ready to go back since before school got out!!! I don't really want to do the homework and stuff, but I miss everything else!
ETA: Only 33 more days...

Stef the Pef 07-08-2005 03:17 AM

A huuuuge amen to what's been said...I liked the independence, the friends, the fun, the random meetings and events, the football games...just not the studying bit. Big tests and projects make me nervous as all heck. It's been fun seeing all my high school friends and all, but nuts, it's cold up here in Seattle and I need to get back to Texas warmth (well, OK, TX hotness because it'll be hot and sticky August when I get back there) ASAP!

OMG 49 days...

Dionysus 07-08-2005 07:53 AM

I am! I'll probably regret it though, I always hear that grad school is far more intense than undergrad. Well, as long as I get to meet people, old and new, I'm fine. I'm so happy my GLO lets me stay active in grad school.

winneythepooh7 07-08-2005 09:12 AM

I've been out of grad school for over a year and never thought I would say this but I actually do miss it. I am getting itchy to take some courses in something but I don't know what. Who knows, maybe I will decide to go back one day for my DSW and go into teaching!!

Pecan 07-08-2005 02:10 PM

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one ready to get back to school! I'm really excited and optimistic because I've transfered schools, and I am ready to meet new people, make new friends, and experience new things. Oh yeah, I'll do some schoolwork too.

KatieKate1244 07-08-2005 02:18 PM

As much as I love being home, I am dying to get back to school! I can only stand serving chicken wings for so long.

copacabana 07-08-2005 02:19 PM

I'm sooo excited to get back to school! As nice as it is to be home with my family and catch up with old friends, I'm dying to have my own place again and see friends from school! 50 more days until I go back:(

Xylochick216 07-08-2005 05:11 PM

ME ME ME!!!

Oh wait, I graduated :( Guess I'm stuck in the real world. Man, I miss college. Has it really been over a year?

WVU alpha phi 07-08-2005 07:36 PM

I'm constantly saying I can't wait to get back to Morgantown! I went up for a weekend visit 2 weeks ago and I swear I didn't want to come home to Maryland AT ALL. I guess it doesn't help that I hate my summer job and my hometown is ridiculously boring! I think I have something like 45 days until I'm back at WVU and living my first year in the sorority house, and I CAN'T WAIT!

KSUViolet06 07-08-2005 09:22 PM

I am. As much as I love being home, I miss my chapter and even going to CLASSES.

Private I 07-09-2005 09:54 AM

Nope. Sorry. I feel like I'm still in school because I'm studying for the blasted GRE. Jeez halfway around the world and I still can't get away from school.

1heart1way 07-09-2005 01:36 PM

I am very looking forward to going back to school. My family and living at home are driving me crazy!

BirthaBlue4 07-09-2005 01:46 PM

I have no desire to go back to school. AT ALL. However, I just applied to start grad school in September like an idiot, so back I go. Only this time, its online.

I am, however, looking forward to going back to school in the sense that I'm a teacher and I'm about to start my first year, teaching a Special Ed Kindergarten class. And getting a fat salaried check. That's really my main motivation right now lol. So I can move.

carnation 07-09-2005 02:04 PM

I'm practically ready for school, it's just that I don't want to let go of the summer! I'm almost certainly teaching an overload, boo, plus i'm not looking forward to hauling the kids to football, cheerleading, etc. However, I love my students and I can't wait to see if my daughter pledges!

Aw, studying for the GRE sucks. But hey, if I can do OK on it even with my nonexistent math skills, you should be all right! :)

ADqtPiMel 07-09-2005 04:03 PM

As much as I love living in DC (wayyyyyyy more than living in Ohio), I can't wait to see my family and my girlfriends again. Only one more year. :(

christiangirl 07-14-2005 06:51 PM

I'm so glad I'm not alone on this one!!! I've bought a few of my textbooks and have been trying to study a bit so when I get back, the transition will be smoother. I know a few people who've done that, I thought I was the only one who decided to be a dork for the summer!

So, what's the first (big) thing you're going to do when you get back, after you're all moved in and stuff? I'm going to my friend's apartments and scream and hug for awhile (a must :) ), and try to catch up on the last 3 1/2 months. Then, classes await! Any meetings you're already looking forward to?

UKDaisy 07-25-2005 12:12 AM

I am so anxious to get back to school! This is my last year and I can't wait to get out and done.

Rollergirl2001 07-26-2005 07:07 PM

I'm already back at school for summer school. I'm taking a hour credit class (Biology lab). But I can't wait until the fall semester. This fall will be my last semester. I would like to stay for an extra semester, but my aunt is graduating from law school next spring and I don't know when her graduation date is. I'm afraid that it would be the same date as mine if I would have graduated in the spring.

Anyway, it's going to be sad when I leave. I will miss it. College is way too fun! :(

DeltaEtaKP 07-26-2005 09:56 PM

I get to move back in on Monday. I am super pumped!!!

amanda6035 07-26-2005 10:01 PM

This is exactly why...

I take summer classes. The 3 weeks between spring and summer semester, and the 3 weeks between summer and fall semester is about all the "break" I can handle.

Proverbs31 08-02-2005 03:58 PM

Though I'm taking summer courses, I cannot wait for fall quarter to begin! Summer quarter is just so dull!

eta: I graduate this spring!! yay! :D

unfaltering 08-02-2005 04:19 PM

I am so ready to go back. It's been a year since I graduated from undergrad. It was a nice little break but life after college is no joke, especially if you're broke:o. So I'm more then ready to get back to the books.

CatStarESP4 08-05-2005 06:16 PM

I'm going back to school after three years! I am taking some classes at a local community college. I can't wait until classes start! They should be interesting!

alphaxikt 08-05-2005 06:40 PM

I miss school too! This "unstructured" vacation business is kinda driving me crazy.

Kevin 08-12-2005 01:39 AM

Hell yeah.. I graduated back in '03, but start law school on the 21st. I'm actually pretty excited.

In retrospect, I really liked school although I didn't realize it at the time :)

I'm sitting down to brief my first case tonight. It's a historic moment...

I love that Seattle has been nice and cool for the past few days... 65 is much better than 95 in my book!
