Skit Songs

Hi, ladies!

I have a quick question. I'm the skit chair for recruitment for the Iota Psi chapter (Elon University), and we need a modern song for skit. We used "Stronger" by Britney Spears for the past 2 years, but we need to update it. Does anyone have any good lyrics? Thanks!

Sharon

We had a dream theme for our skit this yea and used "Baby Boy" but changed it to Alpha Chi. I don't remember excatly what the other changes were but im sure i could find out if you wanted. I was disaffliated so i didnt' see any of the background stuff but the result was very cute and alot of the PNM's enjoyed it:) Godd luck!!

I'm Crashing your board!!

Hey girls, I just saw this topic and had to share the cutest Alpha Chi song I remembered from rush. The Baylor chapter uses that country song "sold" but instead of "she's an 8, she's a 9, she's a 10 I know" they say, She's an A, she's a Chi, She's an A Chi O. It was precious. They went through most of the rest of the song the same, ( I saw something I just had to have....my mind told me I should procede with caution, but my heart said go ahead and make a bid on that. And I said hey pretty lady won't you give me a sign, I'll give anything to make you mine.....etc.. it's great. If you want the rest of the words, check out their website and contact their RVPs. Those two are awesome. :D

Thanks for the suggestions, everyone! If anyone else has any modern rock songs, PM me and let me know. I've loved the other suggestions!

Have a safe and happy holiday!

Here at the Zeta Omega chapter, we have our own Alpha Chi version of "Baby got Back" by sir mixalot. I know its an ancient song, but I think its one of those you can use forever. Email me for the lyrics :) carebearwcu@hotmail.com

Rush Chants Help!

Hello ladies! I am a sister of Alpha Chi Omega at Western Carolina University (Zeta Omega). We are trying to come up with some cute UPBEAT chants b/c all of ours are pretty slow. Does anyone out there have any upbeat chants or any to maybe famous songs? thanks girlies!:D

IotaRhoAXO 02-11-2004 04:34 PM

Hey there,
We used a cute song a couple years ago when we had an island theme party. It went to the tune of Jimmy Buffet's "Volcano", but the words were "I don't know, I don't know, I don't know where Im gonna go but I'm thinking A Chi O." Then as they were leaving the party we changed the words to "Now I know where I'm gonna go and I'm going A Chi O." It was cute, we had sisters shaking maracas and everything. :D
Hope that helps!

Exit/Goodbye Songs

So i know that there are several threads about songs here, but this one is sliiiiiigggghhhtly different...Beta Delta needs new exit/goodbye songs desperately for our upcoming recruitment and as VP Rec i've been driving myself crazy trying to figure out some good ones...we already use the Coke song and the Green Acres one, but does anybody have any suggestions for fun, simple tunes or jingles that really get stuck in your head out of cute catchiness? either post or PM me if you want to keep it in the AXO 'hood :D have a great day everyone!

lyrelyre 06-24-2004 11:19 AM

We have have 4 songs that we sing at the door. For the first round we sing "Madness", House Tour/Philanthropy Day we do a chant with clapping called "Hey Go Alpha," Skit Day we sing "Goodbye" (that will probably be changing), and at Prefs we sing "Wishing" (I wish that would change). You may know these songs by other names.

Madness:

"We call it fun, but you might call it madness,
Stay her with us and you'll forget your sadness,
With our lyre and our pearls
We are true hearted girld
And when you are gone
You'll remember our song
We are the Alpha Chi Omega, Alpha Chi Omega, Alpha Chi Omega Girls"

about one third of the girls sing "Alpha Chi Omega" so it's kind of, but not really, a round

Hey Go Alpha:
"Hey Go Alpha, Hey Go Alpha, Hey Go Alpha, Hey Go Alpha Chi O. Go Go
It's time to go we, hate to say goodbye
We hope you will, choose Alpha Chi
We must part for, just a little while
Alpha Chi Omega"

Goodbye:
"The time has come when you have to go,
can't get along without ya now,
Got along without ya before we met ya
but we can't get along without ya now,
So long, Farewell,
We'll see you soon,
Goodbye, Goodbye from Alpha Chi
Goodbye, Goodbye,
Goodbye, Goodbye,
Goodbye from Alpha Chi

Xylochick216 06-24-2004 01:26 PM

We use "Goodbye, Goodbye" and "Hey Go Alpha" as well as "The Girls of Alpha Chi Omega Say Goodbye to You." "The Girls" is hard to keep slow and doesn't sound that great, but "Hey Go Alpha" is everyone's favorite, especially when you do the motions :)

Twist on your "Hey Go Alpha" - which we call the "Chi-Chi" song:

Chi-Chi Alpha Chi Omega Alpha Chi-Chi Alpha Chi Omega
Its time to go
We hate to say goodbye
Hope that you'll come back
To Alpha Chi
But we'll part for
just a little while
Chi-Chi Alpha Chi Omega Alpha Chi-Chi Alpha Chi Omega

Here is another version that can be for either entrance or goodbye:

Chi-Chi Alpha Chi Omega Alpha Chi-Chi Alpha Chi Omega
Alpha Chi Omega is
Our sorority
She's got the girls with
Personality
Listen as we sing of her
Lyre pin and pearls
Chi-Chi Alpha Chi Omega Alpha Chi-Chi Alpha Chi Omega

We're bound to her
That's clearly plain to see
Alpha Chi Omega is
the best sorority
Listen as we sing of her
Lyre pins and pearls
Chi-Chi Alpha Chi Omega Alpha Chi-Chi Alpha Chi Omega

I think the best thing about this song is that it is so catchy. I remember singing it in my head for days during my recruitment.

SKit songs

Hey everyone!

I am in need of some good skit songs. Our chapter desperately needs to update! We are needing a country song and an oldies song (just to give you an idea of what we've been doing, we did Jodee Messina's "I'm alright" and "Browneyed girl"). Yes, these were cute, but it's time to move on. I remember hearing somewhere on this site something about changing the words to "Sold" by John Michael Montgomery. If any of you know the lyrics could you PM me? This goes for any other song as well. Thanks a lot!

AXOKatie 07-01-2004 12:32 PM

Thanks guys :) Now I have some titles and lyrics that I can ask other AXOs to give me the tunes for, much easier than saying "Hey, you know that song...uhhh, yeah, with the AXO in it?" I'm bad at this creativity stuff....it's funny too, because I've been watching a ton of TV and singing along to commercials to see if we could make an exit song to it...my bf's going to start thinking I'm nuts!

Recruitment Songs!!

Hi Everyone!!

Well here at UC Davis, our recruitment begins in a little more than a month, and we all have been working hard planning it. The part that we are having the most trouble with is the songs. We do the same songs every year and they are getting old and boring. I know you all do some fun songs at your chapters, and we would love to be able to use your ideas during our recruitment. Right now we do "Well the time has come", "Alpha Chi (to the Buttercup tune)". "Pass it on". and last year we did "Perfect Day" from Legally Blonde. Please let me know what songs you guys do because we desperatly need some new ones!! Thanks so much.

looking for songs and lyrics for pref

hey kids, I am looking for a song that is not in a very high key that we can sing for our pref round here at tcu. we have the rose right now but we do not have any lyrics related to alpha chi omega to go with it. I knoe that it has been done before, but we cannot find the words that were sung with it before. If someone could help us out with anything, that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, K.Knapek Iota Lambda TCU

Xylochick216 08-19-2004 11:49 AM

chants/cheers

hey everyone-

we at iota psi (elon univ) are gearing up for recruitment which starts in a few days. of course we are excited as well as a little nervous. here is my question: do any of you have any cheers/chants we could use on bid day? we do "a a a to the chi, chi chi chi to the o, a to the chi, chi to the o, a chi o" but that gets a little old after the 10th time or so. if any of you could post or PM me with things you've used on bid day i'd really appreciate it.

interesting story: one of our sisters was at the capitol over holiday break and met condoleezza rice! terry (our sister) happened to be wearing an AXO shirt and condi was like, "i'm an AXO too!" so they talked about AXO and stuff and terry said she was one of the nicest people she's ever met. how cool is that? i'm glad to hear that condi still remembers AXO even when she's sec. of state :)

thanks y'all. be safe in this weather - it is GROSS!

AChiOAlumna 01-23-2005 11:39 PM

The chapter I advise also does a chant of:

A-L-PHA C-H-I
O-M-EGA
Alpha Chi!!

That's so cool about Ms. Rice!! Glad to see she hasn't lost her ties with AXO!

AXOhottie 02-02-2005 02:30 PM

This might be a little bit late, but we usually chant

M-E-M-B-E-R-S new members!
M-E-M-B-E-R-S new members!
M-E-M-B-E-R-S new members!
New members of Alpha Chi!

or

Alpha Chi Omega, couldn't be prouder
If you can't hear us, we'll yell a little louder.

When we go get our Rho Gammas, we'll do the two already mentioned in the previous posts or "A Yell" or "Boom Boom."

Hope recruitment went well. We had our bid day last Friday for formal recruitment and got 14 awesome girls! We have COB events planned for this weekend. We're hoping to get up to at least 20. How did you guys do?

lalaelon 02-04-2005 07:47 PM

We got around 31 girls on Bid Day but have since COB'ed 14 more amazing women! (Personally, I prefer COB to formal rec. So much more chill and relaxed and no stupid "fake" conversations). Tonight the new members are having a sleepover at the house and tomorrow is an all-chapter retreat. Unfortunately I am at home because of a family emergency but I'm sure they'll have a great time!

carebearwcu 02-05-2005 01:14 PM

We have some alright chants:

We began in Indiana in 1885
as we spreas accross the nation alpha chi became alive
now we're here at wcu and we're glad to welcome you
we are glad that we are the alpha chis

we are glaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad
never saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad
we are glaad that we are the alpha chis and we wear our lyres...(ok, these 2 parts go at the same time)
1. hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii iigh
2. studies and fun, sisterhood combined in one
we are glad that we are the alpha chis

well, the lyre is our pin and its set with many pearls
which are just as close together as the alpha chi girls
so just look for a friendly face and you know you've found your place
come and live and love and laugh with alpha chi

we are glaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad
never saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad
we are glaad that we are the alpha chis and we wear our lyres...(ok, these 2 parts go at the same time)
1. hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii iigh
2. studies and fun, sisterhood combined in one
we are glad that we are the alpha chis
ALPHA CHI!

my favorite is the one we do when they come to the house to accept their bids:

Give my regards to Phi Mu
remember me at Alpha Xi
tell all the girls at Z-T-A they won't be seeing me (hell no!)
tell Alpha Gam I'm yearning
to wear my lyre pin high
tell all the girls at ol' DZ
that I went Alpha Chiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!

:D

By the way, quota here at Western Carolina University was 15 and we have the best 15 girls that came thoughr rush!

For homecoming, we are doing the Always Alpha Chi theme. Just like always Coca-cola. We really want to teach the chapter the words to the Coca-cola song with the Alpha Chi words. Can someone that knows the words please send them to me. This is kinda short notice since homecoming is this Saturday, but it would be wonderful if we could have the words! Thanks!

The stars will always shine
The birds will always sing
Where ever there is fun
There's always the real thing.
Alpha Chi Omega is always the one
Where ever there is fun there's

WE'RE A CHI O

new songs for skit...

i am from delta mu (umass amherst) and we rewrote the words to "lets get it started" by the black eyed peas... if you'd like the lyrics email me!!

kriles827@gmail.com

kpaxo 05-24-2006 07:55 PM

We did our own version last year of that rap song. I dont know the real name but it goes like "aww skeet skeet" anyways! We said like to the lyres to the pearls, to the parties that we throw, all the guys they want to go.. and then we named off diff frats from our campus. Another school used it one year too. It was really cute!

CEDAXO09 01-18-2007 01:13 AM

For our skit we also used "SOS" by Rhianna. It was great. Instead of "SOS" we did "A Chi O".

Hiiiii Ms. Krilesssss!

AXO86 02-13-2007 09:06 PM

To the tune of the "witch doctor"

A-L-P-H-A C-H-I Omega
A-L-P-H-A C-H-I Omega
We are the Alpha Chis and we are really great
We wear the golden lyre, there is no mistake
We are the greatest girls here at _____ (insert school)
A-L-P-H-A C-H-I Omega
A-L-P-H-A C-H-I Omega

Xylochick216 02-13-2007 09:35 PM

We used the "witch doctor" song for recruitment. It worked well.

We had a lot of fun songs, but a lot need to be shown in person. There are a lot that don't translate well on paper!

ILOVEAXO 03-11-2007 03:13 AM

Have any of Ya'll hear the Alpha Chi Omega rap?? It's AMAZING! Here's the lyrics!

Yeah … uh uh
Yo’ boy DJ Skrilla right hurr
I was chillin’ in the Rover, me & my soldiers,
Seen mami walkin’ & she’s sippin’ on a Cola,
Hopped out the roller, called shorty over,
& saw them Alpha Chi Omega letters & said “Hold up,”
“Wait, mami won’t you stay right thurr,”
“No need to be scurred ‘cuz I like you hurr.”
As a matter of fact, I like yo’ whole team,”
Alpha Chi Omega, people freeze when you on the scene.
That’s why they drop they jaws, stare in awe,
It’s been like that since 1885, DePauw (wha?)
University, ‘til the time currently,
Looks like white hooks ‘cuz they really put a hurt on me.
HOLLA! It’s ALPHA CHI … OMEGA, throw it up to the sky!
Keep your hands high as we ride tonight,
‘Cuz yo’ boy Skrilla’s here on yo’ side tonight.
It’s a rap & a fact, that you got it on track,
Others do it like this, y’all do it like that.
No frontin’ right hurr, my lovin’s quite pure,
Alpha Chi Omega (right wha?), right thurr.
So just … clap yo’ hands, clap yo’ hands,
As we … just begin, just begin,
How seven women got together, runnin’ they minds,
Took a chapter & flipped it a hundred times,
Over one hundred & 30 chapters full of women,
Thats good hearted & they just getting started,
and I’m a fan how they floss & glow,
Pretty soon they’ll be chapters sittin’ all across the globe,
While they aid to trauma, aid to drama,
Alpha Chi, type of girl,
I bring home to mama,
Friendships is buildin’, while they skillded,
Alpha Chi helping battered women & children, feel it.

HOLLA! It’s ALPH CHI … OMEGA, throw it up to the sky!
Alpha Chi, where you at? If you’re wit’ me, say “hurr”
Skrilla’s in the house & you know I’m hurr,
It’s quite clear that you know we hurr (we hurr) [repeat]
Alpha Chi Omega,
Drop the K add a C then you have the,
Women’s fraternity that’s known for looks,
Known for smarts, & known for appreciatin’ the arts,
And it hits my heart, I’m sendin’ my lovin’,
Why buy you one red carnation when I can get you a dozen?
In a olive green basket, y’all fantastic,
Alpha Chi Omega gotta have it, can’t pass it.
Yo’ boy, DJ Skrilla, representin’, HOLLA, Alpha Chi Omega,
Together let us seek the heights,
I know that’s right.
and that's nice, haha, yeah

*It's by DJ Scrilla if ya'll were wonderin'!
