What are some typical LCA chants that you use around all of your chapters, or any songs that you all have as party songs?

Maybe some of the other brothers can correct me if I am wrong, but I think this song started at Wake WAYYYYYYY back in the day. I know that even now we yell it as loud as we can whenever we hand out bids on bid day. I hope this helps, and I am sure that I will get a chance to demonstrate it's cadence whenever we see each other next. Get your @SS up to Wake sometime and we will have a cookout and PARTY!!!

Well I've been known to be some what of a chant "motivator" over the years. But the chant I'm best known for is a wee bit crude.

But We as LXA Known as the Singing Fraternity seems to have been lost.:(

My Zeta never did this that I can Remember.

In my undergrad days, long ago I heard:

A little tune sung immediately after Were all Good Brothers that started off as..."Rat Shit, Bat Shit..."

And a song that's lyrics rhymed with "Ya Know." To the tune of "the troops go marching in one by one"

And thats all I have to say about that.

Could someone PM me the Kazoo Kazam or Rat Shit, Bat Shit chants? I want to see if they're at all similar to the one we have at our chapter.

I happened to find full verses/songs on another Lambda Chi forum about chants and songs. I dont always promote other forums b/c G.C. is my favorite but I do encourage the networking of Brothers always!

Very repetitive and easy to remember so its easy for sporting events.

Yea, as JT has said, we have a similar chant to the Rat shit, bat shit that follows our "Link", which includes the "We're all good brothers" chant.
It's interesting to see how different chants travel and evolve at different chapters...
My father, who also is a Lambda Chi from the Lambda Mu chapter (University of South Florida) apparently had a famous song called "Mimi, the Lambda Chi widow"... that's an odd one for sure...

Haha, no... Matt Troy is a legend in the house, but not my big brother. My lineage does not extend to Matt's, but we're all brothers anyway, right?

Nice to hear that. I still show up at the house about once a semester.

As many of You know, I was only an Active for 1 school Year.

While down this Weekend at The Pitt for a meeting, see Other Thread, some of The Alums broke out in song!:)

I also enjoyed seeing some of the Brothers from Drury and Kansas State Join in.:cool: So, the ole dawg is always amazed by My Younger Brothers!:)

I was over at UNC Greensboro and everybody chants 09' to the top of our lungs...lets keep this thread going...chapters have some good chants...and also songs that chapters sing besides Magic Carpet Ride because thats a given.....We have a couple like Friends in low places by Garth Brooks...and When the sun goes down by Kenny Chesney and Uncle Kracker

I meant to mention MY party is Colt 45 by Afroman....gets me and a couple of brothers up and rowdy

New chant
 

We created a new chant earlier in our I-week. It alternates btn the leader of the chant and the rest of us:

Leader: How do you spell fraternity?
All: L-X-A!
L: I'll stand by you; you'll stand by me
A: all the way!
L: We pledge our faith through Delta Pi!
A: We stand in Zeta Alpha Chi!
L: You ask me and I'll tell you why!

Repeat these next lines (ad infinitum) to get the blood pumping:

L: Lambda!
A: Chi!

For Greek Week, we used this:

Cross and Crescent Spirits High
We're the Men of Lambda Chi
Purple Green and Gold are We
Number One Fraternity.

When I saw Lambda, you say Chi
Lambda (Chi)

Lambda Chi is Number One!

Tom had mentioned earlier that we were known as a singing fraternity and that seems to lost. My associate class learned the words to a song and we went to several sorority houses and sung it to them in front of their house. Also we went to an all girls dorm and sang it out there. The ladies loved it and one of my buddies had gotten stopped by a girl at school and asked if he was outside singing at their dorm. She had complimented him about it. That was a fun night.
