chicken bone calling the kettle black!
Did anybody else see the press conference in Africa involving Tony Blair and George Bush? Did you hear Bush's response to Blair's suggestion that the United States provide financial assistance to Africa? I wish I had a link to it! BUSH had the nerve to say he will not give money to corrupt govts in Africa! What a joke! Like our govt is as clean as a baby's behind! How about "The War on Drugs", and the vietnam war, and the end of ww2 and a bunch of other stuff. WTF.

Good Suggestion!

All too often people talk about how bad this is, and how bad that is. It was good to see your suggestion. It gave many of the people who do care about Africa a way to help a specific part of The Motherland. Thanks. |

I'd work on the Clinton-Obama campaign. (Obama was the first black editor of the Harvard Law review. I have a special reverence for him.) |
Democrats will be a long time waiting for the White House again if they don't find a way to put at least parts of the South back in play. They cannot continue to cede a 70-75 electoral college vote "head start" to the Republicans and expect to win. They need to develop/cultivate moderates state politicians from some of the at least upper southern-tiered states (Tenn., W. Va., KY).
Meanwhile, if some reports are to be believed, Republicans are making in-roads in California (but I'll let Steeltrap, our intrepid West Coast reporter holla about that. :p ) Like it or not, the nation is center/right in its national electoral politics. |

As for the GOP in the WC, Governor Ahnuld of Kollyfornia has some issues. But he's charging along with a proposal for a special election because he can't get his "reforms" through the Legislature. But the groups that Ahnuld's attacked are fighting back, big time. He had to back off some of his proposals for a while. Schatzi (sic) had this moderate image, but he's being pushed, I think, by some of the hard right. |
