chicken bone calling the kettle black!

Did anybody else see the press conference in Africa involving Tony Blair and George Bush? Did you hear Bush's response to Blair's suggestion that the United States provide financial assistance to Africa? I wish I had a link to it! BUSH had the nerve to say he will not give money to corrupt govts in Africa! What a joke! Like our govt is as clean as a baby's behind! How about "The War on Drugs", and the vietnam war, and the end of ww2 and a bunch of other stuff. WTF.

And you'll be working for a losing effort. We have to find a winable candidate--Hilary is not it.

yeah...yeah...yeah...I have heard that before but until someone else steps up to the plate it is all i can do and if I can get Obama in there close and working without endangering his life I am all in...I think Hilary would be a good choice because if she actually wins the "crazys" would be less likely to gun down a woman....

If any of you care about your "Motherland", then you may want to visit savedarfur.com and help out.

Hey man,

All too often people talk about how bad this is, and how bad that is. It was good to see your suggestion. It gave many of the people who do care about Africa a way to help a specific part of The Motherland. Thanks.

I have to agree with LG. Hillary will just bring out the deep Clinton hating folks that have not gone away. I am a registered independent, BTW.

Lady of Pearl 06-16-2005 03:59 PM

Yes the dems must come with a new strategy or we will continue to get what we got which is not much!

At the same time though, many of the "Clinton haters" just hated Bill and actually pitied (for lack of a better word) Hillary. I think many of those types (mostly feminist groups) would jump on the Hillary bandwagon to put her into office.

I'd work on the Clinton-Obama campaign. (Obama was the first black editor of the Harvard Law review. I have a special reverence for him.)

Democrats will be a long time waiting for the White House again if they don't find a way to put at least parts of the South back in play. They cannot continue to cede a 70-75 electoral college vote "head start" to the Republicans and expect to win. They need to develop/cultivate moderates state politicians from some of the at least upper southern-tiered states (Tenn., W. Va., KY).

Meanwhile, if some reports are to be believed, Republicans are making in-roads in California (but I'll let Steeltrap, our intrepid West Coast reporter holla about that. :p )

Like it or not, the nation is center/right in its national electoral politics.

I agree that the country is center/right and has been going there for a long time. As I've said for years, white guilt is o-v-e-r.

As for the GOP in the WC, Governor Ahnuld of Kollyfornia has some issues. But he's charging along with a proposal for a special election because he can't get his "reforms" through the Legislature.
But the groups that Ahnuld's attacked are fighting back, big time. He had to back off some of his proposals for a while. Schatzi (sic) had this moderate image, but he's being pushed, I think, by some of the hard right.
