Lts Gc Meet Up :)
 

We should arrange a time for all the GCers to meet up at LTS!! And find a way for us to recognize eachother... any ideas?

It is a fabulous idea to meet up with all the GC Phi Sigs. I've already met Beth, so I have an advantage there. Beth is kinda like opposite of me, (she's tall and Blonde, I'm short and dark) so if you see two people who are kinda like opposites, that's me and Beth. I'm sooo excited to meet you all !!!!! Anyone know if Corey is going ?

Has anyone been to the hotel......I looked on-line on the virtual tour and it looks like their is an aquerium in the lobby.....If anyone has been their or looks at the hotel site we could pick a place like that...and a time convienent for y'all

i've ben there twice but can't say i really remember an aquarium. there was the lounge there though wasn't there? I know lots off ppl had meetings in the chairs.

My eyes could be playing tricks on me.... But the hotel looks really nice

Because silly, the West Coast and ISB people are the only ones who arrive early. ;) Everyone else doesn't have to be there until 2:30pm on Thursday.

We could set up a sign by the check-in tables on Thursday or after dinner on Thursday when they have the after dinner activity scheduled. Or if people think they will be tired from traveling we could try to meet up Friday morning for the Foundation Walk. Thoughts?

Welcome to GC! We'll look for you at LTS.
If you are flying into Newark then it will be about a 45 min train ride to New Brunswick (and then about 4-5 blocks to the hotel, so be prepared)

Has anyone gotten their second info packet yet ? Just curious cause it's like next weekend, and I have no clue about where the train station is, and if there's anything else I need to do before leaving. :)

i haven't gotten mine - but I'm in Canada so I wonder if I will at all.

I was worried about the info packet thing too (I haven't received anything in the mail yet), so I called Lisa Wallace (she's the membership mgr for regions 5-8) at PhiSig HQ. She told me that the packets were dropped in the mail on Saturday, July 16th and should arrive within a week.

She also mentioned, in the case that it doesn't arrive, that there will be extras at the hotel.

I just got it in the mail yesterday... So everyone should be getting theirs very soon - check your mailbox!! :D

The train to the hotel leaves from the airport. There are a ton of signs to help you and depending on when you come in there may be someone w/ a Phi Sig sign to direct you. Were you able to switch your flight? Even if there is not a sign the station is fairly easy to find, you just need to get a ticket to New Brunswick station from one of the machines and it's about a 45 min trip. Once you get to the NB station it's a short walk to the hotel and if you need to you can give Beth a call (good lookin out Beth, way to volunteer to help a sister :D )

The only thing you really need to do before leaving is to make sure you have emailed HQ to let them know your itinerary. Besides that you just need your raffle gift, philanthropy item(s), an appropriate white outfit, and of course your badge.

Edited to add: The packet is mostly the information sent out in the previous packet. The only new info is more detail regarding proper attire for the different events and the Plenary information guide which includes parli pro notes, the seating chart, and information on the Foundation vote.

i think the last packet said they highly recommend white shoes, correct?

I really can't afford to buy new shoes, not even $15 for cheapies at Walmart, but if I'm the only one not wearing white I might let Mr. Mastercard pick it up.

Yes white shoes are preferred. There are always some people who wear other colors (my favorite from last year were the hot pink heels), but most people wear white. They don't have to be anything fancy and even trim in another color is okay.
