Chores You Hate!!
 

Greetings All!!

As I was contemplating on why I should hire a maid (even though I am out for the summer as of 6/15)I thought about what are chores that you despise? I don't mind cleaning, but I despise

1 .Sweeping
2 .Cleaning toilets
3. Cleanng pans that have anything stuck in them :mad:

BTW does anyone have a maid/cleaning service what are your experiences and cost?

I hate folding cothes! I will just as soon leave them in the dryer or in the basket FOREVER before I fold them.

it has to the be the bathroom and folding clothes.


i swear i love the dry cleaners.

I love a clean sparkling bathroom, but I hate cleaning it :mad: :mad:

I hate taking the dishes out of the dishwasher. I don't mind putting them in, but for some reason I can't stand to have to take them back out.

I also hate to take the dishes out of the dishwasher. I don't know what it is about it. I will be on a roll and then there is always a bowl or cup or something that has water in it. I hate that...I know it's wierd but hey thats me.:D

Although you didn't ask, I honestly don't mind cleaning the bathroom. I actually don't mind ironing. Put me in front of the TV and I'll iron all day. Same with folding clothes. I'll fold them, but I do not like putting them away.

And I do not like washing dishes at all! :mad: Ain't too thrilled about dusting either, or mopping the floors.

I hate all things housework related, but I love a clean house! Ahhh to live in a hotel was my dream as a child (always have maid service)

Regarding cleaning service experiences, I started a thread a while back, I'll see if I can bump it for you.

I HATE housework, especially folding clothes and washing dishes.

I have someone come to clean the kitchen, dining room, living room, and 1 bathroom. She comes twice a month and it costs $60. I LOVE IT!!! She cleans thing that I never thought to clean. ROFL.

I don't mind doing chores. I just put on some music, open the windows, and have a good time. But, I absolutely HATE washing the dishes. I don't know why, I just don't like it. I only have to wash them when I'm at home. At school, everything is disposable! ;)

I really don't mind cleaning. I love a clean house but there are a few chores I don't enjoy.

1. washing dishes
2. poop a scooping the yard (I have two big dogs so it has to be done frequently. I refuse to have a messy stank yard!)
3. dusting (due to my allergies)

2Tuff2Quit: You are not weird. You aren't the only one. I concur with your list but I want to add a few things.

Here is my list:

1. Cleaning out the refrigerator (I really don't want to see what's living in there after a few weeks)
2. Dusting (I have horrible allergies and sinuses)
3. Cleaning the toilet (yuck but it looks pretty and pristine when it white and clean!!!)

All of them.

The only chore I can really say I hate is

Washing the dishes!!

You would think that I hate folding clothes because I practically live out of the clothes basket. I don't hate it, I just never have the time.

I hate to clean the bathroom, I almost gag everytime I have to clean out the toilet!!!!:( YUCK!

The three chores I hate most are:

1. Putting away clothes (I like anything but doing that)
2. Cleaning out the frige
3. Cleaning out the oven (once me and Doc get murr'd, self cleaning oven has to be at the top of the list)

I Loathe doing chores. When I don't feel like it, I hire my uncle to come over and do it. After working 8 long hours in the day, going to class, dealing with the chillen. I don't feel good. He does a SPECTACULAR job.

I haaate folding clothes.
Dont mind ironing them, dont mind putting them away, but HAAATE folding them.

I hate cleaning my bathroom too.

Before I was married--After I was married:
 

I use to be laaaayyyyyzzzzzziiieeeee as all get up in doing my chores--before marriage...

Caused HUGE arguments between my husband and I when we first started living together after we were married.

Then he got me into a routine of doing certain chores: i.e. I vacuum the upstairs and he vacuums the downstairs every weekend--because if I don't do my part he hacks all over the place due to his allergies... And I HAYTE--I MEAN DESPISE HIS SNORTING!!! I know he cain't hep it, but DAYUM, just to minimize the noise is well worth the effort...

As far as washing dishes, it kinna an unwritten rule, who ever cooks, doesn't clean. Besides, when he's really pooped out from work, I give him a break and wash the dishes. 1) He has a "dance routine sacred ritual" that MUST be followed before he washes the dishes that takes too dayum long and 2) I don't want him in the kitchen all night washing dishes. But whoever washed the dishes and put them in the dishwasher to dry, the other person has to take them out and put them up... Also he has this uberclean eating off the floor fetish for the kitchen... So, since I can never get it sterilized to his level, he gets fed up with me and just cleans the kitchen to his satisfaction... But I am getting better...

And I always do the dusting upstairs...

I have to uberclean the bathroom I use because my skin will breakout in a heartbeat if I don't. So, I clean the shower area with noxious chemicals... And if I have to, I will do a quick Scrubbing Bubbles wipe for the toilet 1-2 per week.

And since I have skin issues as a result of allergies to perfumes from detergents, I have to nuke my white clothes with radioactive bleach and oxyclean... Then double soak and rinse them with 5000 F water temperature :rolleyes:... So I wash my whites... Then I have to confirm dryness with 2 hours in our dryer...

And since my husband is pissy about his shirts and slacks being wrinkled after I wash them, I don't wash or dry them anymore. I leave that to him. I told him he does a better job than I do... Or I'll say, show me that again, I forgot... ;) :p

I must say that I HATE all chores!!!!

I love a clean house, but hate the effort that I have to make to keep the house clean.

I have 2 children, so it is sooo hard keeping the house clean. To deal with that issue I have relegated them to 3 rooms in the house, their rooms or the office. That way the living room stays clean.

My son is old enough now to clean the kitchen, his room and bathroom. My husband keeps the office tidy and I clean the rest.

With me changing schools I don't have as much free time as I used to, so I had to come up with a cleaning schedule.

ditto. It is so real for me (my apartment does not have a dishwasher) that I eat on paper plates. I will spend $5.00 to not have to wash anything other than cooking dishes.

:rolleyes: /Cleaning the bathroom, and grocery shopping and laundry. I don't mind washing dishes and vacuuming

Cleaning blinds, washing walls/floorboards and dusting.

I absolutely HATE the following chores.........
1) Cleaning the "Fridge" Yuck Yuck Gross
2) Cleaning/Dusting Ceiling Fans....Hate it

Dishes, I hate them with a deep passion
Sweeping and mopping the floor
Vacuuming


I'll clean the bathroom before I do dishes.

The only household chore I can truly say I HATE is washing dishes.

I can even remember hating this chore as a teenager. Whenever it was my week to do the dishes I would just put it off and always get in trouble. I remember one night my mother made me get up at 3am to do the dishes because I had not done them. I literally feel asleep with my hands in the dish water. After that she just gave up. I still refuse to wash dishes. I will do everything else but dishes, thats my hubby's job!!!:) Paper plates are my best friend and I'm not afraid to say it.

That use to happen to me with sweeping the floor, I would clean the whole kitchen and not sweep and about 3 am here comes Moms. :rolleyes:

Wow, I can't believe so many of y'all hate washing dishes. That's about the only household chore that I don't mind, lol.

OMG that happened to me except it was my younger sister who was supposed to have washed them earlier in the day. I was so tired putting those dishes up.

My mom did that to me too!! Only in my case it was my sister's turn to wash and she didn't do a good job and mom took EVERY dish, glass, piece of silverware out and made BOTH of us wash it ALL at 2 in the morning. Needless to say, I made life miserable for my sister for about 3 days. :mad:

Speaking of dishes, I hate putting away the dishes once they are done in the dishwasher!! Usually it's because Hubby will run the dishwasher while I'm at work and that means when I come home tired and hungry I have to stop and put dishes away before I can fix myself something to eat.

I hate cleaning the bathroom especially the toliet!!!

So glad to see I wasn't the only one up at 3am. I'll probably end up doing the same thing to my kids. You know they say you get all that stuff back from your own children.
