Internet scavenger hunt
I pulled this idea from another forum. It's a scavenger hunt where we post pictures of items that are requested. It can be anything-a person, place, thing, logo-whatever!!
OK, I'll start! I want a picture of a Chatty Cathy doll, my childhood favorite, from around 1958-1962. |

Did you know that Maureen McCormick (Marcia Brady) provided the voice for her? I found that out during my search! Okay, while we're on dolls, let's see one of the original Barbie dolls, with the ponytail & striped swimsuit! |

They're uglier than I remember!

-Find the photo you want. -RIGHT click on the photo, and a menu should pop up. -Click on Properties. -Scroll down to where it says "Address". It should end in .jpg or .bmp -Copy it by hitting both Ctrl & c at the same time. -Go to where you want to post the picture. -Type in . -You can check to make sure you have it by Previewing prior to posting, but it should work! |
Cluttered, but it should suffice:

Direct linking, or "hotlinking" like Honey described is not savvy internet protocol. If you post pictures using that technique, you are technically stealing bandwidth from whichever site you find your picture on. Please do not do that! Here is a tutorial for the longer, but more politically correct picture posting internet protocol. -First, sign up for an image hosting website such as Photobucket, Webshots, etc. (Do a Google search for "image hosting".) Most of these sites are free. -Find the picture on the web that you want to put elsewhere on the web. -Right click on the picture to "Save image as..." -Save it to a file on your computer. Make sure you remember where it is! I save my pics to a sub folder of "internet pics" under "My Pictures." -Go to your new image hosting website. -Upload the picture to your user album. (I only know how Photobucket works. Once you log in, there is an upload area right at the top of the page. You search for the picture on your computer. Remember where you put it? Then click upload and it does the work for you. I assume other sites are similar.) -Once the image is uploaded, it should have a unique web address associated with it. This is where you can go back to Honey's tutorial. Although, with Photobucket, both the unique address and a [ img ]webaddress[ /img] tag line are right under the picture, so you can just highlight it and copy it. -Go to the chat board, blog, e-bay auction site, etc where you wanted to put your picture. -Plug it in! You should be good to go! Thank you very much in advance for being classy ADPi ladies and adhering to internet protocol. :) Now play on.... |

Hey my picture wouldnt show up.
I will try again later or I will pass to the next person. That was funny . . . I was thinking who is that and why would someone want a picture of him . . . . now I see. So, the next person has to have Marc Blucas and a tsunami. |
