Update on your body/working out thread part deux

Ok, people, tell Cashmoney how the bodies are coming! ;) Summer is right around the corner and next thing you know it's the beach, the beach, the beach. :)

Here is my current situation:

Right now I'm weighing in at 227lbs, Ive stepped up my gym program to cater to my timeline/goal date set.

This is how my current program works:

Day1: Chest, Triceps and Shoulders. For my chest I do 7 different exercises & 5 sets for each exercise. For my Triceps and Shoulders, I do 5 different exercise for each muscle and 5 sets.

Day2: All lower body (legs & ass), my back and my biceps. For my legs I do 7 different exercises with 4 sets for each exercise. For my back I do 7 different exercises and 5 sets for each exercise. For my biceps I usually do 5 different exercises going as heavy as I can all the time while doing 5 sets.

And thats it, folks. I repeat the process day in and day out. I also do about 20 minutes of cardio on the treadmill everyday but nothing like what I used to do. I'm also eating like a horse, about 225grams of protein a day  (it's killing my stomach on the inside-I feel like I use the bathroom all the fucking time) but the good thing is that within the past 2 weeks Ive gained 9lbs and have retained it.

my workout:

lifting the remote :D

j/k. My metabolism is high right now thanks to the gene of my Mom's side, so I don't work out alot. I am 5'2, 113 pounds. I could use some toning though....I'll work out in Tampa to take my mind off some things.

Man, you're a little chunky monkey. My girl is 5'1 and weighs in at 88lbs.

UlChiOCutie26 05-27-2005 10:30 AM

Then she is anorexic. I have some muscle too, buddy. Muscle weighs more than fat! My BMI is 19.0, so I am normal. Your GF's is 18.0, so therefore she is underweight. Not good!

Believe me, I am farrrrrr from chunky! :D

Hey, there's nothing wrong with being anorexic kind of and having each boob weigh in at 5lbs a piece. :D

UlChiOCutie26 05-27-2005 10:59 AM

Look, you need to watch it. My sister is anorexic.

And that's no joke. Unless you have implants, most women that are anorexic have no boobs at all.

BobbyTheDon 05-27-2005 11:06 AM

I am at 12 percent body fat right now. I'm looking to get at around just a tad under 8 percent within the next few months.

Oh man...you eat 225 grams of protein? Holey moley. I thought I was doing good at 90.

All i eat are protein and fruit. And the fruiting makes me fart alot, but atleast it smells like oranges.

UloChioQto...you're sister is depressed and anorexic? oh man. What are you then? Pyscho tell my life story, i have a boyfriend that i should have broken up with so i will tell GC in D&R ?

heheeh c'mon ya comedian...you know I am j to the k-ing with you.

btw, i think its cool that you are related to Johnny Depp, he is my favorite actor. And i am really sorry about your sister. No seriously, I am.

Ok, back to my day job...being a bunghole

Eat mainly meat/high protein foods and take 3 protein shakes a day with at least 55grams of protein in each shake......and it's not that hard. LOL.....i don't have the farting problem, but I do shit a lot.

-Not a goddamn thing. :p

UlChiOCutie26 05-27-2005 11:12 AM

I know you have a soft spot for me, Bobby....;)

CUGreekgirl 05-27-2005 11:59 AM

I'm about 5 ft and 112lbs.

(yes, Cash, I realize that is a little flabby for my height, but seriously 88 lbs is freaking anorexic and not attractive at all IMO)
I have no problem attracting nice looking men.

My ultimate goal is btwn 95 and 100. I think 99 is considered underweight for my height and 89 is anorexic.

Right now I'm just running a couple miles a day w/ my dogs and watching what I eat. When I start back to class in late June I have 2 hrs btwn my class and work, so I plan on going to the gym and doing the elliptical trainer and lifting a few weights to tone up a bit.

cashmoney 05-27-2005 12:39 PM

CU-

Yea, but don't you attract crazy men? Everytime I turn around you have some sort of problem with a boyfriend.

CUGreekgirl 05-27-2005 12:56 PM

I think I attract a fair share of both crazy and sane men. Problem is, I seem to be more attracted to the crazy ones.

Thats always the case with EVERYONE! ;)

-myself included.

CUGreekgirl 05-27-2005 12:59 PM

The crazy ones make life more fun. I wouldn't have anything to talk about if I only dated the sane boys.

tri-d 05-27-2005 01:05 PM

Well my workouts don't really change just because swimsuit season is upon us. I pretty much workout the same year-round except maybe when I am training for a marathon or triathlon. I run every morning generally between 2-5 miles and then lift 5 days/week and 60min cardio on days I lift as well. For my cardio, I either bike, swim or use the elliptical machine. I am still a little behind where I would like to be since I had to take a break while I was pregnant, but as soon as the doctor gave me the okay, I was back to my normal routine--amazing how much strength you can lose after not lifting for 6 months!

tri-d 05-27-2005 02:05 PM

Well if you are looking to do triathlons seriously, then I would recommend a road bike rather than a mtn bike, but if you just want to do a few triathlons for fun, then you would be okay w/a mtn bike--plus you would probably get more social use out of a mtn bike. As for men's body fat %, I could only guess that it would be somewhere around 4% or less for your elite athlete. And you should just give a triathlon a shot--they are a lot less intimidating than you would think--you could always start out with a sprint triathlon--they generally have really short swims and the run is usually only a 5 or 10k. Some day I would like to do an ironman length, but that will most likely be many years from now...I want to qualify for Boston first.

YAY FOR TRIATHELETES!!!
ya know, I wanted to start a Tri Delta Tri Athalon for our philantrophy event in college but no one else was for it. I'm training for half marathon now, but next year I want to do the Liberty to Liberty Triathalon from NYC to Philly. Thats my goal. Right now I've just done a few small town triathalons, but I really enjoyed them.

tri-d 05-27-2005 08:46 PM

The tri delts at Tenn Knoxville have a Tri-delta-thon triathlon--it is held in April I believe--I thin that I am going to try to do it next year as it isn't too far a drive from NC

PhoenixAzul 05-30-2005 01:45 PM

<---Triathlete as well. I bought my road bike on sale last year, got a real deal on it because it was the end of the model year. I have my eyes on 3 different tris this summer, smaller ones because I'm still working into it. I just moved up an age category so...

I'm running a 5k almost every day, try to bike at least 20 a day, but the swimming is my problem. I'm a competitive swimmer/lifeguard, but there's no pool here! SO i have to wait till I go home in summer to swim, and then i really have to step it up in the pool, put in a crazy amount of meters.

I'm participating in the MS 150 in 2 weeks and I'm super excited. It's a 150 mile bike ride to from Cranberry PA to Conneaut OH to raise money for MS research. It's 80 miles the first day (100 if you do the century option) and 70 the next day with an overnight at Allegheny college. If anyone wants to help sponsor me, PM me and I'll be eternally indebted to you.

Wine&SilverBlue 05-30-2005 04:24 PM

I'm 5'4" and about 118-119. I'm just trying to tone up a bit - but I never really work out regularly so it's a little hard.

I did run on the treadmill for 30 min this afternoon and I try to lift free weights for a little before bed each night.

Any tips for someone who is pretty apathetic about working out, doesn't have (or want) a gym membership but has access to a treadmill, exercise bike and free weights at home, and who isn't really looking to lose weight (I'd rather just gain more muscle mass and stay the same weight or lose 3-4 lbs MAX) but wants to get toned?

I just took a class on "biopsychosocial aspects of eating disorders & obesity" and i know people are more likely to stick to small lifestyle changes (walking more, small activities) as opposed to drastic changes (cutting out carbs completely, going to the gym 5x a week) etc but I'd like some advice.

**note: i have a modified diet since I have Crohn's - so I eat lots of carbs (and things easy to digest) and can't really eat high fiber foods, lettuce (salads), nuts, etc.

BobbyTheDon 05-30-2005 07:26 PM

i haven't done serious cardio in about 2 weeks. I consume more food now than I did before. Yet I lost 2 pounds and my lean muscle mass has even increased. How so? I barf after every meal.

Ok jk.Metabolism and waterweight. I am still pretty active since I lift weights and I eat more, but as everyone says...eat less food, but more frequently. I am constantly eating but I don't eat till my belly is about to fall over. I just eat to survive and to get going.

I'm not complaining or anything, just thought I'd spread some awareness... yay!

Well damn, I feel a whole lot smarter now.

What you said is all true except for the last part - you can't be anorexic and of normal weight. Part of the diagnostic criteria for anorexia means weighing 85% or less of the "normal" body weight (basically a BMI of 18.5 or less). If you meet the other criteria for anorexia but not the weight criteria (and amenorrhea, which is another criteria which would probably not be met if one was of normal weight) you would qualify for EDNOS (Eating Disorder-Not Otherwise Specified). :)

AOPIHottie 05-31-2005 12:46 PM

I bought one of those exercise balls that you do crunches on....I swear I love that thing. I can do 100 crunches so much easier. It doesnt hurt my back at all, and you can really feel it in your upper ab area. I also do push ups and squats with it. I start with a Pilates video then move on to abs, push ups, squats and light weight lifting. I also walk alot, since my job is a restaurant manager and I am constantly walking through the restaurant. I know its not a 'real' work out, but it helps. Especially on a busy night when I am practiacally sprinting through the place! I have also cut down on sodas, drink more water, and eat a WHOLE lot better.

UKDaisy 05-31-2005 05:00 PM

Wow..... I read this and suddenly feel really fat.

But....I've been doing about 200 crunches/lower ab work about 4-6 days a week to get my abs back in good form.

Plus cardio and what not.....but my abs are what i'm focusing on now.

AOIIsilver 05-31-2005 05:41 PM

I work out at Curves 5-6 times a week, and I walk. I am on a 80% raw vegetable/fruit diet that minimizes any kind of processed food.
I have lost between 13-15 lbs since August.
I am quite proud of this effort. It has been a challenge.
