Delta Tau Delta largest colony initiation in its history...
From www.delts.org
"Delta Tau Delta celebrated its largest single-day initiation April 16 when the Delta Kappa Chapter was installed at Duke University. Eighty-two men were initiated to officially return the Fraternity to the Durham campus after almost an 11-year absence. Nearly 300 family, friends, alumni and school administrators attended a banquet Friday which was highlighted by a keynote address from Brother Rick Wagoner. Wagoner, the CEO of General Motors was also one of two fathers who had sons among the new initiates. The brothers of Delta Kappa Chapter will likely have a chance to perform the initiation rite soon. Eight men who were part of the colonization effort were taking the MCAT exam and were unable to attend the initiation ceremony. Once they are officially brought into the Fraternity, the chapter will be at 90 men with only one scheduled to graduate this spring. Duke University has 6,522 undergraduate students and only accepts about 10 percent of the students who apply for entrance each year." The website also has news of the initiation of the (re) colony at UCLA. |
Congratulations to the men of Delta. That's a huge pledge class, hope that the chapter continues to do well.

Congratulations! When I was at Duke I remember so many people talking about how much they wished the Delts would come back.

Good luck to them and to the new 20-man LXA bunch at NC A&T (A&M?).
The 80 - 90 man group has a great chance at success on a tough campus. I worry about my GLO's 20-man chapters, and LXA's too. |
Congrats to the Delts!
|
Wow - congratulations! Are there any photos, by any chance?
|
Congratulations to the Delts! That's great to hear.

Haven't seen any pics from Duke, but how about the 53 new initiates in the re-colonized chapter at UCLA which was also initiated recently. |
Congrats to the rechartered DTD UCLA chapter!
I think they are getting there house back soon and it is GORGEOUS; it also happens to have one of the best locations on fraternity row too! |
Kudos to Delta Tau Delta and those two 'somewhat decent' basketball schools: UCLA & Duke. ;)
|
hell yeah man congratulations
|
Congratulations to *all* the brothers of Delta Tau Delta! Even if it's kind of scary that y'all seem to be taking over the world ;)
|
Congrats to the new Delts! I would love to see photos too! :)

http://www.ucladelts.com/ I checked our webpage, the Duke University page, etc. and the Duke chapter doesn't seem to have a website. Sorry. |

ANYWAY... Congrats to the Delta Tau Deltas at Duke! I am glad to see the Greek community at Duke growing! |
This is not a comment on either of our new chapters -- nor those of any other fraternity whether large colonies or small. I hope and expect that the 90 men of our chapter at Duke are excellent people and will be strong members.
That being said, I would rather have a small chapter of exemplary men than a large chapter of averge or below average ones. In the long run, the latter will be likely to survive and prosper. The other, I think, is more likely to falter. |
