alias season 5 speculation....
OMG is what I have to say so far.....
So he's not Michael Vaughn, then WHO THE HELL IS HE!!!!!!! |
Borrowing a line from valkyrie (with modifications):
OMGWTH?!?!?!?!?! First of all, my jaw dropped with the confession, and then with the car coming immediately after that, I gasped, clapped a hand to my mouth, and sat there in shock for at least a minute before I could get moving again. I have to say, that was one heck of a finale, and now I'm going to be chomping at the bit for next season's premiere (I've heard some interesting theories....)     |
AAARRRRRGGGGHHHHHH is what I have to say. My heart cannot take these Alias cliffhangers!
Was he CIA when she met him that first day? Or did he intercept her for the baddies??? Unbelievable! |
Warning--this post is filled with questions!
I swear, I did not see that line coming. What does Spy Mommy know about "Vaughn"?
He had to be CIA in some capacity, right? If not, how was he working in the CIA offices? Oh...my...word...what's Jack going to do when he finds out that "Vaughn" isn't who he thought he was? THAT will be sweet. polarpi, what theories are out there? |
Do you think "Spy Mommy" will be popping in and out a few times...to help Syd and Nadia?
But what about Benifer's...I mean Jennifer's pregnany? They have to work that somehow into the script. Although, part of thinks she might be written out for a bit. It's happend in a show before. It happened to Gillian Anderson when became pregnant while starring in The X-Files. Also, they better not leave me hanging, because I have to know what "Vaughn" (I guess we should be using quotation marks now) was going to tell her. |
So when does the new season start? DO I have to wait until friggin JANUARY again? That's not gonna work. Somebody PLEASE recap the finale, I only saw the last 10 minutes or so, when that big ole whatever it was blew up.

So now...the speculations will fly...I can't believe we're going to have to wait through the summer before we know what happens!!! Is anybody on this show really as they seem????? |
Okay, I'll bite:
Faux!Vaughn is Russian (kinda like Sarky-poo and Spy!Mommy). His mother and father were KGB agents who went rogue and abandoned the KGB. Spy!Mommy helped them escape and in exchange for helping her with her plans for world domination, she somehow got them new identities, brought them to the States and set them up at the CIA (with Spy!Daddy). Because Spy!Mommy has been a follower of Rambaldi, she knew about the prophecy and knew her daughter would need protection. But she also knew that parts of the Prophecy would have to be played out, otherwise Faux!Vaughn and Syd would never have met. Thus because the Faux!Vaughn family had a small child, she engineered the whole thing. Faux!Vaughn went through a similar training program that Syd went through when she was a child. Something happened and Faux!Vaughn's dad betrayed Spy!Mommy, and she had him killed. Faux!Vaughn then had a mission: to find the person who killed his father. It just so happened that his path crossed with Spy!Mommy about two years before Syd joined SD-6, and during his meetings with Spy!Mommy, she told him about the Prophecy and his role in it. So when Syd came into the CIA to spill the beans on SD-6, the fact that she met Faux!Vaughn was no coincidence: it was Spy!Mommy's doing all along. That explains why she wasn't mad that Faux!Vaughn has been deceiving Syd all this time, because it was all her doing anyhow. How's that? |
Sistermadly....
I LOVE IT!!!! You need to be a writer for Alias!!! It's almost believable!!! |
bow down to sistermadly!!!!!
here here, sounds extremely plausible and knowing JJ it probably is something like that. |
That's good Sistermadly!
My mum and I were talking (I recorded the last 2 episodes for her so we just finished watching them now) and she thinks that Sloane is "Vaughn's" father. It's a possibility. We all know that he's evil (although now possibly gone completely over to the good side) and I'm sure that he was also a bit of a player back in the day...I mean he did fool around with Irena...who else could he have fooled around with? |
Nice theory Sister madly!
One thing-- Spy Mommy said something like "your activities are not as covert as you think..." Implying he is STILL at them. And when Syd said " I can handle anything as long as you're not a bad guy" And Vaughn or whomever he is said "Well that depends on who you ask" And then POW Am CONVINCED that was NOT an accident, that whomever plowed into them was specifically gunning for Vaughn given whatever his nefarious activities are. |
speaking of sloane and whatnot, did anyone else notice that in last weeks two hour eppy that Irina was talking to Nadia and she told Nadia about how she got something from her dad and then Irina looked at Jack and the camera cut to Jack?
So now I'm thinking, since it would be totally JJ to screw us around like this :), that Jack is actually Nadia's father. But then I got to thinking about the whole hourglass that only her father could see, my thing is what if that really didn't matter and they (Sloane, Syd and Jack) thought it did. Plus, since Jack was there in the first place, it worked. I'm at a loss on who Vaughn really is. Obviously though spymommy knows something about it. |
I agree with Lady Pi Phi. I think Sloane may actually be Vaughn's dad. I have thought it since they brought up the topic of dad this season.
WHY? According to spoilerfix.com: (highlight to read) Spoilerfix.com says that Nadia and Vaughn have a connection. Now, consider this: if you are Syd, what would be the worst thing you could find out about your lover? They're a spy? Nope. You are close to someone who lies about who they are? Nope. They are the offspring of your worst enemy? Ding, ding, ding. It would be one of the most twisted things ever. |

Your Alias watching party has thought of that being the case too. It would be freaky.

Season 5 spoiler: highlight to read.
According to Spoilerfix.com, Michael Vartan WILL be back in season 5. Also, they say the story they are telling is going to be absolutely amazing! |
I just think that Vaughan somehow is being watched all the time, I mean the car hit was just to coincidental, well first my name isn’t Vaughan…..*CRASH*.
Vaughan is bugged and who ever “big brother” is had an agreement with Vaughan, ‘you don’t tell we won’t come after you, after all we have ways’ I really wasn’t disappointed with this season, but this little twist is very intriguing and I’m on the verge of saying ‘my alias is back’ |
Alias - Season 5 News
Garner's pregnancy will be written into the show.
http://tv.yahoo.com/news/ap/20050726/112242900000.html |
Thank god!!!!
I literally was just saying to my grandmother not an hour ago how stupid it would be if they didn't write the pregnancy in. It would be so easy to do (especially when the writers have no qualms about "fast forwarding" time). The way I think they could do it is have her and Vaughn at the hospital and since they would do a complete blood work up the doctors would figure out she is pregnant then the next episode would be 5-7 months later (since these episodes are being filmed now and the baby is due in November/December). Then you could have Sydney give birth during November sweeps, which is around the same time Jennifer has the baby. I'm just so smart. I should be a writer :D |
Okay I just popped in Season Three and I am watching the first eppy.
I'm at the part where she is visiting her dad in prison and she just told him Vaughn was married. Now back when I saw this episode the line Jack said didn't ring an alert but now that we know that Vaughn isn't Vaughn it makes me wonder. Jack tells Sydney the Vaughn is "just a boy who was never good enough for you". It got me thinking, what if Jack knew something about Vaughn. I'm sure most dads think that their daughter will never find anyone good enough for them but it seems that Vaughn and Jack really didn't interact a lot in seasons 1 & 2. Especially when she and him didn't even start 'dating' until the end of season 2 in the first place. So why is Vaughn a "boy who was never good enough"? What does Jack know about him that doesn't make him 'good enough'? Just a thought... Any speculation on how the pregnancy will be written in? |
|
Boo I'm all ready depressed knowing that this might be the show's final season. That bites.
I was lucky last year none of my faves went off the air (in May) but 2004 was Angel and 2003 was Buffy. I really don't want 2006 to be Alias (and quite possibly Charmed). |
If you REALLY, REALLY, REALLY can't wait for spoilers, highlight my text below. But, I am WARNING you that it is major.
[Vaughn is being killed off! Spoilerfix.com says that they believe sources who are saying that he will die in the season premiere! And, they are leaving Sydney to find out who killed him the rest of the season. ] |
Leaving a huge amount of spoiler space on this one.
la la la la la la If you don't wanna read turn back now. la la la Okay Vaughn. Yeah I read that in a US magazine today except get this, according to US JENNIFER wanted him gone because of the TENSION between Ben and him. HELLO you shouldn't have dated a costar!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But then on the other hand in either the newest People or InTouch there are pictures of a very pregnant Jennifer and Michael doing a scene for the show. Now, we know that the pregnancy was written in but I can't see the producers suddenly making her 6-7 months pregnant (however far along she is) when the show starts in September. Especially when last season left off with a car accident and her NOT KNOWING she is pregnant. Plus, I have read stuff from the producers saying that Michael is signed through the entire season. Who the heck knows anymore. It could be spoilers or it could be foilers. I'm not gonna try hazarding a guess and honestly until I hear it from the head honcho (JJ) I'm not going to believe the "rumors" about him being killed off. Oh yeah another reason I don't buy it is because when JJ announced that they were writing Jen's pregnancy into the show he said that a lot of stuff about Vaughn is going to come out and Sydney will want to believe Vaughn but protect her child from him. How can you protect your child from his/her father when said father is dead? |
Season 5 Premiere TONIGHT!
You can see clips here: http://tv.yahoo.com/feature/alias.html
Who'll be watching? I can't decide if I want to - it's on at the same time as "Everybody Loves Chris"! :( |

Uhhhh....what was THAT?!?!?!?!?!?
My head hurts! |
s
p o i l e r s p a c e r e a d a t y o u r o w n r i s k :) OMG!!!!! That about sums up my feelings on this episode. I am in complete and utter shock I have to say I don't believe he is dead. My reasoning behind this is mainly because of a People Magazine paparazzi picture that was printed about a month ago. It was Jennifer and Michael shooting a scene for the show. And having seen tonight's episode that scene wasn't in it. Plus, Jennifer was much further along in her pregnancy and this episode (the premiere) would have been shot back in July and the picture was from an late August magazine. A part of me thinks they "faked" his death on purpose. I say this because with "Michael Vaughn" dead Sydney and baby are still in danger just not as much. Plus, from the previews the only danger she is in is the one she is doing herself from her vendetta on the men who "killed" him. Why do I have a feeling that she is going to turn to Sloane to enact her revenge? Oh wait the previews led me to believe that. LOL. Oh another reason (which I could be wrong here) I don't think he's actually 'dead', because Michael Vartan is still listed in the main cast credits while Greg Grunberg (who we know is leaving the show along with the actress who plays Nadia, more about that later) was listed as a "special guest star". So as for Nadia, I'm guessing that she will wake up and her and Weiss will ride off into the sunset together. LOL. Someone please remind me, why is Sloane in jail again? (Emphasis on again). What happened to Irina also? |
I don't *want* to think Vaughn's dead, but I just don't know...the [i] only thing that I thought when I saw Syd checking on him was that it seemed like she was trying to make sure the bullets didn't penetrate, like he was wearing a vest or something (I don't know much about all this, but who knows - it's TV, right? :D)
ASUADPi :), I think Sloane may have been put back in jail because of him going off as a vigilante at the end of last season with Irina (if I'm remembering correctly) to go after that big monster machine that has now made Nadia sick, and I *think* I remember from the season finale that Jack told Irina to go before they found anyone to extract them. Anyone, please feel free to correct me :) |

Major agreement that Vaughn isn't dead. I also think that Sloane is behind it all. Did they call Jack "Director Bristow" at some point in the ep? Wasn't that Mueller guy involved with Rambaldi? I could swear that the Mueller device was the same thing as the big red ball? Is this Prophet 5 stuff really just Rambaldi with a new name? I swear, I don't know if I hate or love JJ Abrams right now. |
I would love for Vaughn to not be dead, but at the same time, I think that would really send the show over the edge. Not that its all that believable now, but--well, think of it this way--maybe that wasn't Vaughn, maybe that was someone who used that formula from season 2 that turned you into an exact replica of someone else. And Vaughn is being held captive somewhere. Sounds like an Alias storyline, right? But I don't know, just seems like everyone is expecting him to not really be dead, so he really is.
However, lol if it does turn out it was a Vaughn clone that died--well how long has Syd been w him and not the real Vaughn? And whose baby is she really having then? If Vaughn IS dead, the pics of him shooting scenes could be for flashbacks. |
Quote:
Yes they did call Jack "Director Bristow". Yes the Mueller device was the Big Red Ball. I think that Prophet 5 will be the NEW Rambaldi because I think that Rambaldi is done since his "final scenario" has already played out in the season finale of last season. |
Vaughn's dead. As much as that sucks, but since he's name has been taken out of the credits, you have to know that it's true.
Although, he could come back as a special guest star. |
Rumor has it that JJ wanted him for a 1-3 ep guest arc, but our boy keeps saying no.
As for last night's ep: Thank heavens we got our Alias music back and new credits. I hated last season's "The Many Aliases of Sydney Bristow" opener. Ugh. I'm sorry, but my first thought when we saw the contents of the box was "It's Rambaldi!" :) As for the rest of it, I don't think I know who to trust anymore. I've got a list of who NOT to trust, starting with Spy Daddy *and* Uncle Arvin. And I got all teary when Weiss left. I like Weiss and darn it, the show needs Weiss. Sydney needs Weiss. Sad times. Spy Daddy just has no clue about how to be a Spy Granddaddy, does he? He's just so cute about it. |
I missed it!
Only saw the last 10 minutes. VAUGHN is SO ALIVE. Or, should I say REANIMATED? lol My Tivo did not record. Or er, I didn't do "record all". Sigh. |
I have a feeling that JJ is playing with us.
I honestly didn't pay attention to the opening credits except to notice that it was better than "the many aliases of Sydney" as AOIIalum put it. :) I think if Michael Vartan is still there than it would only be wise to take him out of the credits until they intend to "show" him again. Plus, the TV Guide (newest one) reported that JJ wouldn't say 100% that Vaughn is dead. So I tend to think he is alive but in hiding. We shall see |
Heard on the radio this morning that Michael Vartan has signed a contract and will return to the show at some point this season. :)
