Things are looking up for me!
 

I received some good news this week...The ladies of the local "Pina Colada" alumnae group extended an invitation to me to join, pending approval from the headquarters/nationals. My paperwork is being submitted this week, so now all I can do is wait and hope that I am approved...I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

I need to thank all the ladies (and men) who have posted on this board, as you guys have given me so much insight into the whole AI experience/process. I am truly blessed to have been presented with this opportunity!

I think I will wait and see if I am approved before I start the major clue dropping, but just to give a hint, the "Pina Coladas" are not a sorority founded in the South...

Hrm....so many choices - it could be any one of a number of groups! We only have three collegiate chapters in Florida; but, we have a truckload of alumnae chapters there. One of those alumnae chapters has a lot of experience with AIs. It's a long shot, but I'll start out with a guess for Gamma Phi Beta. :)

*ahem* Alpha Epsilon Phi was founded in New York, which wasn't in the South, last I checked... ;)

But AEPhi doesn't do AI :( so shouldn't be on the list for that reason.

We're still left with over half the NPC sororities!! More clues please! ;)

Seems to me you HAVE been approved, Florida Tish. At least in my case, the chain of events was (in order):

1. approved by national
2. received an invitation to join from alumnae chapter
3. I responded in snail mail acceptance
4. received form to sign with initiation dues request and badge form
5. initiation date set
6. initiation!

Hmmmm... I'm from Florida so right now I am going to guess...

AOII (hopefully!)
Delta Delta Delta
Kappa Alpha Theta
Pi Beta Phi
Kappa Kappa Gamma

All of these groups have strong collegiate and alumnae presence in FL. :)

Kappa doesn't have AI (though I think they do it if a local is being absorbed)

Theta also does AI, but I think it is with alum's of locals being absorded....otherwise it is very, very rare.

I just wanted to clairfy that I am not sure of the correct terminology in reference to who does the approval (ie: nationals, international HQ, headquarters, executive board, etc..), but I didn't want my incorrect terminology to mess up any of your guesses, since I know it differs from sorority to sorority! Sorry if I made a mistake in my wording, I am new at this!

For those of you hint junkies out there, here is another clue:

The "Pina Coladas" name is a 3 greek letter sorority...That should narrow it down a tish. Refer to the lists above for some idea of the ones to choose from! :)

Gotta run, the season finale of "LOST" is on in a 1/2 an hour and I have to give my daughter a bath and get her ready for bed before then! :)

I am going to guess AST or Gamma Phi Beta!

That means it's now narrowed down to........

Alpha Gamma Delta
Alpha Omicron Pi
Alpha Xi Delta
Delta Delta Delta
Delta Phi Epsilon
Gamma Phi Beta

We could narrow it even more if we found out if there is an Alpha, Delta or Gamma in the name.

It also might help if you'll tell us where in FL you're located... :)

I believe in an earlier thread she said something about Vero Beach... maybe she is in that area?

I thought in an earlier thread it was somewhere in the Orlando area? That is close to Vero Beach..... I looked at the organizations that UCF and Rollins had too, because she did say there was a collegiate group in the area.
