90's Nickelodeon on DVD

So, since The Adventures of Pete and Pete Season 1 is coming out on DVD pretty soon I thought it would be nice to recollect on the past 90's Nickelodeon shows.

What shows do you all want to see on DVD next?

jess_pom 05-20-2005 02:05 PM

It's already out, but Clarissa Explains it All!

FAB*SpiceySpice 05-20-2005 04:16 PM

HEY DUDE!!!!

The day that comes out, if it ever does, I am getting it. And "Are You Afraid Of The Dark?" or whatever it was called, I looooooved that show too!

I want 90210 to come out on DVD as well, even though that's not Nickelodeon but whatev.

DeltaSigStan 05-20-2005 05:04 PM

I AM SO WITH YOU ON THOSE ONES!!!!! And Salute Your Shorts, Roundhouse...yeahhhhhhhhh man I miss those shows!

Unregistered- 05-20-2005 11:44 PM

Ditto on Salute Your Shorts.

And though it wasn't on for *too* long, I'd like to see RoundHouse on DVD. All the episodes combined will probably take up one or two DVDs.

Im_just_me 05-21-2005 03:00 PM

Camp Onawana (I think that was the name of it... )

FSUZeta 05-21-2005 06:17 PM

i had the presence of mind to record the pete and pete episodes when they were on nick-when they held petestock that was a huge help, but we will definately get the dvd's!! i am sure that i must have missed a few episodes.

who is everyones favorite character? they are all great, but i guess my family would choose endless mike or artie, the strongest man in the world.

I believe you're thinking of Salute Your Shorts. Which they better release on DVD.

Nick should just move all these classics to The N (Noggin).

norcalchick 05-22-2005 11:43 PM

afraid of the dark. i think that's the name

epchick 05-23-2005 12:26 AM

I totally agree with Salute your Shorts...that was the best show in the whole world.

Hey Dude was awesome. For some reason whenever I see Christine Taylor (Ben Stiller's wife) I think of her as Melanie from Hey Dude!! lol.

I think Nickelodeon should make their own channel for all those old shows. I remember that back in the day there was always something great on. There wasn't a span of time that didn't have a "good" show on Nick....now its pure crap.

These are the shows I want on DVD:
Salute your Shorts
Hey Dude
Old School All That
Wild and Crazy Kids (lol)
Secret Life of Alex Mack

and there is more, but I can't think right now.

AXOeva 05-23-2005 09:11 AM

Nickelodeon does have channels to show old shows, but they don't show any of the good ones that everyone in this thread wants to watch. The "N" (formerly known as Noggin) supposedly used to show all of the old shows, but now it shows reruns of Sabrina, Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, and Moesha as well as knew episodes of Degrassi and Radio-Free Rosco. When I first got digital cable they were also showing episodes of Daria, but they stopped and I was sad.

Even better than The "N" is Nick GAS, or Nick Games and Sports. This cable channel shows the old Nick sports and games shows, along with some newer programming. If you are lucky, you can catch any of the Double Dare family, GUTS, Legend of the Hidden Temple, Figure it out, and more...

Gosh, I love digital cable.....

They do still show Daria, just usually in the middle of the night. I watched an episode at about 3am last night when I couldn't sleep.

Thanks for the heads-up! I might have to get up and watch it. (but I probably won't....darn full-time job) I lived and breathed by Daria when it was on MTV.

But to end the hijack....I can't believe I didn't know Clarissa was out on DVD! I was so obsessed with Clarissa that I would take notes on every outfit she wore in hopes to create it out of my own pathetic wardrobe.

I also wanted to be on Roundhouse more than anything in the world. Ok maybe I wanted to be on the MMC more than Roundhouse, but still....

Hey, are there any Roundhouse fans out there that obsess over Newsies just because there are like three of the RH cast are in it?

_Lisa_ 05-23-2005 04:01 PM

I miss You Can't Do That on Television!

Xylochick216 05-23-2005 04:40 PM

Salute Your Shorts=best Nick show EVER. I like the older ones with Michael better than the more recent ones. If it comes out on DVD, it's mine.

I also loved The Secret World of Alex Mack. In Nicktoons, I loved Rocko's Modern Life. Mr. Bighead cracked me up with his wife.

norcalchick 05-24-2005 04:29 AM

what was that one show where they played video games? and in parts, they had to be in the game. i always thought i would be so good on that show! lol

AOIIalum 05-24-2005 07:17 AM

Can't remember which show that was...

Another favorite, though, was Legends of the Hidden Temple. The boys would chill and watch it when they were little guys. We have Nickelodeon, Noggin and Nicktunes but not GAS. Hopefully they'll add that one soon!

That was Nick Arcade. It was the first show that I remember Mike O'Malley hosting.

ETA... I just spent the last 45 minutes looking through the ycdtotv.com site. Talk about a blast from the past!!

RioLambdaAlum 05-24-2005 01:09 PM

OKay for all you fellow Salute Your Shorts fans....I am suprised no one has mentioned this little tid bit of information. So I figured I would post it.

I do! The first time I saw him on BMW, I said "hey, it's that kid on Salute your Shorts!"

epchick 06-05-2005 08:02 PM

If y'all have a cable box...and get the Nickelodeon Games and Sports (GAS) channel, then you can watch Pumping GAS every day and you can see:

Legends of the Hidden Temple
Finders Keepers (I dont EVER remember this show)
Global GUTS
Figure it Out
Double Dare

Its awesome. I loved to watch Figure it out and Legends...yay!!

RioLambdaAlum 07-07-2005 11:33 PM

I just bought SEASON ONE TO CLARRISA EXPLAINS IT ALL!!
Just had to share the excitment of finding that at the mall when I went over to Ft. Wayne.:D

DeltaEtaKP 07-08-2005 12:42 AM

Secret World of Alex Mack-- I loved that show!
I think I'm having a quarter life crisis! I feel so old. I will be 21 soon, which I don't think is old, but I was watching The Fresh Prince of Belair (sp....? sorry) the other night on NICK AT NIGHT!!! I mean... 90's Nickelodeon shows... that wasn't too long ago, was it?
I think that my problem is that when I came home this summer, the kids that I have always babysat are babysitting.
Just wanted to ramble. Sorry. :D

Blake? I forgot he had a first name, I just remember him as "Pinsky." It was so dumb, I had a crush on Budnick and my cousin had a crush on Pinsky, we were so stupid, but we couldn't help it. My list is definitely Hey Dude, Are You Afraid of the Dark, Roundhouse, Salute Your Shorts, and Alex Mack. Hey, who remembers The Tomorrow People? That one too!

Who still remembers all the theme songs? I'll post one, then give another title at the end, the next person post that show's theme song, then keep it going!

"Whenever my life gets me so down, I know I can go down to where the music and the fun never ends--as long as the music keeps playin' you know what I'm sayin'--I know that I can find a frien----en---end down at the Roundhouse!"

Somebody do "Hey Dude"! (tvtome.com might tell you)

My friends and I were singing that about a month ago when we got wasted. Haha.

Pecan 07-08-2005 02:29 PM

I used to love Are You Afraid of the Dark, Wild & Crazy Kids (I thought Omar Gooding was so fine), and Secret Life of Alex Mack! Those were the days...
