Quarterly

Does anyone know when the next issue comes out?

tatianamik 05-13-2005 03:54 PM

It's on the website now. I got my copy today. I'm pretty sure it's an advance copy because I contributed to the Diabetes article.
Also it features the Chapter Advisor of the chapter I'm Finance Advisor for.

epi_girl 05-13-2005 05:09 PM

I got mine yesterday!

agd4rie 05-13-2005 09:24 PM

I contributed also and got my advance copy yesterday. The regular copy came today.

winnieb 05-13-2005 10:01 PM

As usual I'll be one of the last to get my issue.

Yay for my newest Delta Sigma sisters for their beautiful Feast of Roses picture in the Chapter Reports section! Duke's Waikiki is by far my most favorite AGD event spot!

AGDLynn 05-18-2005 10:25 PM

Got mine today!! Glad to see GTau made it even though we missed the deadline, lol.

Boy, did I learn how strong the bonds of sisterhood are!!!

Harriett Fox Garrett - because of her generosity, 79 scholarships have been awarded.

"In her memory, a luncheon was held on Sunday, February 27th at the Santa Ana Country Club in Costa Mesa. This memorial was hosted by Harriett".

Wish I had been there!! ;)

Taualumna 05-19-2005 08:28 AM

Got mine yesterday too! :)

greeklawgirl 05-19-2005 11:00 AM

Mine came in the mail day before yesterday. I really enjoyed reading the article on diabetes, and I was also touched by the fact that they dedicated it to all Alpha Gamma Deltas who have had their lives touched by diabetes.

Sisters, please take care of yourselves. Type II Diabetes is a lifestyle disease that can often be prevented. Sean had complications from his diabetes in April and he ended up in the CICU for the better part of a week. It was one of the most frightening experiences of my entire life. I wouldn't wish diabetes on my worst enemy.

Quarterly Wins Three Industry Awards

FROM IHQ SITE

Congratulations to the Alpha Gamma Delta Quarterly staff for receiving a second place award for cover design from the College Fraternity Editors Association (CFEA) and North American Interfraternal Foundation. The award, for the Summer 2004 Convention cover, was presented during the CFEA annual conference in May 2005. The Quarterly was also recognized for its excellence in writing and design by receiving Honorable Mention for Best News Feature Article and Honorable Mention for Best Feature Layout for the Winter 2005 article “Meet the Millennials: A New Generation of Alpha Gams.” Only six magazine writing and five magazine design awards are given at this Conference. Kudos to the Quarterly staff—Mary Kay Price, Communications Coordinator, LiaAnn Vang, former Graphics/Web Coordinator, Tara Rollo, Graphics/Web Coordinator, and Jeanne Henning, Director of Communications—for their great work!

Got mine!!

I LOVE THE SQUIRREL GAME GRAPHICS!!!! They are soooo cute!!!

Wish they would put them on the IHQ site so we could put them into our clipart folders;)

Also very impressive to read the list of Foundation donors! Maybe I can make it to the next level before next summer.

And boy, accomplished sisters!!!!

AGDee 08-19-2005 08:28 PM

I want to know how Lynn rates to get hers so early? I got mine today and read it cover to cover. I love the Quarterly.

AGDLynn 08-19-2005 08:32 PM

Suthen (Southern, lol) Beauty

Surprised me too, lol.

Fall 2005

This is the most amazing issue EVER. I love the section on the archives. Imagine my surprise when I see, on page 12, a sister from my alumnae club who has also been a ZA advisor! She's the Director of Volunteer Services for the Super Bowl.

The quality of this issue is simply superb.

Maybe I'll actually get this one. I never recevied the last one since it came out right around the time I moved and updated my address and I'm assuming things got all messed up with my address at IHQ.

agdbirmingham 11-14-2005 12:31 PM

I think the Quarterly has been getting better and better the last few years! It's nice to see a lot more great stories about Alpha Gam instead of misc. topics. I sent them an email awhile back to tell them all what a great job they're doing!

VandalSquirrel 05-14-2006 03:30 AM

I was at the house helping clean/close it and assisting collegians into their summer housing, and came home to find my first copy of The Quarterly waiting for me.

My name was even in it, imagine that!

GtownGirl98 05-14-2006 07:06 PM

That is an awesome feeling. I remember that feeling.

AGDLynn 05-15-2006 06:11 PM

Cool! I got my Q and my Convention reimbursement check in today's mail!

AGDee 08-21-2006 07:44 PM

I got my Convention highlights Quarterly today! I was doing my "skim through" and saw my picture on the front cover, the inside cover and a few other pages (presenting an award, accepting one for my alumnae chapter and receiving my Arc with Diamonds) and I kept saying to the kids "Look, I'm on that page!" "Look I'm on that page!" "Look I'm on that page!" LOL.. I think I've had my 15 minutes of fame now! For the front cover picture, I made it a "Where's Waldo?" type of game for the kids. Remember the singing on that staircase? That is totally up there with my list of favorite Alpha Gam moments. That was better than getting my Arcs... it was such a strong feeling of sisterhood. So much has happened since then that I almost forgot.

AGDLynn 08-21-2006 08:28 PM

My Chapter President is the 1st picture on Page 8, Collegiate Awards! Ain't she cute:)

I know that we have to return the silver tray for the Chapter Improvement Award in two years but hey it's ours for now!!

It's been given 5 times and Georgia chapters have gotten it 3 so there's 4 chapters that need it.;)

And we were on the Honor Roll for Scholastic Improvement.:)

The whole issue is on the www.alphagammadelta.org site.

mu_agd 08-22-2006 07:55 AM

I got mine a few days ago and put it on my dining room table and promptly lost it under the nine million other things that are on the table. I should probably look for it so i can actually read it.

Is that you getting your ARC on the "Friday" section of the Q with the Red, Buff and Green sash? Two people behind you is Liz Johnson...she is from my chapter.

Nope, I'm not in that picture. That picture is of the wearers of the Crescent being led into the banquet hall for dinner. I'm in the pic on page 9, the group shot of the Arc with Diamonds recipients, in the wild black and white blazer.
