AOII to Colonize a New Chapter at University of South Carolina Aiken
Alpha Omicron Pi is pleased to announce that we have been invited to colonize a new chapter at the University of South Carolina Aiken. The university opened for extension last fall. AOII was selected to present with Gamma Phi Beta and Sigma Sigma Sigma for the invitation in late March. The University of South Carolina Aiken is a comprehensive liberal arts institution and has consistently been ranked since 1999 as one of the top public comprehensive colleges in the South by U.S. News & World Report. Founded in 1961, USC Aiken has a total student enrollment of over 3,300. Student enrollment has been on an increase over the last six years with a 12% increase in 2004. Currently, there are two NPC organizations on campus-- Phi Mu and Zeta Tau Alpha. Colonization of AOII’s 180th chapter is slated for late September 2005. If you are interested in helping with any of the colonization activities or serving on the Alumnae Advisory Committee or Corporation Board for the USC Aiken Colony, please contact Lori Belew, Administrative Director of Public Relations – lbelew@alphaomicronpi.org – for more information. |

Wow!
Awesome! |
Go go AOII! :)

Our colony at USC-Aiken is in place! 15 charter members gathered on September 22. Does anyone know what the chapter name will be? We already have a Sigma Chi. Any guesses?
They could name it after someone who was instrumental in getting the chapter started. Nu Beta is named for Nancy Beasley who pretty much started the colony in 1957. They could name it after me, Kappa Mu chapter...I don't think we've had a Kappa Mu chapter yet! Fun times!
That would be a fun thread - what chapter uses your initials? Mine would be Kappa Rho - Western Michigan University. Before I got married I would have been Kappa Gamma - Florida Southern College. :)
The Epsilon Gamma chapter is named after Erica--she was very instrumental in helping to get that chapter off the ground. But, I feel guilty, for the life of me I can't remember her last name! :(
I was looking on the AOII My Communites to look up something and it looks like the USC Aiken chapter name is Chi Phi. Can anyone confirm this?

Well, then, the Chi Phi colony holds the distinction of using my initials. I like those women, they have great taste! :D
