Naw I'm just kidding. My first job came when I was 15 (a week before my 16th b-day) and I worked at a shirt factory. I was laid off 2 weeks later. I hated that place because there was a old woman there who yelled at me all the time. |

Lawd don't remind me of my first job! I was a bagger at a grocery store. Allllllll people did was b!+ch!
"Tell that heffa not to smash my bread and chips. Put my sodas in a different bag!" Soooooo what wench! It ain't like your precious bread and chips are going to taste different because they smashed. "Shamika, you need to push more than two or three carts in at one time! The other baggers push more than five carts into our store!" Whateva! Number one, pushing carts from the parking lot into the store was not even on my job description. Number two, I ain't no big nicca, like the rest of the baggers. Obviously, I could not exert that much force. I wouldn't even if I was able to. Sheeeet I was too cute for that. |

Waitress when I was a freshman in college. It was an upscale black-owned restaurant downtown, but it went bankrupt. The hint and 1/2 came when we would go to get our paychecks and they weren't there on time. When I finally got my last paycheck, I never went back to work.

My first job was when I was 17, delivering the morning paper too early in the morn. I quit after 1 week. My next real job was at Pier 39. I worked for the company that owned the arcade, carousel and food carts. I worked there for a little over a year and 1/2. It was fun for a while but the fog and cold weather sucked.(It got really cold down there) The trade off was we got free game tokens, hot dogs, popcorn, It's It's (thick ice cream oatmeal cookie sandwich only sold in the SF area{as far as I know}) cotton candy and rides on the merry go round. One of the few things I liked about the job was that I met some celebrities and got a couple of autographs. |
