Someone hit my car this morning
I haven't had my car for 24 hrs and I watched this bitch get into her car this morning, swing open her door, and smack the passenger door of my new mercedes. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I ran out there and stopped her and asked her WTF? She ended up saying "FUCK YOU" and peeled out. By the angle I couldn't even get her license plate. I'm filing a police report. I hope this cunt burns in hell.
FUCK, MAN! When I park next to a nice car, I'm EXTRA cautious because I know how much it'll cost to repair it. I watched this girl do it and she plain faced LIED TO ME and said she didn't. I'm so pissed I could spit fire right now.   |
How big is the dent? Unfortunately, door dings happen all the time. My passenger side door is proof of that. :( The UCF parking lot is filled with idiots who are physically incapable of opening their doors without smacking into the car next to them.
If the dent isn't too big, you can buy one of those dent kits online for about $20 to $40. It does a pretty good job of removing door dings. |

The total area thats is damaged is probably the size of a tangerine (sp?)/baby orange. Think one of those kits could work? Here's what the car looks like: Its a 2002, not brand spanking new...but new enough for me and its the first car Ive bought on my own. http://images.autobytel.com/cyber/184819/i2652_1.jpg |

Where do you buy them? And do they come in different sizes for different sized dents? Right now anything would be better than taking it to a shop. From owning a foreign car like the one I have in the past, I swear to god those idiots fix one thing but always end up loosening something else so that you have to come back later and spend more money. |
nice looking set of wheels...
i'm sure there are solutions out thre. |
People like that need to be subjected to people just like them for extended periods of time. They'd either mend their ways, or kill each other off. Either way, we all win.
I had a girl in a company van pull out in front of me from a meter space 2 days ago. I couldn't really avoid her and hit her on her driver's side door. Unfortunately for me, I was driving my boss' Denali when I did that.. The girl was professional as heck, we ended up waiting 2 hours for a cop to show up and do his report, she admitted fault, and we were on our way... Ended up that we had used this company a couple of times. The owner called yesterday, was professional as heck, told us his adjustor was going to get right on it, and even thanked us for his business. So I guess not everything sucks about living in the "heartland". |
I already know what I'm going to do if I see that woman again. Instead of beating her ass I'm going to set her car on fire and then leave a sorry note.

ZTAngel-
There is also paint scratched, any chance you know of some good tricks? |
Do you guys have a Dr Dent type person there--- they do dent removals too--without bondo and that crap. I believe they use giant suction cup things-- kind of like the kit ZTAngel is talking about-- I believe they charge about $50 -100 per dent.
For a scratch-- how deep-- surface or down to the metal-- if it is surface-- get some Turtle Wax Polishing Compound --- it's red colored- looks gross but removes sratches! Lets see did this chic drive a piece of shit car--- that always seems to be how it works. Or people who let their kids open their car doors-- kids don't get it--- I still keep the damn child locks on- not so my kids won't jump out of the car at high rates of speed- but so they won't fling a door open and ding someone! |
Sorry about your car.
A dent kit should do the trick. Don't take your car to a Mercedes dealership - they will want to replace the whole door. This is why I always try to park next to a newer or nicer car than mine. I figure the owners will be careful when opening their doors and pulling out of the spot, not for the sake of my car, but so that their car doesn't get scratched up. |

As for the paint, I don't have a solution for that other than buying some touch up paint at the dealership. I heard there's some kind of wax out there you can buy that will touch up areas that are missing paint but I have no idea of the name and if it works well. |

i saw something on qvc a couple of months ago about popping out dents using magnets and twisting motions. i think it was called pop-a-dent. and, if you had ordered within the two hours they were going to throw in a scratch remover for free.
|
Nice car.
|
Actually, a toilet plunger does work on some dents. Get it wet first.
|
You should see my mom's Jag. It's got dents all over the place. And a huge scratch on the rear fender.
They were all done by my mom herself tho. The value of the car has dropped thousands. Craig- good luck with the car. Not really a fan of those but it's a pretty nice car. |

What kind of redneck b.s. is that? Are you trying to make me put more dents in it? Using a plunger would put more dents in it, right? I looked for them at an autozone but I couldnt find one. But, I got the color of paint i need for the scratch. Thanks for the usggestions everyone. |
Me, a redneck? Au contraire.
I've seen maybe 10 people pull out dents with a toilet plunger. If the dent isn't real deep, it works. |
That is partially why my brother parks his *new* car (a 2003 Ford Mustang...but its new to him..lol) FAR away from society. When we go out to eat, he'll park so far away, just so that people won't park next to him. Sometimes he'll take up 2 spots, and sometimes he'll park smack dab in the middle of 4 parking spots.

Its definitely for the bitches. :D |

I hear ya, but he's the reason why people end up hitting car doors on purpose. When I was younger and when I saw someone take up 2 spots or more....I'd hit their doors on purpose just to teach them a lesson. |
Yesterday while my daughter was sitting in the parked traffic  on I-75 south of Atlanta, she got rearended, which pushed her into another car. Ole boy tried to say that somehow she caused him to do that. Right, while her car was in park. She was able to drive to Valdosta although the front end was messed up and one headlight didn't work.
She missed her last-ever chapter meeting  and now has to fool with getting her car fixed while she's taking finals. I can't stand people who mess up car doors as well as people who aren't paying attention and slam into other cars. |

I thought you had a bunch of little kids? -She go to school at Valdosta State? |
I do have a bunch of kids, ages 5-22, and she graduates from Valdosta State in 2 weeks.
|
They have some country girls in Valdosta. Been through there a couple times. People still wave the confederate flag on pickup trucks and most of the people look at you really wierd if they hear "techno" music coming from your car at a gas station.
-But they also have some hot southern gals, too. Ever been to Wild Adventure or whatever that theme park is? |

I haven't met any country girls to speak of, mostly cheerleaders and Greeks. |

All Georgia girls are country. ;) |

Man, that sucks.
I feel your pain. I used to have some kids living across the street who would play ball right in the street in front of my car. I came home one day to see one of the boys throwing a baseball straight up into the air and trying to catch it. He was doing this just a couple of feet from my car. I came out several minutes later to find that the kids were now in their house....and there was a baseball-sized dent on the hood of my car. Another time, one of the kids was skateboarding and I watched him try and flip a trick next to my car. He lost control, the board flew up and hit my driver door. At that time, I lived on a street which dead-ended into a canyon. They had about 100 feet of empty street in which to mess about; but no, they just HAD to play right in front of my car. Punk kids. Plus, in Long Beach, we had street sweeping. This meant that everyone had to park on one side of the street two nights a week. People would try to cram their behemoth SUVs into a space the size of a Golf. The painted bumpers on my sister's brand new Jetta are all jacked up now and my license plate is smashed up due to the yahoos who don't know how to parallel park. I'm glad you were able to find a paint kit....I hope you're able to fix that dent too. You have a nice car and it's a shame it got damaged. .....Kelly :) |
Was at dinner tonight, looked up at the TV and there was an ad for a dent removal "system" called the Pop -n- Dent. It was one of those cheesy commercials with an 800-#---- maybe you can google it.

Update.....
My door is fixed, but does anyone know how to get Redbull out of leather seats if you spilt some on them? Miss teenie bopper spilt a Redbull last night in a drunken stoop.  My car smells just like it, too. |
Quote:
You might be able to use stain remover, but make sure you check the label and that it says you can use it on leather. I'm not entirely sure that would work, it could damage the leather, so double check. You could also try a good leather cleaner. If those don't work, you'll probably have to take it to get it professionally cleaned. |
Quote:
If it's stained you can't really tell. The seats are black and I keep them well conditioned. But I know they're stained because my car smells like a Redbull factory. Any suggestions on a brand of cleaner? |
Quote:
Also, a little febreeze would help get rid of the smell. |
You can get leather cleaner at any furniture store or car dealership for about $4-5. I used to use the same stuff for my leather couches and my mercedes' leather seats.

Also some of the odor neutralizer sprays they make might work as well. Just be careful with spraying stuff b/c I have dark grey leather in my car and I sprayed Febreze in there (not directly on the seats) once, and it worked but it left little spots on the leather that had to be cleaned off which was annoying. Good luck. :D |
