Beatles, Beatles, Beatles.

But I gotta say the early Stones albums still rock!!! They are a lot better than much new stuff.

WCUgirl 04-14-2005 03:02 PM

Beatles. Without a doubt.

valkyrie 04-14-2005 03:02 PM

Rolling Stones. I don't like the Beatles at all.

33girl 04-14-2005 03:38 PM

It depends who I'm, umm, hooking up with at the moment. ;) There are times (and men) when you just gotta have the Stones.

But for when I'm sad and at horrible moments - like family deaths - about all I can listen to is the Beatles.

midwesterngirl 04-14-2005 04:48 PM

The Beatles, actually just John Lennon.I would really prefer The Who or Pink FLoyd.

This debate has been going on for 40 years.

To answer you question, I say The Beatles.

KillarneyRose 04-14-2005 06:41 PM

Love 'em both, but I have to go with the mopheaded lads from Liverpool.

DeltAlum 04-14-2005 07:45 PM

The Stones are a great band -- but the Beatles creatively helped change the course of Rock.

Gotta go with John, George, Paul and Ringo.

KSigkid 04-14-2005 08:45 PM

Stones...I like the Beatles, but more of a Stones fan.

I love the Stones and have quite a considerable catalog of their music. It's a tossup between Wild Horses, She's a Rainbow, and 19th Nervous Breakdown for me. If I could take only one Stones disc on a desert island, it would probably be Hot Rocks 64-71. I've also got quite the soft spot for Some Girls and Tattoo You.

But, it always has been and always will be The Beatles for me. As a group, as solo artists, as guest performers, it doesn't matter. Their music touched me as a child and I still listen (and collect!) to this day. Beatles music has been and remains the soundtrack of my life. If I could only have one album to listen to for the rest of my entire life, it would be Revolver.

FYI for Beatle fans--Abbey Road on the River will be in my hometown in May! http://www.abbeyroadontheriver.com/

Cheap Trick, David Bowie, Genesis and Pink Floyd are also high on my 'Desert Island music' list!

Pink Floyd. Since that wasn't one of the choice - Beatles. Especially their later stuff.

HBADPi 04-18-2005 06:21 PM

Beatles...my first concert ever was Ringo Starr and his all star band. My parents even took me and my sisters to Liverpool about 7 yrs ago and we went on the "yellow submarine" tour, got to see the Cavern Club where they first played, Strawberry Fields, and all the other places they make reference to in their songs. There was some random old guy walking the streets of Liverpool while we were on the bus and the tourguide claimed it was John Lennon's uncle...still not sure he really was.

What he said.

Also, early Beatles is like ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.

And the Stones should have retired 25 years ago. There's nothing there anymore.
